  1. OCT 2042 - Match Day 7 - Vs Leeds United A really tough result in front of another sell out on the island, as we come from behind to take the lead against the Whites. We got punished for not putting the game away and getting the third goal though, as the visitors caught us out late and spoiled our perfect home record. We hold 6th place, but we also have one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the table. Up next A tough match next up as we head to 6th place West Ham.
  2. SEP 2042 A pretty good month as we win two of three League games, and upset Arsenal to advance in the League Cup. We also have two more home sellouts, making it three from three to start the season. I can see another stadium expansion coming soon. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards Reward for Watson's hard work, taking out the Young Player of the Month, with Mountney taking out 3rd place. Internationals Plenty of players on duty again over the International break. We sit in 5th place for producing talent in top Leagues around the world. We are not last, but barely rate as a minnow in this comparison. A solid month financially as we benefit from the last player sale at the beginning of the month before the window closed. Leeds is a game we will be targeting to win, before we face two much tough challenges, then round out the month in the League Cup.
  3. Thanks! A huge upset, and while they didn't play their strongest team, neither did we, but still a great result, and showing that we continue to improve. Honestly, no. It's been a great start to the season, but we have only played two top sides, and lost to them both, our four wins have come against lower half teams. But having said that, we are winning the games that we should expect to win, not having a draw, or giving up late goals to lose. As above, continued improvement.
  4. SEP 2042 - Match Day 6 - Vs Blackburn Rovers A brilliant result as we run riot over Rovers, keeping our early season home form on a high. Four different goal scorers kept the scoreboard attendant busy, while a massive defensive effort blunted the visitors attack completely. We hold 4th in a pretty tight table. Up Next We host 15th place Leeds.
  5. SEP 2042 - League Cup 3rd Round - At Arsenal Our defensive improvements continue to shine as we put in a massive effort to hold the Gunners to a draw. A cracking goal from Ward gave us the lead, which we had given up by half time. The hosts pushed us hard in the second half, but neither side could find the net, so we went to penalties. Always a lucky dip in the shoot out, but young Keeper, Redmond, continued to show his improvements, pulling off two huge saves, to allow us to cause a massive upset and proceed to the next round. We will host Charlton in the 4th Round, who we have a slight edge over, particularly in recent meetings. Up next A return to League action as we host the struggling Blackburn.
  6. SEP 2042 - Match Day 5 - At Manchester City Another tale of so close yet so far, as we pushed one of the big clubs all the way, but ultimately went down. We put in a pretty big defensive effort to limit the Citizens to just the one goal on the hour mark. Unfortunately we were not able to create enough genuine chances to trouble the score board. We drop to 8th place. The upset of the season at Peterborough win their first game. I genuinely thought they were a chance of not winning a game all season. Up next A tough draw in the League Cup 3rd Round as we head to Arsenal.
  7. The beautiful game…that will give you multiple heart failures
  8. SEP 2042 - Match Day 4 - Vs Aston Villa A crazy match where we played brilliantly, had a comfortable lead, and then almost gave it up. We had built up a 4-1 lead by the hour mark, including Finnegan's first goal of the season, which he turned into a brace. The Villains kept coming at us though, scoring two quick goals, to make for a thrilling, but nervy final 15 minutes, but we managed to hang on and secure another three points. We continue our rise to 3rd place, although too early in the season to get too excited about that yet. Up next A tough match as we travel to the blue side of Manchester.
  9. AUG 2042 - Transfer Window We sold another player, as Adams moves to Stuttgart. He had fallen down the pecking order recently, and wanted a move to chase more first team football. When Stuttgart came with a over valued offer, we had no hesitation in sending him to a club that is not a League rival. We sent plenty of players out on loan to give them more playing time. 30 players out, but most of them were loans. We are finally not the lowest wages, but I suspect Peterborough may not be long for this League, judging by their start. There were a few other offers made, for players that I had no interest in selling, but I was surprised that West Ham gave up on Chambers so easily.
  10. AUG 2042 A great start to the season, despite the tight loss to the defending Champions, we win our next two matches, and advance in the League Cup. We break from tradition and actually managed to win a milestone game, as I notch up 1,100 games. We keep the money rolling in. A club record for season tickets, and a demolition of the 5,000 we sold last time we played a full season in Guernsey. Our 50% sell on clause when we sold Balogun to Liverpool pays again, as we get half of their own sell on clause now that Hertha BSC have sold him on to Leipzig. Some tricky games next month, but the schedule is not too taxing as yet.
  11. AUG 2042 - Match Day 3 - At Southampton A cracking result as we come from behind to take all three points at St Mary's. We fell behind early, but had equalised by the break. It looked like the points were going to be shared, when Chambers stole in to slot home a late winner to break the home fans hearts. We certainly left our mark on the match. We find ourselves in the lofty position of 7th, but we are also only two wins from last place. Up next We welcome 15th place Villa to the island.
  12. Good to see the steady growth continuing, just need to keep it up and start giving those bigger clubs a run for their money.
  13. AUG 2042 - League Cup 2nd Round - At Coventry City A heavily rotated squad runs riot over the Sky Blues. It was complete dominance, with Ward putting in a massive effort, two goals and three assists in the six goal hammering. We handed a club debut to young keeper Redmond, and while he didn't have a lot to do, he put in a solid performance, and kept a clean sheet. A tough draw for the 3rd Round as we head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal. We will have to overturn a terrible record if we want to continue our run of four straight Semi Final appearances. Up next We travel to 16th place Southampton.
