mcclarke great run also, just need to find a bit more edge in international tournaments and you will make the hall of fame as well.
But a question here for those of you who are far into the challenge. How good is your reputation? Mine is 80% at the moment (4 golden stars). Still when applying for jobs there seem to be a bug. Real Madrid laughed at me. Then gave me an interview which I aced, and then got the job. But they laughed at my initial approach. Anyone else experienced this?
I've nodged up all I can with Italy in my save and moved to Ivory Coast so can build for that tourney (2years i think) - regarding the rep I'm almost maxed I think its 95% i dont have the game loaded to check exactly. I find if you declare interest in big clubs with a manager in place they laugh off interest but interviews can go well. I didnt get Real Madrid despite 2 interviews but that could be because I state what my vision is (possession) not their vision. - but they still use the vision for the club fine rejection letter lol

Don't Like How It Goes Over 2 Season's
lol its not that like i said in one of my earlier posts I plan to make my final top division a bottom-top division and build the club up (im thinking of Spain so i have to raise up and defeat real/barca) just seems like an awkward tournament, losing out on the NA title after walking the league left me a little bitter

All this talk of South Africa is making me fear it that may well be my final destination lol

So after leaving Jeonbuk I intended to go for South Africa next but I noticed a job opening in Spain that was too good to turn down (in theory) Barcelona had came 4th and sacked their manager so I applied for the job and after a short wait I had an interview... but then the Real Madrid job opened up and I applied for that; Barcelona offered me the job and I delayed them for a week; Real Madrid gave me an interview and whilst I was waiting Barcelona came back - I refused preferring to go to Real Madrid but... Real Madrid decided they didn't want me so I missed the opportunity.
Despite this minor miss-step I was doing well with Italy and after scrapping through an easy game on Penalties we went onto beat France in the final! Euro Champions! I was desperate to tick of more internationals so really happy now. I'm going to stick with the squad and hope I can take down the WC too before moving Internationally. In the meantime I'm waiting & watching for a job to open up in SA ... or a solid team in Germany/France/Spain. Feeling quite stupid for turning down Barcelona but let's face it - I rejected Barcelona how many people can say that?
However, with every downside their is an upside I'm getting the opportunity to rectify an earlier mistake. My first job was with Tolima Real and I got sacked in the first season, nearly 30years later and I've returned but this time they are in the First Division.
When I took over from Tolima that had only a few points and were sat 19th, our results improved straight away but unfortunately alot of draws so we didn't sky rocket up the leage and finished in 17th. I'm ok with this though as mid-season meant I couldnt change the squad. My plan is to strengthen during the off-season and make a push for a much better position next season. They offered me a decent set of budgets so things should go smoother this time round. Second season went much better - I brought in a number of decent players and expected a long and ultimately disappointing season but that didn't happen, in the first stage I led the league the entire way then lost in the finals. Second half we again led the league and wrapped up 1st with time to spare. Continuing from solidifying that I was able to win the Colombian Cup & Second Stage Playoffs to claim the Championship. This is the biggest achievement on my bucketlist, but I do think reputation must play a huge part because I expected this to take a couple of seasons. Im thinking for my final top division title/cup I might take a bottom division team and work them up.
Italy have been great we are running a nice undefeated streak with only 2 draws, after the Euro we had the Confed and we ran well through it eventually beating Germany (the current WC holders) & Brazil (current world #1) we have qualified for the WC from a v.poor group so I just need to remain upbeat we should coast through the group stage because i've been put in with Mali, Serbia & South Korea - I'm loving the international side moving along.
Unfortunately, I have work and exams so my next update wont be until after the 3rd, I'll still be playing but cant afford to clock in the hours.

Well for those that have followed my save I have some breaking news... it's not a big win (although i've had one) its the new club I am managing.... I am returning to Tolima Real!
I said initially I intended to return and its been a long time but im back their now, they are in the Columbian First Division with 6pts out of 9games. Time to turn this around and fix what I broke lol

I had put it on originally but took it off, didn't feel value coming in 2nd overall and not playing out the full season.
Side note - Jobs are Real Madrid & Barcelona both opened up after they finished 2nd/3rd so Spain may be next up for a quick swing by.
-Thanks for spotting that i hadn't updated the cups lol this tracker is driving me crazy i keep losing track of what i change when I add stuff

