  1. So far you've showed that gegenpress is king. I tried similar tests. I took the worst Polish league team (not much worse than other teams, just the worst). I changed all first team players acc/pace to 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. I've checked team strength with Genie Scout. With speed 10-12 the strength was the lowest and the team finished mostly last. With speed 14-16 the strength was medium and the team finished between 6 and 15. With speed 18-20 the strength was #6 in the league and the team finished 4-6th.

It means that weights for acc/pace that I used in Genie was quite proper, the team finished very similar to its strength with these weights. And I used weights 35 for most important attributes, 25 for less important and 10 for the rest (as showed in roles in FM). So acc/pace had weights depending on the player's position. If your thesis was right, increasing acc/pace would give me much higher positions than predicted by Genie Scout.

But it was on default/assman's tactics. Then I downloaded good gegenpress tactics. And guess what. The team almost won with acc/pace 10, when they should be last (third place with 2 points behind winner). And with acc/pace 12 (somewhere around average for the league) they won by 13 points, when they still should struggle for not being relegated.

So, yes, acc/pace are important, they make players better, but not much more than other attributes. The most important thing is tactics. The AI doesn't use good tactics. Choose a good tactics and you will win with bad players. Choose an AI-bad tactics and acc/pace is not more important than other role-important attributes. If you want to prove something, don't use tactics that make you win without any effort.

    1. This page.

In the Continental Cup Ranking Points section you can set up how many coefficient points to award for a win, draw, qualification etc. for each stage/round.

IRL in qualification rounds winning gives points to the nations ranking and stage qualification gives points to the club rankings. Is it possible to do it here? Unfortunately it's probably impossible to check since all the rankings views disappear from the game.

Is it possible to preserve current points? Or at least set it somewhere? As I checked, I think that everyone starts with 0 points.

  3. OK, I've read multiple topics here and it looks like you can't just edit existing cups. When I created new ones (name has to be different, at least added space in the end, otherwise old ones keep replacing new ones) everything started to work.

In competition qualified teams all I had to do was check Qualified teams without adding any rows, without specifying number.

In CL I had to block teams from Liechtenstein because they are not supposed to play there.

I phase Teams I used the same setting as on the screenshot above.

I had to manually add clubs from a few countries (Italy, Sweden, Ukraine) because somehow they were the only ones qualified from places lower than 2 but only in the first season, later it was proper.

The bad thing is, the views of rankings, access lists and such completely dissappear from the game, but ranking itself works if I set points for winning games.

  4. I'm trying to change a little european cups qualifications. So far I've created Club Continental Rules. I've set Nations:

    image.png.6b23924a52bee23fe740505b29ce0a8d.png

    Here are the teams:

    image.thumb.png.2399386e1ee7e8e611dd72d68e0986f9.png

Best 2 teams from each country to CL, cup winner and third team to EL, next 2 teams to ECL. Eventually the numbers will be slightly different but now I'm just trying to learn and understand.

How am I supposed to set the cups to get exactly these clubs? When I set qualified teams:

    image.thumb.png.3e006ad7b0f7832bfd692d50426534ea.png

and the same in the stage teams:

    image.thumb.png.9e2bbd9079af225f15593b02e535262b.png

I get almost what I need:

    image.thumb.png.525faac71a1a1b14716bf89628b87496.png

Almost, because there are 104 teams, 2 from each country, but not all of them are champions and second places. Is there anything I can do to enforce this?

as said I am using  my own custom UEFA club comps so I can then add Russia back as a nation supplying sides to the various comps

Are you using advanced rules? Do you have proper teams qualifying? I cannot find anywhere a file with advanced UEFA competitions rules and I cannot make mine work properly because of wrong teams qualifying.

  6. I'm trying to create custom european competitons based on 2024 system, just with different access list and qualification tree.

I want all countries to have 2 teams in Champions League, 2 teams in Europa League (including cup winners) and 2 teams in Europa Conference League.

