  1. Am looking for some advice and input on my current tactic with Philadelphia in the MLS. Long story short, joined midway through the season and as such decided to keep to the formation the previous manager used. This was a 442 Diamond without any wingers. After a bit of experimentation I finally settled on the following roles for my team.

Unfortunately I've had limited success working with this formation ultimatley costing the team a place in the playoffs. When playing FM I'm much more of a systems person, I'd rather build a team around a system than a system around a team and as such am not majorly concerned about the players suiting/not suiting the tactic atm. However I was wondering if anyone could provide any advice in the following three areas

    • Player Roles - Should I be making any adjustments here? Any roles that seem to contradict each other?
    • TI's - I've been toying with moving the line of engagement to pressure the opposition more in buildup as I seemed to be conceding a lot of assists via through balls from the center and width.
    • In game adjustments - This is something I've always struggled with but am wondering what adjustments you would make in scenarios such as protecting a lead or chasing the game? My team seemed to concede a lot of late goals which cost us some big points and was ultimatley the reason why we didn't achieve a playoff place.

I'm also interested in any discussion about getting narrow/wingerless formations to work, as before this save it's something I've never really attempted in a back 4 before.
