There is no head coach, and no players in the senior Japanese team. There are greyed-out players only. I'm in 2025 and no players have been called up for the senior team and there is no head coach vacancy. The youth teams do appear to actually call-up players.
I'm doing a save in Japan, and this takes some fun out of it.