I created new Club Continental Rules, advanced ones, I copied standard competitions (2024) and changed just the qualification stages.

The main problem is that I get a testing error:

    image.png.99e55fe45ce5bc7e4ad4bc13a9471118.png

My settings are: I chose 54 countries (excl. Russia):

    image.png.581fcbce6f3575f461dd171ac954e8ce.png

I set the proper amount of teams starting in each competition. Higher league place starts always later, cup winner is before third place and I want to preserve 2 spots in CL for winning CL and EL (increasing number of teams from these countries) and 1 spot in EL for winning ECL (the same).

    image.png.071aa46d0730d20e6ef0009d1d04415e.png

Every competition has 3 same stages:

    image.png.a4a9e4926c1047f1ad7b5bae65704f12.png

Every qualification stage has similar looks, 4 (CL and EL) or 5 (ECL) rounds. Losers fall to lower competition (1st round of CL go directly to ECL, every other round of CL falls to EL and from EL to ECL. There's only one exception, made in order to preserve the proper number of teams in league phases. 16 winners from 3rd round of CL go directly to the league phase while losers go to 4th round and play against each other for another 8 spots. I don't know if it works yet, because testing doesn't even get there. 10 teams from best leagues and 3 previous winners get spot in league phases, every single other team starts in one of the round of the competition.

    image.png.8edee5e147c21772d2b758c7cbbf645f.png

Ranking level info looks right to me. Every round has the proper number of finish teams. If I increase the number in the lowest round by the "missing" 11, the error doesn't show but the teams are still not proper then.

    image.png.96dd4033c7265aaad05b5803e3ca012b.png

    I set the qualified teams:

    image.png.76c8d983da89fd0eab98731f2492bd99.png

I get the teams into stages (I assume these numbers corelate to Europe Teams seedings from the third screenshot):

    image.png.d97b2023906a03ebfcbad2d9f5a89003.png

I even set the proper registered teams in competition but it didn't change a thing (again, info equals seeding):

    image.thumb.png.b2268999fc80c3d9d136a0665fa32fb2.png

Now the testing. Teams in the stage looks almost fine. The biggest problem here is existence of two Liechtenstein teams which should be ignored since they don't have their own league. But somehow the game throws them here from the Liechtenstein Cup results. Can I somehow ignore them here?

    image.thumb.png.84784edb349ea855e7a61c0639cdaa66.png

Now what's really bad is Ranking levels. Somehow it show 24 teams as Winner. I don't know why because every other number is equal to the number of teams starting that phase (besides league phase).

    image.png.46444071aa088eeaf742f4f3f9610edf.png

Ranking are also bad. They contain multiple teams from first countries alphabetically. 4 from Andorra, Albania, Armenia and Austria, 3 from Azerbaijan and Belgium. The rest is fine. I guess these are the 12 that are different in the main error.

    image.png.08f6cb837ca2de3fefe5aa0a31b26161.png

And qualified teams shows even 188, although some of them are twice. I think in total they are the same teams as in previous screenshot.

    image.png.e0422f3ef2b3cd7f29f99f20506ccbf5.png

    So in summary:

    1. How to get rid of 12 extra teams that shouldn't be there?

    2. How to get rid of Liechtenstein teams from CL and ECL but keep cup winner in EL, starting from the round based on Liechtenstein ranking place?

I've been trying to find the issue for the last 4 days.

  7. It's a merely a pre-contract agreement, it cannot influence current contract. At least I can sell him to his new club for 0 which equals terminating his contract, but I should be able to loan him out for that remaining six months, and I think it's a bug, that I'm not able to.

  8. When my player signs contract on bosman rule (6 months before end of his contract) I can't do anything with him. I can try to sell him to his new club but I can't send him on loan or to feeding club or terminate his contract, either mutually or from the club side. Is this correct with real life or should I post it as a bug?
