I'm not very well versed with Macs, but it's only a 6th generation I5 which is a little outdated these days.
Ok scrap that idea then! Finally, today I’ve had a look at some of the 15.6” machines, and noticed many offer dedicated graphics cards for roughly the same price e.g. https://www.box.co.uk/FX504GD-E41275T-ASUS-TUF-FX504GD-E41275T_2458989.html
My question is: if I could put up with the bigger size, what kind of advantage does this give me in terms of running games? Will it be significantly better than the HP 13” laptop highlighted earlier or not much difference?
Thanks for all the advice, very helpful!

Thinking about the HP that was recommended earlier. Just out of interest, how would this MacBook Air cope with FM2020? https://www.johnlewis.com/2017-apple-macbook-air-13-3-intel-core-i5-8gb-ram-128gb-pcie-based-ssd/p3081001?sku=236643138&&s_kwcid=2dxLIA-EHT&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhcC_1rPM5QIVxLTtCh13gwmuEAQYASABEgLup_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Has an i5 processor which should provide good CPU processing?

Would 13.3" be ok, or does it need to be 13.0" and under?

13.3” is fine. That looks great on specs thanks.
Only other thing is that I’ve had a few bad experiences with HP in the past. Could give them another go though.

Looking for a new machine to play FM as the old one sadly died on holiday this year!
Trouble is, I need a screen size 13 inch or under but many specs leave a lot to be desired. I have considered moving to an Apple MacBook Air as my iPhone and iPad have been fab (and I’m sick of windows updates) but have heard they are not good for running FM? Can anyone give an opinion on this?
If not a M.Air, then any other suggestions for a windows machine that would be suitable? Looked at the Dell XPS 13 but just under a grand seems pricey for what it is...

The Dell 14" laptops have caught my eye this week during my search...need some advice though on which one?
This https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/dell-inspiron-14-5000-14-amd-ryzen-5-laptop-256-gb-ssd-silver-10193797-pdt.html
or https://www.johnlewis.com/dell-inspiron-14-5490-laptop-intel-i5-processor-8gb-ram-512gb-ssd-14-inch-full-hd-silver/p4789683
Obviously the latter is significantly more pricy, but I am a little nervy about going with the cheaper one due to the fact it has an AMD processor - feel safer with Intel somehow? Can anyone offer their opinion on this and whether the i5 (plus the larger SSD) would be worth the upgrade? Thanks!
