  1. Apologies if this has been covered before but advice/opinions needed. I've finally stumbled across a tactic that's working great for me. I'm not a tactical whizz by any means, so often I resort to downloading and tweaking if needed, tactics from the forums. Most always seem to come with the get stuck in team mentality and/or tackle harder player instructions. Does removing these seriously impact the tactics performance? Whilst it's great to find a winning tactic, I'm someone who hates getting too many yellow and red cards which are inevitable with these instructions on. Thoughts welcome.

  2. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but with FM20 I don't know if its just me, but maintaining players CA and PA seems to be a lot more difficult this year. I'm currently managing Sheffield Wednesday in the top flight. Just about to win the league, and I've got a team of regens that originally had great CA & PA but they seem to be losing them pretty quickly. I've got a decent coaching team who I leave training to. Are there any decent schedules out there that can help buck this downward trajectory of ability?

You can try to mitigate in mtch by removing hard tackle from the offending player, or make a sub. If winning a game easily then take hard tackle and get stuck in off to avoid any further un necessary cards.

When you get a red card you can use a SUS type tactic by changing to regroup and hold shape. This tends to encourage the AI to attack and leave spaces at the back.

I used this in EC Final after Mane was set off after changing we scored and won cup

Thanks Knap. I've already got removing hard tackling off all players, just got the get stuck in option on, Will take your advice and remove that off if winning comfortably. I also try player shouts to all to calm down, but they seem to be like disobedient kids and still get more bookings anyway ha. Like I say though, great tactic other than that. I took Macclesfield to the Championship in successive seasons with it, now with Barnsley after getting headhunted and having great success with them too.

  4. Hi. I'm using the Northern Soul tactic to great effect. I cannot fault it's attacking and defensive balance, however, the amount of yellow cards per game, and often resulting red cards is spoiling it somewhat. I originally removed hard tacking from the player instructions that it was applied to, as well as removed get stuck in. However the tactic lost it's edge so I reverted back to putting the get stuck in instruction on minus the hard tackling player instructions. This saw an upturn in results again, but the ill-discipline is back in full force again. Is there a happy medium to cut down on the yellows and reds without taking anything away from the tactic? Any advice much appreciated!
