Hug touchline doesn't work?

I set my right winger to hug the touchline, my left winger to "normal". When I look at "average positions" in the match analysis screen, there is no difference between the right and left winger. My right winger doesn't really hug the touchline even though I tell him to. I played attacking, defensive, wide, narrow, I let him run from deep often or rarely, make him run more or less with the ball, but nothing makes a difference. He does not have any PPM's and creative freedom is in the middle. Anybody knows how to make the winger hug the touchline?
