Officer Rex Bishop
At Bolton, I've been focusing my money on buying young up-and-comers. As a result, after the January 2010 transfer window, I'm £100,000 a week UNDER my wage limit, but I've got sweet FA in my transfer war chest. My question is, is there any advantage to leaving the money the way it is? Or should I ask the board to adjust my finances so I reduce the wage allocation but pump up my transfer funds in preparation for Summer 2010? I know the board appreciates the fact that I have kept the wage bill under control, but I'd like to make some big-money signings soon.
chopper99
If you have no plans to buy anyone until next season then I'd leave it the way it is. At the start of next season the board will look at your finances and re-set your transfer budget from that anyway.
Officer Rex Bishop
Thanks. I'll look around and see if there's anyone I want to tie up before the window starts.
elgreenio
IIRC its not the amount under/over the budget you should be worried about, but you should be looking at the total your spending on wages and compare that to the match-day income
