  1. I have had success with MLS but as others have said it's complicated.  You definitely have to scout for young players and sometimes you just have to sell a player if they want to leave or when a cheaper replacement is ready.  The AI has some issues with the salary cap so leave a roster or 2 for players that are suddenly released around registration day.  Also look in Europe for players who are eligible for the USA and not playing much.  Those players may not want to sign straight away but you can usually get them on loan for a season.

  2. Question for the OP.....Do you have at least 615K in salary cap space?  I was going to mention I had the same issue but  I just remembered that I need to create some cap space as I'm 100K short

  3. Agreed do not start with Austin as that team will be horrible.  Homegrowns and reserve players do not count against the cap so it's a good Idea to keep getting young players who can provide some depth and cap relief.  Keep and eye on the waiver wire as the AI clearly makes some mistakes with the other teams in terms of releasing players.  I'm currently managing New York Red Bulls as I have been a STH for 15 years and I know the league pretty well.  Use the trial option often as the Draft is useless but you can trade draft picks for GAM