Side-note - Removed c1c from my domestic cups due to 1 per country.
I moved into Mexico aiming to take the NACL in a short swing by visit since the team had qualified through the group and finished 6th in the First Stage of the season. We had a solid season coming 1st in the Second Stage but I don't count it as a league win since overall we finished x. We did however make through to the NACL final on away goals which we then scrapped through. Despite finishing the closing stage in 1st we failed to win the semi's but im ok with that as its not a particular league I want to add to the list. I decided to keep pushing forward so will be leaving Mexico behind in search of a bigger club!
I decided to take a job in South Korea, Jeonbuk were up for grabs and accepted my offer. The previous manager was sacked for under performing in the league (sat 6th), I took control with the team still in the Asian Champions League & FA Cup, it was too late to salvage the season for the title but I did manage to secure second place quite safely. We also took both the domestic cup and champions league so that's two more on the tally. I plan to stick around another year though I want an asian title on my league list. I purchased a number of replacements when I first got the job so looking forward to their arrival in January, might need another Striker though as I only have 1 solid option up front.
After getting both the cups I wanted with Jeonbuk the main goal was the league which we got with ease with about 8games to spare. We retained the Champions Cup but I've decided to resign before the CWC QF and look in Africa for the final champions league I need (ACL). I don't have much to write about this season but Italy are doing well, Qualified for Europe with ease and won the International League which was a nice boost. I am hopeful we could win the Euro. I figure Italy are a feasable World Cup winner too but I dont want to push my luck because Argentina & Brazil have been holding the top spots for a while now.
Looking at the to-do list (again), I need... France, Germany, Spain, South Africa & Columbia (as promised) and if I get all of those I'll still be a domestic cup short so maybe somewhere exotic. I aim to do South Africa next but if the opportunities at some easy clubs arise I might take a pop to continue the progress. Although I do fear stepping into France & Spain because I think their top teams are quite tough.

If i can finally make some progress on the International front I might pull it off cos im using fm16. I just got the Italy job so fingers crossed in a few years I'll have some.

Yeah that makes sense just wanted to check, I got the NACL last season and then managed to get the jeonbuk job they aren't going to win the league because they were 6th when i took it on but they were in both fa cup & asian champions league so incase I win i wanted to make sure. Regardless I will stick out the contract and try get the league title before I move on again

Query about another policy now.
Winning leagues/cups etc do you have to be managing from the start or is midway enough, I ask because I remember someone (cant find post) winning a cup after taking over in the semi finals. Since my last post I've won other competitions where I took over in the Quarters and the current club is in Semi finals (which im winning) - I don't mind sticking round to defend the titles and im tempted to see out the contract anyway cos of the interviews "so many clubs in short time" stuff, but before I put them on the tracker I wanted confirmation.

In Mexico you have 2 chances a year to win the league, both the apertura and clausura. It's only winning the playoff at the end of each season that counts though. Finishing top at the end of the league segment doesn't count.
Actually not all the Mexican teams enter the Mexican Cup, but it still counts because its the only domestic cup in Mexico.
The domestic cups have to be from 10 different nations, as per post 1, so mclarke has only 4 domestic cups towards the challenge.
I will update my tracker to display 4 but mayihavecookie has both fa cup and c1c in his final post for completing the challenge
Is this why he had to get 11?

I've updated for next post lol I rewrote that like 5 times cos i wasnt looking at my screenshots whilst writing

I left Man United and travelled all the way over to Argentina for a season with Estudiantes, they were media predicted as 1st but sitting 14th when I took the job. The board expected a top-half finish so I delivered finished on top of all the other teams lol. I was tempted to stick around for a 2nd season and take a pop at the domestic cup but im going to move on, hopefully try to keep moving as soon as I win division in hopes of catching a team that I can do both in 1 season with (or build them up to win over a few seasons grabbing cup in process). I have no doubt i'll hit my 10 divisions and be short on cups but meh can move around some more lol
I took a job over in Norway at Rosonberg, their objectives were quite strict, Win the League, Win the Norwegian Cup but hell they were my objectives too I figure if they expect it should make for an easy year. I took on the job signed a player from my wales squad and away we went, smooth sailing. I had one or two small struggles but nothing to write home about this was my own fault for allowing my players to play with mild injuries that turned into longer ones, but I was able to keep winning despite no depth. The league went too easy to be fair we hit 1st with our first game and next moved from that position finishing the league 21pts ahead of the guys in 2nd.
During all of this I took on the Wales job, nothing much was floating around and I didn't expect to win any cups with them but I though Qualifying for Europe was a solid goal albeit hard to achieve so I set around making them use my style and we had some positive results including a win over France! We finished our group in 2nd with 15pts, I didn't expect to win though sharing the group with France. The problem with International management is their aren't many teams capable of winning the tournaments and the jobs show up very rarely. I do hold a small fear I may achieve everything but the International targets, I'll stay at Wales but if a better opportunity opens up I'll have to switch over.
Looking over the challenge list I need Germany, France, Spain, Mexico (NACL) Asia and Africa to go so very minimum of 6 more seasons but with the Internationals im guessing another 20years lol Although now its time to curb the number of leagues loaded and to focus on ticking them all. Will keep columbia loaded for Tolima Real though

