Like, I've just signed a 17 year old 6" 7 centre back, he has double digits already in passing, vision & his mentals so I'm going to try & develop him as a defensive central mid. With his height he should be a beast in the middle of the park in a few years if all goes to plan   

Yep, this is a good workaround, but still does not fix the whole problem. There are so many natural wingbacks IRL (e.g. Firpo, Alonso, Marcelo, Alexander-Arnold) and they don't naturally appear in the future. E.g. Alexander-Arnold has 18 (IIRC) crossing in FM19 by default aged 19, you can't even find one young decent wingback with 12 crossing in the future. Also, AI does not train them that way, so when you're managing national team e.g. France in the future, you are stuck with wingbacks that have 9-10 crossing, even the top ones.

And most of top young keepers IRL are sweeper keepers, the same goes for ball-playing defenders.

As more and more people and teams in the football world use modern metrics, FM should have them as well (at least for user matches). Metrics such as xG, PPDA, packing.

As this has been talked about for years, there are some roles (ball-playing defender, false nine, attacking wingback, sweeper keeper) that are pretty rare for newgens. E.g. it's almost impossible to find top-level natural attacking wingback in year 2040. The same goes for other roles mentioned here.

Modern teams have often very different formations when defending or attacking. Would be great if this would be implemented.

The only thing I really wanted for years is to have natural newgen ball-playing defenders, sweeper keepers and attacking wingbacks. Seems like it won't happen this year though

Check major revenue sources (probably players sold and TV revenue). New stadiums are expensive and may not justify incremental revenue with gate receipts. All that's in the Finances/Income page.

Thanks for caring! I've been at this club for 20+ years and it's the richest one in the world, so finances are not a problem for us

I train a club that has a stadium built in 2024. The year is 2042 now, for the past five (or even more) seasons we had sell-outs every game in the league. Also, we have no stadium sponsor.

But I have no option to ask board for building new stadium. Anybody knows when does this option appear? Which criteria did I not meet?

How I miss Europa Universalis IV style, when all options are shown, but the ones disabled show the list of criteria.
