Fixture congestion

Hello guys. I am playing my latest save with Charlton Atheltic, in my sixth season in charge. Long talk short, I'm having loads of problems from injuries to suspensions at the moment, but my main concern is fixture congestion. I have finally built a team that can defy the likes of City, Chelsea, United, but the premier league match dates have absolutely killed an entire few weeks of my campaign.

I have had 6 matches with only one day of rest between every game in the premie league. Meanwhile the other title rivals get at least two days off, frequently even three. Is this realistic? Would something like this happen in real life, or is just blatant cheating or "bug"?

Realisticly I would expect to get maybe 12-15 points, but alas I have only 4.
