Has anyone else spotted this...?

I discovered today that when I fined my striker for getting 5.3 in a match, he responded with:

Player X accepts his fine

Player X has apologised for his poor performance in his previous

match and admits that he deserved his fine. He has said that he will try

to motivate himself more for future matches.

Pretty normal response. I then checked his attributes and both his Determination and Work Rate had increased by one. I then fined another player and he responded with:

Player Y accepts his fine

Player Y has accepted the fine for his poor performance without

comment.

Unfortunately his attributes were not affected in any way. It seems it only works when you get the first response. This is probably old news to most but I only knowingly realised about this recently. I also discovered that when a player gets sent off and you fine him and he accepts it in a similar manner to above his aggression goes down 1. Anyone else know of other ways to effect attributes without training or match time?
