  1. Ive been using the Classic tactics for a while now, and i've dominated with every team, be it Beveren, Nott'm Forest, Fulham, Hearts, England, FC Utrecht, or my current 'project' Manchester City. My goal with Citeh is to limit non British players in the squad to a maximum of 5 by the start of season 4, the only exceptions being foreign youths you have bought young and trained for more than 3 years. Im in december of season 2 currently, and last season for the first time i went undefeated in the Premier League. In the off season i have limited my purchases to youth players but im bringing in a couple players for cover in the next window-Kyle Walker and Gourcuff, who i scored for 14.5Mill and couldnt resist.

Kevin Davies is an amazing target man for this formation, amazing both with England when i managed them and here with City. Fans were complaining when i bought him but 29 goals and 29 assists in season one with an Overall Average of 7.90 was enough to win over even the unhappiest fan. All the strikers were amazing, and the team really gelled beautifully. When i brought in Keita (Offered to me for 4.7MGBP) it took everything to the next level. My only loss of the year came in the 5th round of the FA cup to Newcastle: i was playing most of my bench due to injuries and tiredness, and in the first 20 minutes all 3 midfielders were injured and had to be subbed. NUFC were then awarded a penalty, and although we hit the woodwork over and over, we just couldn't quite score.

All in all we went 47 games unbeaten before finally losing to Liverpool 1-2 at Anfield in season 2.

The only tweaks i made to the tactic was to bring the FB closing down instruction back to Own Half, and set both CMs to Box2Box instructions. I also set the Target Man as Attack and set both other strikers to Poacher.

    The Current Squad:

    GK:Hart/Given/Smithies

    LB:Bridge,Mattock,Lescott

    RB:Onuoha,Toure,Richards, Mancienne

    CB:Shawcross/Jagielka/Lescott

    CB:Richards/Toure/Lescott

    DMC:Rodwell/Cattermole/Mancienne

    MC:Ireland/Wilshere/Shelvey

    MC:Keita/Cattermole/Johnson*

    ST:Adebayor/Delfouneso/Jo

    ST:Davies/Adebayor/Lukaku

    ST:Tevez/Lukaku/Robinho

*Johnson is terribly injury prone in my game, and gets very little time. A shame, i'd have liked to develop him, but im going to sell his ass, maybe in January if i can find a buyer.I'm also going to sell Ireland to make room for Gourcuff, and Robinho to anyone who will take him for a decent price.

    Other subs: Reo-Coker,Kompany,Caicedo.

    Youth prospects:

GK:Smithies,Boucher,Marcos Gomez Garcia, Vasilijevic, Lung jr, Courtois, Button, Mentel, Liam O'Brian

FBs: Simone De Marco, S Irwin, Ben Mee, Nathan Baker,T Skosgrud,K Trippier, Helan

    CBs: Boyata, Veseli,Mustafi,S Mcdougall, C Aravena,Yilmaz,

    DMC: Joe Allen

CMs: Danny Smart,Adam Clayton, James Ashton, Joan Angel Roman,Weiss, A Pepper

    STs: Nlundlu, Guidetti, C.Wickham,A.Spear, D Ball, A Nimley-Tchuimeni,K Oyenuga,Vaccari, Harry Kane,F Kroos,A Stefansson

It's a real crapshoot on how these guys will turn out, currently i am playing them in friendlies against decent european teams during the season between league games and they seem to be doing well.

  2. Ive been using this tactic with Fulham, I found Tylers tactics great in FM 09, and very solid in '10. I usually tweak a little bit to suit my team, but in the main i use these almost exactly. I wonder how many people who didnt like this tactic actually followed his instructions and used the training, and made sure they played players with stats closest to what he recommends for the positions?

Season 1 i started with TBs tactics at the Highlighted Sunderland game, and ive been using them ever since - its brought a lot more consistency to my team's performances.
