Looks like a corrupted install. I'd suggest doing the following:

Can you please first delete your cache folder (It can be found here - C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\Caches)

Then delete your preferences files as shown here (It can be found here - C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\Preferences)

Once that's done, uninstall and reinstall the game.

If that option does not work then try this:

download and install this net framework update from here - http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9831986

Then download this to make sure your DirectX is up to date (even if you've recently done this, please try again) - Offline installer, will need downloading, run the exe then unzip into a folder (create your own folder so you know where it's located) and once the files populate in this folder, run DXSETUP - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Do you use anything like START10 or BORDERLESS from Steam? What taskbar items do you have?

What was my insult? Was it mentioning Miles? If so, I wouldn't say insult - just a criticism of him. I don't think he's good for the game moving forward - but anyway no problem. I shall accept your warning! lol

I was talking about them not turning up for training cos of fallouts with team-mates or because they're unhappy with manager or reasons like that, "Aubameyang was unhappy with his treatment after yesterdays game and has skipped training, do you want to fine him?" sort of thing.

I am yet to see any player not accept a fine for breaking code of conduct either and I've played 300+ hours now, is it possible?

I mentioned it what my suggestion was? To have players should turn up late for training etc. or kick up a fuss over being fined with the code of conduct and stuff like that.

You should be able to negotiate with the board when you sign a new contract, for example, I an towards the end of the season and am likely to get promotion to the premier league and have been offered a 5 year plan telling me to at least finish mid table in championship,,

I doubt any of this or any other feature except some coincidentally, be added.

Why can't we tell a player we have no use for him anymore or he costs too much money so we have to list him? You have to disgruntle the whole team if you want to sell a good player cos he goes and causes problems with the rest of the team. You can 'warn' him that you will list but only with a reason like "if you don't improve training I will have to transfer list you", why not have options just to be able to tell him you have no space for him and stuff like that? Give the player an explanation as to why you are going to transfer him, then he can respond saying he will renew contract for a lower wage if you let him stay (if you told him he's costing too much) or something like that.


I would like to see a lot more interactions added with the media, different ones. These ones are the same as last years, with the same responses. Very boring and mostly skipped.

More player interactions and a way to apologise to a player if you transfer listed him and he was unhappy about it and then you changed your mind. More general team interactions to talk with your team. Maybe a way to apologise to a player that you accidentally warned him or changed your mind about something that you'd changed that made him unhappy.
