This is so frustrating guys but i think its as good as we can get it right now.

What ever me or JP give the strikers they still seem to push out wide constatly and thats where the problem lies.

I just played a game on my everton tester save and Yakubu got the ball just inside his own half and had Saha uphead, It was a 2-2 situation but instead of either passing or running at goal he takes the ball out wide and runs to the corner flag WTF!!!!!!

That was the final straw for me and it's sad because we where hoping to sort these problems out.

It looks like this FM is gonna be doiminated by 3 striker formations, I just hope SI sort these problems out for FM11

ive noticed that sometimes the player no matter what formation will have the ball lets say with one player to beat in the penalty box and instead of trying to beat the player or shoot the pleb will dribble it out of the box to the corner flag try and cross it ball rebounds and goes out of play its so annoying , i feel your pain mr hough and i have noticed this on countless tactics its so stupid

Watching my team play at home now is sheer frustration as well I can't buy a win, just draws, draws, draws, and more draws. Something is really off with the tactic, and I'm thinking it's the closing down tweaks.

EDIT - Make that furious instead. Don't know what happened to my team. Now I've started loosing to teams that I beat before and my players do nothing. Lukaku has been awful to say the least.

This usually happens to me just after xmas when your teams reputation gets revalued.

I think it is so if your doing well the AI stats to play differently against you more park the bus counter attacking style soaking up the pressure then hitting you on the break.

You could try a few things raising your d/line is one so you put more pressure on the opposition further up the field.

Hi again Hough.. After playing with ur amazing tactics for a while i have been inspired to try make a tactic of my own... i have made some before but just some quick ones who usally don`t work... So i wonder if u and anybode else who makes tactics can give me some tips... whats the first thing u look at for example... what equipments u use and other things:)

I can understand that this maybe is a boring thing for u advanced tactics makers but it dont hurt to ask does it:)

Any tip is a good tip for an experienced fm`r but a newbie tactic maker...

First of all it depends on your team do you have good wingers? would you be better off with a narrow formation if you have good MC`s etc

Then once you have decide on a formation that suits the team your currently managing then decide on how you want to play

is your team one of the better in the league or weaker?

so decide on a more attacking or reserved form of play.

just have a read on the tactic and traing threads theres a ton on helpful post on there also have a read on thedugout website again plenty on there to help out .

also what i found helpful is to downlload a load of tactics in the same formation as yours and watch them play see what you like and try and put it into your tactic .

One final thing and i STRESS this you have to watch the match highlights in extended mode and see whats happening on the field , so if you concede a goal watch it a few times to see what went wrong

I played 11 league games with Arsenal, winning 9, drawing 1 and losing also 1. So far this latest tactic (24 May) of yours seems to do the trick just fine.

Still, you have exactly the same instructions for both central midfielders. There are early signs that make me think that this tactic may not get the best out of Fabregas in my game. His average rating is just average - 7.17. People in the Arsenal thread suggest playing him as an advanced playmaker with an attacking duty. Mr Hough, how did central midfielders perform in your test games? Would different CM settings make the tactic better? If yes, how would you change it?

tick playmaker on team instructions then have one of the mc`s as the playmaker.

although player ratings i would personally anyway take with a pinch of salt as they are not a very good indication on how well/bad a player is playing mate better of going into the match analysis and checking the players stats there.

For an example of how bad player ratings are just check the match statistic`s of a player with a low rating and actually see how many pass attempts /completions etc he has.

A few times a player in my team might knock the ball into his own net after its been kicked at the back of his head after a goal mouth scramble and hes got a low rating

Actually check what hes done over the entire match and he could have played well up untill the 89th minute lol making 90% of his passes talking well and shooting on target.

Someone should upload a tweaked 451 wingers, based on houghs 10.3...

theres no need for anything to be uploaded really all the information needed to alter it to a 451 or 442 has been posted its a 433 tactic so its not really far off 451 as such anyway mate.

I wish there was a tactic like this which had wingers AMAZING tactic, however feels a tad unrealistic. Take nothing away from Mr Hough though

Mate all you have to do if you want to play a 451 is move the left striker into the aml position and the same with the right striker

Possibly lower the mentality of the fullbacks and closing down as they wont be needed so much to provide the width up and down the flanks as you will have amr/l`s there patrolling

One other thing if you do try it out ive found that the main problem with conceeding goals is an attacker in the middle feeding a trough ball between your strikers so maybe remove tight marking off your back four

Lower the closing down of the DM to around 7 clicks to counter this problem as he will form a barrier in front of your back line

If the opposing teams fullbacks are causing your grief get your wingers to man mark them

If the opposing teams wingers are causing you grief then get your fullbacks to man mark them

Do the same if your using it as the origin tactic aswell

The corner routine is a backpost header and is very commen on tactics for a few FM's now.

I now there was a challenge keeper bug and a near post hearder bug and proberly this is a bug too but i don't think it's completly harmful to your game as you won't score 50 plus like you can with the man outside area bug.

Is it the 4-4-2 version you are using i haven't tried it yet

yes mate only changes i made when using your tactic as a 451 formation with AMR/L`s

was

1)Reducing the crossing on the fullbacks to sometimes.

2)Lowered the menatilty of the fullbacks by 3 or 4 clicks

3)Lowered the closing down of the fullbacks to the first click of own half i think mate

ALL in favour of putting Mr Hough and JP up for a Knighthood say I!!

Been using this tactic in my test save for a few games now and to be fair its awesome

one thing I notice is goals i get from set pieces now.

My question is as I have not looked at any threads refering to the corner exploit does this tactic take advantage of any set piece ME bugs?

In five games my Cb has scored 5 identical goals from corners , theres no problem really as i can always revert the set piece instructions back to default just wondering more than anything Mr Hough

Plus Ive tried altering the formation into a 451 and 442 and it still kicks ass haha

Once again a brilliant tactic well done both of you

Just a small tweak I have tried as the goalkeeper is set to defender collect set it to your DL or DR and take tight marking off that player otherwise they will be under pressure as soon as they recieve the ball with tight marking on .

Just an idea but its worked for me on my tactic

Mr Hough hope I may ask a question regarding man marking any particular reason you choose it over zonal ?

Also in my current season I decided to try zonal out on my own tactic and have conceeded 40 goals in the Premier league which is about 8 or 10 goals more than the seasons i used man marking do you also find that man marking is better is defence and zonal is more for attacking ?

Mr Hough is a legend lallalal lalalal Mr Hough is a legend llalalalal , enough of me singing sir hough as you will forever been now known im using your classic 4-3-3 tactic but moved the left and right strikers out onto the wing as (this is gonna sound stupid ) i like the look of 4-5-1 on the screen plus my team i support play that formation as well can you give any sort of advice on slight tweaks i can do to make it work im playing with swansea city aswell btw m8
