[Trouble scoring]

I thought I’d give a bit of an update of anyone is interested. So I was having multiple chances a match and not scoring and I was getting so stressed. I was dropping points left right and centre and couldn’t think what to change. I was playing a high tempo 4-2-3-1 and, after I changed the tempo to medium and added the instruction ‘work ball into box’ my season was transformed. I won the league and finished as top scorers just with those two tweaks. Thank you for the help you gave me with it. I’m now in the premiership so we’ll see how that goes

Thank you for the replies everyone - much appreciated but I think I’ve sussed it!!   smplfc123 kind of touched on it but I thought to myself I’m having lots of possession, lots of shots so I’ll start to work the ball into the box. 
 

also, I’ve never had such good advice from my assistant manager! Lol. He told me to lower the tempo to help retain possession in the final 3rd. I had been playing at a high tempo and I’ve gone to standard. 
 

instantly I won my next three games comfortably and they were matches for I would usually lose/draw.

[Trouble scoring]

I’m playing as Reading on FM20 and I’m hovering round the play offs in the Championship but if I could take my chances I’d be storming the league. What am I doing wrong? I have Laurence Shankland upfront as a poacher, finishing 17, playing 4231 and create a hatful of chances but waste 99% of them. About 3 times I’ve lost after having 20 chances to the other team having 4 or 5. I’ve drawn a load with stats like that too. 
 

does anyone have any tips on what I could do? If you need any other info let me know!

[Injury risk update]

I recently finished a game where I was 10 years into it and started a new game. On my new game I’ve started getting an injury risk update and I realised I don’t remember getting one on my last game. On both I had a Head of Sport Science which is who gave me the report but I don’t understand why I wasn’t getting one on my previous game. I couldn’t see anything in staff responsibilities. I’m playing FM20. 

[Scouting questions...]

Is it better to scout a region or individual countries? 

For example, I want to scout Scandinavia so should I just set an assignment scouting Scandinavia or one where the scout scouts Norway, Sweden, Denmark etc?

Lastly, should I limit scouts to scouting say 3 countries/competitions at a time?

I got FM20 for Christmas. Before this I was playing FM16. At the end of matches on FM16 it would give updates like “so and so made his 100th appearance/debut/conceded etc”. 

 

I haven't seen anything like that in FM20 though or am I missing it?

[German national team fake]

The German national players are fake players, rather than selecting from real players. Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you for replying. That doesn’t seem right though that you can only change the club vision in a pregame editor. Surely that’s an in game thing to change?

I’ve just got the new football manager and I’m loving it. Last one I had was 2016 so I’m getting to grips with it all. I just started my go and I’m in the club vision meeting screen but I can’t change anything under club culture. I want to develop youth players but my only objective is to sign players u23 for the first team. Is there a way of changing it? Or is it because I’ve just started I have to accept their vision and prove myself before I can change that?

One of my philosophies is give youth a chance and I was always highly rated in it. I had a press conference before a match and they said the crowd resent that I’m not picking youth. I was shocked and looked and it was 24%. I am 4 years in to a go so the players that have come through aren’t quite there but there are 3 or 4 players that came through my academy I’m bringing on as subs for the last 15-20 minutes. Do they need to start games or is this a bug? FYI I’m still playing FM16. I’ve never had a low rating and am not sure how it’s dropped so much. Only the previous month it was 68%. 

The 3-4 players I mentioned I’m playing are regens but I also have 2 real players that came through the academy in my team. Do they count?
