Fm2010 - fm 2011

I'm not sure if it's just my rubbish tactics or something, but I'm still on FM 2010 and I'm struggling with it. I'm in my fifth season, and did at one point do ok, getting to the top of the Conference with AFC Wimbledon and then taking on a job in League 2 with Port Vale. But every so often my teams would seem to go in a tailspin, of up to 20 games without winning, and there didn't seem to be a thing I could do about it.

I happen to know that Santa is bringing our house a copy of FM 2011. But reading this forum it seems that this might be a bit buggy for now - so my question is, do I persevere with 2010 and wait for the 11.3 patch? Is 2011 easier? And was 2010 too hard or was that just me?
