As a tiny comfort I do find that that ups and downs, and trials and tribulations make for a more interesting read compared to steamrolling and winning everything all of the time. I'm sure you'll come back stronger next season.

Again, great job with the thread. Not just the FM game, but the whole presentation, lovely. I'm biased due to what I enjoy in career update threads, but this does indeed seem like the perfect ending for a narrative driven thread. Already, I'm looking forward to your next one.

Do you sell a lot of the players not destined for the first team, or do you just let their contracts run out? How much do non-first team player sales bring you in normally?

Also what's happening to my personal favorite, Ronnie Flood, I saw he was out on loan, will he be leaving the club soon?

Great thread already. I'm thinking of getting back into FM, haven't played since FM10. I love your detail and it does help me understand what's new, and how to approach it. Especially training is much more complicated since then, so I look forward to your analysis.

Back in 2011 I considered moving to Moscow, but ended up in Shanghai instead, funny how life turns out sometimes.

Love it, 08 to about 12 was where my football interest peaked (although it's coming slowly back again), and I remember the Pompey team, and story very well. Great write-up, I love stories like these, can't wait for the next installment.

I read through all your updates over the last few days. Great thread, really enjoying it.

Some thoughts:

- Danny Marriot, every time I saw his name in the best ever 11 (until I think 2 seasons ago) I just kept thinking what could have been. I assume he just stayed in the Vanarama South and then retired?

- Gibson, wow, what can I say that haven't been said already?

- That being said, I think my favorite Sophara player so far is Mbah, just kept on defying the doubters. Did he find a club to coach at?

- What is the deal with so many of your players getting snubbed for their national teams, especially for England.
