I am currently managing both a club and a national team at the same time. My club played a friendly (managed by the assistant) while I'm away on international duty.
After the friendly I got a match report that shows that the club fielded my regular starting team, where the vast majority are away on international duty, but they played anyway.
This has only happened this one time, and it was the first international break after I started dual-managing club and country.