  14. AUG 2042 - Match Day 2 - Vs Newcastle United What a welcome back to the island as we cause a massive upset, taking a tight win in front of our first sell out in the expanded stadium. It was one of our best defensive performances, as we shut down the Magpies completely. Just after the hour mark, young striker Kennedy, turned in a cracking volley to give us the lead, which we were able to hang on to and secure the three points. We move up to the mid-table, which should keep the Board happy. Up next We are off to Coventry as our League Cup campaign kicks off in the 2nd Round.
  15. AUG 2042 - Match Day 1 - At Tottenham Hotspur While we didn't get the result, it was a cracking match to kick off the season, as we came from behind twice to level. It was not to be though as the defending Champions showed their class in the end, but we sure gave them a run for their money. We are slowly but surely starting to show glimpses of improvement and might soon have these bigger clubs looking nervously over their shoulders. Not much to see here yet, although it might be a long season for Peterborough. Up next Our first home game of the season and we will actually be on the island, as we welcome Newcastle to Guernsey Stadium.
  16. AUG 2042 - League Cup 2nd Round Draw We enter the League Cup in the 2nd Round, and we will head to Coventry City. We have never met in the League, but we have knocked them out of the League Cup twice.
  17. We still have a bit of expansion room, so will be interesting to see how we go with crowd numbers this season.
  18. AUG 2042 - Final Season Preview We finish our friendlies with two more convincing wins, against decent opposition. Plenty more minutes in legs, and plenty more goals, with O'Connor continuing his World Cup goal scoring form. No entries on the top goal scoring odds, despite Finnegan finishing just one goal behind Golden Boot winner Dunderski. Finnegan was also the best player last season, but again, the Bookies don't rate any of our players. They do like some of our players in the Young Player odds. The Bookies still have us at 12th place, with Liverpool the favourites for the title. A tough start to the season as we face reigning Champions, Tottenaham away, before hosting Newcastle.
  19. Thanks Stu, we are getting closer to matching it with those bigger clubs. Haha, no news from the Board yet, so looks like we might actually get a season of Premier League football on the island
  20. JUL 2042 A cracking start to friendly season, with goals galore, positive results, and plenty of minutes in the legs. Internationals Our England Internationals made it all the way to the World Cup Final, where they would fall 3-1 to Germany. Transfers We sent several players on their way. They were all fringe players who wanted to move on for more first team chances, and we were able to cash in on them. We are moving towards mid-table in the match day revenue stakes. A brilliant start to the season financially, with season tickets going out the door in a hurry, while we collect fees for several transfer sell on clauses. We have a few more friendlies before the season proper kicks off.
  21. Shhhh!!! The season hasn’t started yet…still time for them to do something stupid and go for another expansion
  22. JUN 2042 - Off Season things Internationals Plenty of players on International duty as the World Cup continues to roll on. The Board offered and I accepted a new four year deal, with a £3k per week pay rise. A real heart in mouth moment as the top prospect, who had not yet signed his contract, became the target of offers from several offers from rival clubs. A few days later, we breathed a sigh of relief, as he decided he was more chance of getting game time with us, and signed his contract. We dodged a real nightmare scenario with that one. West Ham have been coming hard after Chambers, with the offers continuing to increase... The latest offer rose to over £141 million, which is just insane money, but I really want to keep one of our best young forwards. This would smash both their highest fee paid, and ours received. For now, the Board is staying out of it, and for his part, Chambers does not seem concerned that I have been turning the offers down, so I am going to continue down this road for now. We enjoyed a reputation boost, now ranked the 21st team in England. Season Preview A tough start to the season facing the reigning Champions, before hosting Newcastle to start the season. The Bookies have us at 12th, which is our highest ever rank to begin the season, which has us at about mid-table, where the Board wants us. The money rolls in to begin the season. Friendly season is about to begin.
  23. 2041-2042 Season Review - Attributes The favourite time of year where we can see how the players have progressed, or not, and see how the squad might be taking shape for next season. Goalkeepers Redmond becomes our first ever 80 point goalkeeper, although his CA is still a fair way behind Hamilton, but equal with Al-Habib. Steady progress all around, although Mason appears to have peaked, and missed his chance to become a first choice keeper. Defenders Steady improvement all around, with plenty of solid options available, which is necessary as we are pretty hard on defenders. Midfielders We have a lot of midfielders on the books, and there are plenty of suitable options available for the rotation. Forwards It's interesting that the attributes rank Finnegan as our 5th best striker, but he is our best option as far as putting the ball in the net goes. Plenty of solid options available, and continued growth. Continued growth as our average goes over the 70 point mark, while our average age has gone above 21 for the first time in nearly two decades. Happy to see how the squad is coming along, and we continue to improve as a club, holding us in good stead to keep trying to push upwards in the Premier League.
  24. 2041-2042 Season Review - Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards A massive 33 goals for Finnegan, 31 in the League, but worryingly, only one other player registered double figures. Finnegan is 10 appearances away from breaking Docherty's record, however, I am not sure anyone will ever break Ross Allen's record for goals. Hamilton and Finnegan extend their own respective Premier League records.
