[Save games reverting to old version, data gets deleted]

I've fallen victim to this issue today, and lost my save six seasons in. Tried saving, but got the message in the screenshot below.  Tried reloading an earlier save and got a message saying I was unable to load the save.

I had tried the workaround, suggested earlier in this thread, of creating a new file with each save and had been deleting old files for fear of hitting a storage limit, but it hasn't worked and I have a broken game. I can’t create a new save file using 'save as' because I get the same error message.

I guess my save file got corrupted. But this is a game breaker for me. I'll keep an eye on these forums, but until I see that this problem is fixed, it's no more FM for me.
