Thiago Motta to keep me up?

My Doncaster team are useless in the premier league. I have proven good tactics (Aagallo's, Vodu's) but couldnt attract enough quality in the summer when we were promoted from the championship.

My best player is Russian left midfielder Zhirkov. Goalkeeper's and defence are absolute pants, they will be good, but there too young at the moment and not ready for the prem. Thiago Motta has just agreed to join me from Athletico, 29 years old, still good and clearly has experience. I had him for West Ham in FM06 and he was immense, got 8's almost every game and never put a foot wrong. Just wondered if anyone else has used him in FM08 and whether he's any good in the prem?

ATM, Chevanton and my Lithuanian right winger's free kicks have given me a few points but its Christmas and im on 19 points and in 18th.
