I mostly play a fairly standard 4-4-2, recently tried out the Tactics Theorem's tips and tactic creation and applied a 2-6-2 framework to the formation which seemed to work quite well. Managed to get Newcastle to a Champions League place in the first season and an FA final (lost on penalties). But whatever I try I just cannot ever seem to overcome a couple of AI formations, both home and away. Man City use it most often, I guess it's a 4-5-1 with 2 DMs, one CM and an AMR and AML. Similarly I've come up against 4-5-1s - 2CMs, AMR, AMC and AML - that seem equally unstoppable. Is it just that a flat 4-4-2 can't handle this formation or am I missing something obvious? I have tried various tweaks to my tactics each time but so far to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
JML Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 I have struggled with the Man City formation before. I usually man mark the two wingers, and have my team focus passing down both sides. Seems to work ok for me, my two full backs have very good marking stats both 18. i play a 4-4-2 by the way. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
