  1. Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out.

I'm attempting to flesh out and complete a reserve/youth structure within DanFMDatabases' Level 12 database for my own use. I personally hate having U23 and U18 sides that can only play ******** friendlies. However, once converted to advanced rules (Dan's edits are done in the basic editor) the editor refuses to verify the file. The exact error message is below.

Vanarama National League North/South, Promoted and relegated teams do not match up for Vanarama National League North/South (3 relegated) and Regional Premier Divisions (6 promoted) (extra teams requested =0)

Check to make sure Regional Premier Divisions uses Flexible Format Rules

I know it is some form of dynamic promotion/relegation due to the fact that there are is one northern Regional Premier Division, one central Regional Premier Division, and two southern Regional Premier Divisions. I'm fine with that, and obviously the files works, but the computer won't get past the check, so I can't fill out the youth system.

    Solutions Attempted:

    1. Enabled Flexible Rules Format for all Regional Premier Divisions and Parent Comp - No change.
    2. Eliminated Automatic Promotion from Regional Premier Divisions - Received the error message: Need a minimum of 84 and a maximum of 88 teams when organising teams in the Regional Premier Divisions - found 90 teams. I made the minimum/maximum teams for all Regional Premier Divisions 20/24 instead of 21/22. No change to the error message. Additionally, there are only 87 teams in the Regional Premier Divisions, so I have no idea where the additional three teams are coming from to trigger this message.
    3. Restructure Promotion/Relegation - I eliminated all variations of the Vanarama North/South divisions (24 teams, 23 teams, 22 teams etc.) and set them min/max 24 teams each. Modified Regional Premier Division's promotion system to match. Central and Northern teams directly to Vanarama North, Southern teams to Vanarama South. The editor flagged the missing variants, which leaves me to believe they are hard coded, or something?
    4. Various Combinations/Minor Corrections - I've attempted a number of minor corrections, such as changing the min/max teams promoted from Regional Premier Divisions, or altering the minimum of promoted teams from parent competition. All without success.

The editor file is attached. Any guidance, or resources, would be greatly appreciated. I've spent somewhere around 12 hours trying to sort this and I'm stumped.

    Thank you so much!

I am not really sure about this one. In my awards, I found the same thing. Duplicating or creating new awards would be sometimes greyed out, for no supposed reason.

If you think it's who it's operated by, then try changing them. Or change the Stats used, number of places, make sure there's a nation selected, etc.

Or, it may be that if it's the Fifth Tier, there are only grey players, and no one to give the award to?

I appreciate the insight my friend.

I've created a custom Andorra database and can't even get the awards to award. Between that and my Kosovo troubles I'm giving up. The award creation process is so mysterious and fickle. Drives me nuts!

  3. When searching for FM2020 tactics what is revealed is a lot of gengenpress, tiki-taka, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, and some variation of the 5-3-2 WB. Entertaining and high scoring football obviously has its appeal, but what do you use when you're looking to hold onto that clean sheet with ten minutes to go? What philosophy, formations, and roles do you use to go hours and hours without conceding a chance?

  4. I've created a five tiered Kosovo Database that is humming along perfectly outside of awards. For each level I duplicated the Superleague's (First Tier) awards, changed the name, and competition. However, in the Fifth Tier the Best XI award stays greyed out for at least five years. In the Fourth Tier the Best XI, Manager of the Year, and Young Player of the Year remain greyed out for at least five years.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with who the award is operated by, but I'm not entirely sure. Googling and youtubing came up with no solutions regarding this problem, or even a custom award tutorial beyond merely describing each box. I resolved this issue in my custom Faroe Islands Database last year, but can't seem to crack it this time.

  5. Every year I create a pre-season competition in honor of my grandfather. It is an 8 team league that plays one round in July, pulling from a pool of 20 teams.

I created the FM2020 version as an exact mirror of the FM2019 version, minus the options that have been removed from the FM2020 editor.

The file tests fine in the editor out to 2035 and is verified. When I run it in game the game crashes on scheduling day without fail. Everytime.

Any ideas? I'm going to download some successful pre-season competitions tonight and see where I've misstepped. Thank you!
