Installation Problem

Alright lads,

First post so if I put this thread in the wrong place apologies.

Just trying to install FM12 on a desktop and I got to installing steam and I keep getting the same pop-up telling me I need a new service update. I click to accept the update and it tells me I need to restart steam and I restart the steam and I try to complete installation again and I get the same pop-up! Can anyone give me help?

Using windows 7 64-bit.......also this game was installed on a laptop before wih no problems wondering if this would be the problem?