Did anyone else find it difficult getting a club job when they were manager of an international team only? Or maybe my reputation isn't high enough yet.
Yeah they kept asking how i could manage both a club and international - they don't like it with low rep
0 -
Haven't you won the Malaysian League as well, so there should be 3 league wins?
Nope unfortunately Malysia has a higher division (super league i think its called) but im sure they will come thick & fast now since my rep is high I can pretty much pick the roles I want without much rejection. I'm hoping to manage spain if the job comes up, maybe germany they would be teams capable of multiple international tournaments.

This year I moved over to England, the Manchester United job came up and given the funds they tend to have I figured it would be a good time to grab some of those international tournaments, although I didn't do my due diligence and realize they have been out of that scene for a while... there last league title being in 15/16 - The board wanted us to compete for the Continental tournaments but they through a big budget my way so I decided to spend big (in excess of 200mil) - but we got rewards for it, League Title, Capital One Cup & FA Cup. I did find though that getting the win became a late second half thing after we clinched the title with 8-9games to go. I have sold one of my central defenders who was an important player and need some quality depth for my wings, so I'll be spending more but I'm planning to ship a few low quality players. Hopefully the club wont mind if I retain the title and challenge internationally.
I also stepped back into International management with Mexico, short spell though just won the Gold Cup then left to go for Nigeria try tag a second international achievement. However, when Nigeria offered the job I decided to pass for now - hoping for something better.
Still keeping my eye out for new international jobs but Man U have defended the title and beat last years points tally, I cant help but feel its a lack of a feat as I have a huge budget at my disposal but they were wallowing in mid-table obscurity and absent from the International scene so theirs kind of a come-back king mentality brewing in me. We narrow skipped past Barcelona in the Champions Cup but they are currently 8th in their league, I did play with 2 injured strikers in the 2nd leg so was fortunate to escape. Shortly after that a 6-1 win against Stoke secured the title early for us.
My final year with Man United and I only had one target, Club World Championship. I waited and waited for the draw, survived a board takeover whilst waiting around for it to inevitably arrive to realize I only get 2 games lol The Semi-final was a walk didn't make a single sub and creamed the weaker opposition. The final was against INT and despite controlling possession and have 5x more shots it was a close fought match and we took the lead in the 84rd minute then sealed it with a third on the 88th minute for a 3-1 victory. This victory unlocked the World Renowned achievement and im now ranked #17 in the world.
I decided to resign from Manchester United as theirs little else to gain so I'll be looking for some other clubs, time to press on with some top division titles in the coming years. I also need to find a decent International team I can stick with hopefully a European powerhouse so I can target the Euro and World Cup with the same team. Maybe I'll pick up a team with financial problems to contrast the wealth of Man U? Who knows!

It's no problem i'll adjust my tally for the next update and return in a few years im with Man United at the moment so it'll at least be something to tick off. My rep has improved massively so I can cherry pick when I return lol I may end up skipping America's league and going straight to mexico to scoop the NA parts of the challenge. I will have a glance over post 3 cos some of these cups/competitions do raise my brow a bit they aren't the simplest of structures to work with lol

Nope won the league but not the cup. The division itself is the MLS Supporters Shield - but referring to as MLS for short. Are you saying I need to go back and win the cup for it to count? I thought that was seperate like the Community Shield stuff

