  • Interpretation of the "Positioning" attribute at OGC Nice

In FM, the Positioning attribute is a defined as a Defensive attribute:

"How good they are at keeping a good defensive position. For goalkeepers, this is how well they get into the correct position."

For attackers, or offensive players in general, there are attributes for "Anticipation" and especially "Off the Ball".

Yet it seems to be the case that the AR responsible for Nice is interpreting the Positioning attribute as an offensive attribute.

    - Striker Gaetan Laborde has a ridiculously high positioning rating of 15.

15 is a rating that would even be seen as high for CBs. It is the 6th highest in the entire league, well above what most CBs have. (Marquinhos’ Positioning rating e.g. is only 1 higher at 16).

    - Badredine Bouanani, another offensive player, has a Positioning rating of 14, it really should be more in line with his other defensive attributes (Marking 6 and Tackling 6).

    - Evann Guessand, another striker, has 13 for positioning, which also should be more in like with his other defensive attributes (Marking 5 and Tackling 6).

    - Terem Moffi also has a very high Positioning rating of 13, thus furthering my suspicion that the Positioning attribute was misunderstood for Nice.

    - Jeremie Boga also recently saw his Positioning increased (from 4 to 9, which is quite high for a winger), when throughout his career he is known for not really contributing defensively.

    - On a similar note, winger Aliou Baldé recently saw his positioning go from 4 to 8.

All of those offensive players and strikers at Nice have a Positioning rating that is higher than that of top-CB Todibo, who only has a Positioning rating of 12.

    - Khephren Thuram’s Positioning, considering his box-to-box style, at 15 also seems 2-3 ratings too high, as it puts him on the same level as a very good CB like Kevin Danso.

    - Youssouf Ndayishimiye, who excels in shielding his backline, should probably have Thuram’s Positioning rating of 15 (instead of 13).

I suggest (massively) decreasing the positioning rating of the offensive players (and upping those of Ndayishimiye and Todibo) and talking to the AR of Nice about the Positioning attribute.

    Thanks for considering

Todibo has "Off the Ball" 12 and "Positioning" 12. The offensive attribute "Off the Ball" ought to be decreased (CBs rarely have more than 10) and Positioning, the defensive attribute, increased.
