DerbyK Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Hi all Ive read the steam FAQ, so just going to clear that up before anything starts!! Ive just gone out and bought the game on pc dvd and have it in my hand now. however, having tried to simply install the game off the cd, for some reason it seems to want to download the entire game through steam before i can play it? but why? I already have the dvd in my hand, with all the files on it ready to play now?? so why do i have to wait for it to download? if anyone could help clear this up, cos my internet connection is really not liking downloading a game for while i already have the data on cd!! thanks karan Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

DerbyK Posted November 17, 2008 Author Share Posted November 17, 2008 nope, but i did try running autorun on the cd, which then loaded the game off the cd! seems strange that steam wouldnt do this automatically, considering it was installed and launched by the cd in the drive!!
