Ok so he wont need the disc at all as im not sure if his computer has a disc drive and like i say he plays through steam usually but the price difference from the physical copy to steam is half price.

Can anyone advise if i buy the game on disc(local shop only sell disc version) do i actually need to use the disc to play or install the game, I would like to buy my brother the game for Christmas and i know he plays through steam but the disc version is on sale in the local shop for half the price of the steam version
