Was wondering whether the league in Saudi Arabia will be included in FM24? We've seen the likes of Benzema, Kanté and Cristiano Ronaldo move there recently. There are also rumours that players such as Mahrez, Ziyech, Ruben Neves, Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy will move there.

Yeah it's by design and a clay pitch.
Amazing! Did not know that the game had those, first time I'm seeing it

I'm playing as a Tanzanian club using an editor file. For the first 20 matches, the field has looked normal (sometimes with some patches to reflect a poor field). But for today's away game, the field is orange. In the stadium information, it does list a poor pitch condition.
Does this resemble a clay court? Or is it a bug?

Hi. I've been getting the same bug. I also have a macbook but with an intel chip. Running Ventura 13.1 as the OS version. Did you find a fix for this? I'm on Steam

Hi all. I keep trying to start Football Manager through Steam on my MacBook Pro (running Ventura 13.1). The game will open and the branded load screens occur, but afterwards I get a 'fm quit unexpectedly' error.
The error code is as below. I haven't updated my OS recently, although it may be the case that FM was updated (to version 23.4?). Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Is this a severe bug in FM, or am I missing anything? I have a player at my club who has made a decent amount of starts and substitute appearances. I would think he's a Squad player, or at a minimum an Impact sub or Fringe player. But he's listed as a 'Youngster' in terms of actual playing time? It's February and the league started in September.

True. I think perhaps they have such inflated player values that they're also selling their lesser players for decent sums. And with Newcastle, I think they have a sugar daddy.

I'm wondering what the highest transfer fees are that anyone has received for their players? I'm trying to win the Champions League with Feyenoord and have some world-class talents, but the huge clubs keep coming in with ridiculously high offers for my players. I sold Endrick for €174m to Bayern and a regen now for €195m to Newcastle. How much further can I push this? Will the AI ever go above, say €220m, for the best talents / players in the world?

I never knew this! Very informative

Hi all. I've just had a message pop up in my inbox which I had never seen before. It was from my head of youth development, regarding my back up rightback (a 19 year old).
It says that he has made remarkable improvements in his attitude. Note that I also received a message that he is showing pleasing progress on the same date. I checked his development and noticed that, over the past month, his determination went up by 5(!) points, from 13 to 18.
I don't think it's necessarily unrealistic, he may just have 'seen the light'. But I have never encountered this before in this game (I'm in October 2029) or previous editions.
Does this happen often, and have other players seen it before? I know that determination does not affect CA, but it likely will positively affect his development.

I kinda get his point. Why do we need adds in the game? Just show SI or so on the add boards during matches.
I know you can turn targeted adds of, but nonetheless I feel like it's odd to pay for a game in which they're also going to show you adds. Maybe remove the adds or make the game free to play?

Yes, it's quite common. There are further variations, e.g. showing the substitution logo when a goal is scored.
I know for a fact it was also in FM22, shame it hasn't been fixed.

Sorry i meant it the other way around. Say i'm a big club buying a player and promising to the selling (smaller) club that we'll play a friendly. I would have to schedule it and there's no consequence of me not doing it?

You still have to arrange it. When you organise a friendly, the club appears as an option when it didn't before. It still has to be at a time when it's reasonable for the club to be free.
I understand. But there is no consequence of not doing so?

When doing business with smaller clubs, there is often a clause being added to arrange a friendly match with that club. This could provide those clubs with significant additional income.
However, i notice that in practice there is no reason / incentive to actually stay true to your word on this? I don't see the calendar being filled up with friendlies against these teams and I think that typically they do not even happen. Is this a bug?

I’m not sure it works that way, but in principle it would make sense for match ratings of strikers and wingers to be more volatile than for holding midfielders and central defenders. A striker is often perceived to have played a ‘poor’ match if he does not score, while barring any major mistakes, a defender would not be judged on single actions but more on an average of how they’ve played. I suppose for attackers it is, in reality, more often hit or miss than for other positions

Bear in mind a HOYD develops players from a very young age, so you're unlikely to see a knock on with the quality of your players specifically attributable to a HOYD for at least a few intakes.
Yes they may help boost a player towards the end of their 'youth' development before they're part of an intake, but by that stage a lot of the work may already be done for that player.
Also
That’s really interesting to know, I hadn’t realised it took into account several years! My previous HYOD were luckily also quite good so hopefully all in all the intakes will turn out well!

Ah yes that famous portuguese name Vyacheslav
judging from his skin im guessing its zealands regen facepack.
but yeah in general, scouting U18s/U21s is where its at
He actually has Ukrainian dual nationality and I'm the coach of Ukraine as well, but cannot seem to convince him to play for Ukraine despite being among his favourite persons!

You don't need to load the league to get wonderkids from them. For example, the Egyptian league is not playable. But I found this regen available for 50k in the second division of Egypt.
I wouldn't suggest scouting lower leagues (e.g. second division of Egypt), but it is worth doing national team / national U21 team scouting to find gems.

Players under the age of 14
in Editors Hideaway

Hi all,
Would it be possible to create a youth-team filled with generated players under the age of 14? I think it would be great fun to create academy teams with players with very low CA but high PA and develop them over the years.
