Qualifying tournaments in cup competition

Hi everyone

I'm doing a Yugoslavia database where Serbia, Croatia etc. each have their own cups on the side of the federal league system. Sort of like Brazil, but with cups in stead as the number of games is otherwise just too much. Ideally, I'd like the cup winners to meet in a Yugo Cup Winners Cup. 

Is there a way to have the cup winners participate in the cup winners cup in the same season, or does it have to be in the following season (after the season update)?
