[How did older versions of the game handle balancing staff attributes?]

… before the introduction of non-player weightings and RCA? 

Happened across an old laptop of mine with FM14 on it this Easter and had a great time playing some ancient save games, then for some reason got the urge to head into the pre-game editor and add myself as lowly youth team fitness coach for a league 2 side.

To my curiosity and dismay however, when starting a new save, the game seemed to think that giving my 65 CA personnel a fitness coaching rating anywhere from 10 to 12 is excessive and consistently knocks it down to around a rating of 6 or so. After much trial and error, it  seems apparently such a rating is only appropriate for CA’s trending towards 3 digits… a value substantially larger than the CA’s of majority of the first team staff.

My question for researchers/SI staff…(if such information is ok to discuss) :  Did staff roles in previous versions also come with attribute weighting’s or was that a relatively recent addition? If so, is it just a question of firing up the 2023 editor and inputting numbers or was the calculation logic markedly different then.

Really sorry, don't mean to bump up an old thread; but I am very keen to know how you determined what the minimum thresholds for attributes like determination, youngsters and tactical knowledge are.  Mostly guesswork or were you working off some official guidance?  thanks in advance