2033 was a good year for me, I moved out of South America and travelled to Canada to run Montreal Impact. Decided to make this a quick stop-over country because I feel to win the NACL I need a mexican club, but the MLS has drafts which is unusual and I fancied a pop at it. Although I didn't get my first league championship it was my first Top Division league title so can add one to my list (finally lol). To be fair though the season was kind of a walk, the only time I was losing matches was when 7-9 of my players were on international duty or the game after they returned. I also got the joy of being announced as the best Welsh Manager, not a giant feat granted but it's a milestone, I also completed my last coaching badge which should help me get the better jobs.
The plan was to move over to mexico to challenge for a 2nd top division title and the NACL - unfortunately Mexico jobs dont come up often (well worth while ones) so im going to give in and add the European leagues maybe take a pop at one of the International teams and run at a tournament if I find a good opening - time to rack up those achievements. No more picking my destiny time to let the game guide me. Figure I gotta come back eventually in order to complete the challenge so no urgency just yet.
Now swing over to Italy as im managing Roma, initially I figured i'd probaby hit 4-5th in the league and challenge for international spot but I did much better coming in 2nd. Inter just kept one game ahead of me the entire season and I couldnt creep ahead. Next year I will go for top spot. However, I did get the Italian & Euro cup so some progress on the challenge. My main concern is my ML/MR seem to let alot of balls slide past them and my Central Defenders lack the acceleration to pick them up, this is where the goals again me come from. The ML/MR would be nice to replace but priority has to be my Central Defenders. I may end up spending big money during the transfer window, hopefully the board will be ok with that if I bring home something shiny for them in return. I will off-load players to raise the money though as I have a few taking 60k+ wages who played 3 games all season thats not happening lol
2nd Season with Roma and we achieved the league title comfortable with half a dozen games to go - retained my Italian cup, unfortunately our Champions cup was ruined with a 4-0 2nd leg but im ok with that because I dont think this team in its current state is strong enough. I spent a fair bit but I made a profit selling players, I was able to sell a previous player of the year for big cash so that helped.
Its that time to move on again though, depending on where I go it could be a 1year stop or a couple of years. If I can find a flush club then I'll stick around to get the Club World Cup etc but if its a financial moot then I will stick around to win the league im not rebuilding big club finances at this stage the board tend not to like my sacking of average players who they consider gods lol I really want to step back into International management but I want it to be with my World Cup/Euro winning team but job opportunities aren't flowing freely at the moment

I've been on a fm binge all day I went to america for a season but was too quick squad to strong so pretty much just continue, continue, continue through the season. Holding of an update though will do 2-3season updates to span them out a bit save spamming the forums lol Currently managing in Europe cos i couldn't find a decent mexican team (roma)

Ok so this has been my 3 seasons at VIT. Big progress one what they were achieving before I joined the club, I arrive there in 18th with a few games left, I've obtained back to back Copa Qualification - and a Copa Win! (checks of list). We almost won the CwC but goal in the dying minutes ended us.
In 22/23 my squad could have probably took the league but Brazil has a big preseason and I survived that but started the season with 6 first team players partially injured so results lagged, my fans were complaining 10games into the season, when injuries were gone through we were a force to be reckoned with. If GRE weren't storming there matches we could of took the league.
I could opt to stay on another season, the board wont sack me at this point but in the interest of the challenge im putting that behind me and time to move to a new continent now that Copa is secure. I intend to return to get my 10th top division with in Columbia because I've got kind of a lost love thing going with them but for now I'll look to push on, im thinking North America but depends what jobs are on go. I dont want to go through to Europe yet, maybe Africa tho. We shall see! Wish me luck

Side note: Does the chilean super cup and/or canadian championship count as domestic cups - top tier teams can enter but u need to qualify not automatic like chile cup/brazilian cup etc

Hoping to get my Copa with VIT first, maybe go back to TR for the Columbian one if its a possibility when I achieve my VIT goals, if not I'll push onto NA to continue the challenge. I will definitely include the Columbia division in my 10 though I have fallen for it, I may even try to get my WC with columbia if option comes up lol

I won the malaysian premier league but they have a super league above it so it wasnt top division unfortunately.
I'm working on it with vit, I improved on the position but not massively on finishing up the first season with them, second season (my first full season) I qualified for copa, im at the start of my third with them now hoping for title but copa as focus.

After my frustration with the club I decided to back away and focus on internationals, I had qualified for the World Cup which was a feat in itself, when I found out I was in a tough group I had all but given up but fortunately we squeeked through before getting hammered in the 2nd round. I decided to resign after that as my "Reputation" hit an alltime high of 45% lol
I have expanded the number of leagues in the game to include Wales/Ireland/China/Australia and the North American continent but have been offered a job managing VIT in the Brazilian First Division. I've got over 5mil in a transfer budget and 25k excess in wages to spend. Will be a fun job rebuilding here as they have funds to do something about it unlike the last club (or division) where my entire transfer budget was the worst player on the top team.
The board insist I am to avoid relegation but my plan is to recover and hit mid-table this season then push on to take the league within 2years. Thats what im giving this club 3 years! No more, time to push on with the challenge and smash through some of these objectives.
