PocketMouse Posted November 5, 2017 Author Share Posted November 5, 2017 2055 - Tromsø Idrettslag - Norway - Eliteserien Squad Transfers Domestic League Eliteserien - 5th We had a brilliant season for our first year back in the top flight! We actually ended up on top of the league after 10 games and again after 18 games but our form dropped after a 2-0 win over Odd as we only managed 4 wins in the final 12 games and we fell down the table and in the end we missed out on a Europa League spot by 2 points which was a disappointment but I would of taken it at the start of the season. We managed to break the record amount of team goals scored this season which was a nice little bonus! Positions Graph Fixtures 1, Fixtures 2 Domestic Cups Norgesmesterskapet i fotball - Runner Up We came through the first 4 rounds easily enough and faced Rosenborg in the Quarter Final and managed to dig out a brilliant 1-0 win. The Semi Final against Sogndal went to extra time with the score 0-0 and we got a goal in the 94th minute but stupidly gave away a penalty in the last minute which Sogndal scored and the game went to a shoot out which thankfully we won! We faced Stabæk in the final and they had a man sent off in the 36th minute and we got a goal just before half time and it seemed that we were on our way to lift the trophy but Stabæk scored a brilliant goal and in the end it went to another shootout but we were on the losing side this time! They had finished second behind Belgium in the group stage before knocking England out in the Second Round before falling to Hungary in the Quarter Final. Hungary then lost to Spain in the Semi Final and faced Serbia in the Final who knocked out Scotland in the Semi Final and hammered Italy 3-0 in the Quarter Final. Serbia led the Final for a long time but Spain scored late and then scored 2 more in Extra Time. I felt France would give me a good chance at picking up a World Cup as they are ranked 3rd in the world and have the current Ballon d'Or winner. As per usual I will look into manage the under age sides at international tournaments and then will concentrate on the UEFA Nations League. 2056 - France - Under 19's - UEFA Under-19 Championship Group Stages Group A France had already played 2 games without a manager by the time I was appointed so and after beating Finland 3-0 we finished second behind England. Group B No surprises as Germany and the Netherlands won the group and not surprised to see the only match Norway won was against Scotland. Knockout Stage Semi Final We got a tough task against Germany and found ourselves 1 down after 5 mins but equalized after 22 minutes. Germany did manage to go 2-1 up but we scored with 9 minutes left to bring the game to extra time and we managed to score a screamer on the stroke of half time and held on to reach the final. England beat the Netherlands 1-0 in a fairly boring game were the Netherlands didn't really bother showing up. Final England were slightly the better side but we scored a great counter attacking goal in the 18th minute and then in the 42nd minute a dangerous ball into the box caused panic and England scored an own goal. The second half was a bit nervy as England came close a couple of times but in the end we won 2-0 and lifted this trophy for the third time in a row. 2056 - France - Under 23's - Olympic Games Group Stage Group A The current holders Spain dominated this group despite only beating Mali 2-1 but they should of won that game 5-1 and then went on to beat Argentina 4-0. Argentina beat were very fortunate to beat Mali 2-1 to qualify in second place. Group B A huge surprise as we lost 1-0 to the United States in our first game! Thankfully we stepped it up for the final 2 games and we hammered Japan 5-0 and then comfortably beat South Africa 2-0 to thankfully end up on top of the group. Extremely harsh on the United States to miss out randomly. It would of been nice to beat South Africa 3-0 to reward the US for a great performance against us. Group C No surprise to see Germany top the group but a huge shock to see El Salvador beat Egypt to second place. Group D The Netherlands found this group way to easy and a minor upset as China finished ahead of the hosts of the tournament Morocco. Knockout Stage Quarter Final Huge surprise as South Africa comfortably beat Spain 2-1 and Spain only scored with 3 minutes left . China got a 12th minute goal against Germany but unfortunately for them Germany had already scored twice by then and added another in the 54th minute. We absolutely dominated Argentina in probably the most one sided game I've managed in. Argentina scored with their only shot on target in the 45th minute but we were 3-0 up already and even missed a penalty. We scored 3 more in the second half to come out 6-1 winners. El Salvadors tournament came to an end with a hammering from the Netherlands. Semi Final Germany didn't have it all their own way in against South Africa but managed to win with an 87th minute winner. We faced the rampant Netherlands side and we both canceled each other out annoyingly they got a winner with 1 minute left and gave us no time to recover. Third Place Playoff Not were we wanted to be but we still had to finish at least third and we done that easily beating South Africa 5-0. Final Not a great final between these 2 rivals and Germany were slightly the better team but the game went to a shootout and the Netherlands won so at least we lost to the eventual winners. After 9 games we had only won 3 and drew 4. After we lost 3-2 to Vålerenga the squad felt we were underachieving but we then went out and hammered Start 9-1! And before that loss to Vålerenga we beat Kristiansund 5-1 to show just how much our form was up and down. In the end we managed to finish in a record high 3rd place and secure European football. We only finished 6 points behind Champions Molde so if we had of got any run of form going we could of won the title! Away from Tromsø it was a huge surprise to see Rosenborg down the bottom of the table fighting relegation all season. They finished up avoiding automatic relegation and went into the playoff and lost 3-2 on aggregate against Ranheim! The Quarter Final and Semi Final against Lillestrøm and Sogndal were hard fought wins as we reached our second final in a row were we would face the league champions Molde! We scored the first goal in the 34th minute before adding another one with a brilliant free kick on 45 minutes and then it got even better as we scored another a minute later and we went in at half time 3-0 up. We went out in the second half and finished off the game in the 47th minute by scoring a fourth goal and that was the game over as we picked up a first cup win in 60 years. Key Player Marko Nyman - Very hard to pick a standout player due to our erratic form but he stood out as many of his goals were match winners.
