Guest Posted May 4, 2002 Share Posted May 4, 2002 Second Session It was a bit odd our last session. We had a player who got late for the session and slowed down the game because he missed the pre-season and started to buy tons of players while others were impacient to play their matches and go a bit further in the season. After a while he quited because of "game speed"... Just before the league start my Fulham team signed a few more players that hopefully would fulfill our supporters expectations for the season: FLORIN BATRINU - Experienced Romanian DC who got his work permit to join our squad. I see him as a key member of our defence. He's also a brilliant free-kick taker, he'll probably score some goals on set pieces. Signed him for free. ALEX AGUINAGA - That's me signing another veteran 33 yr old but very classy, plays as AMC and hopefully will be my playmaker on 1st season. 650k from Necaxa. IBRAHIM SAID - He came from Al-Ahly for 1.3M and should shut up my mates opinion that I only buy old crap . Actually I felt there was envy floating around the room when I signed this DC/DMC .Will sit on the bench for now. ALAN WRIGHT - Came in an exchange deal I made with Samster. I gave him Betsy who was not in my plans and he gave me Wright. Good DL, in my opinion. The season started at Old Trafford, but unfortunately I missed the plain... So my assistant was managing our team against the Reds and we lost 1-3 I almost sacked him but what the hell... .Then my next match was vs Leicester at home, there was glory and tragedy on the field : the newbies Aguinaga and Batrinu scored for our only win in 5 league games but our mighty captain John Collins picked up an injury and will be out for the next 3 months. Maybe because of Collins injury, our team completely fell apart and 3 straight losses pushed us down to the bottom of the table :2-4 at The Dell ( I had 2 disallowed goals ) with Aguinaga and Marlet scoring, 1-5 at home vs Leeds and finally 2-3 at Newvastle . I finished the session playing home with Brighton for League Cup and my reserves and back ups did it easily three - nil with Bobby Zamora scoring twice on his debut . Now I'm 18th on the League, but hopefully I will get over it. Just wait and see... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 4, 2002 Share Posted May 4, 2002 Second session For me the second session was a bit of a let down cause i got whipped by IFK Gothenburg in the intertoto-cup final. Although Barry got sent off thats no excuse. The first leg at home ended 1-1 after a late Dublin goal in 90th minute The second match 3-0 to Gothenburg. end of that story! I think it was Chelsea away i bet as the league begun with a 3-2 win but the matchresult was all my game so i was sitting comfortably enjoying the game. Boateng as dmc and Barsom as omc were the frontmen. The leaguegame after that i had to face Rads Blackburn (a) and that surely was a strange game. It weaved up and down. My belief was that he took an early 2-0 lead, 2-2, 3-2,3-3 and after that schmeichel got sent off being the last man. Luckily i managed to do a forth goal and started to ease off hoping Enckelman would be the man. He almost made it but had to slip one in and the result was written 4-4..a fairly good result away since it was Rad who was the opponent. Southampton (a) became a screamer, yet i won with 4-3. The last minutes were all theirs.. Kuffour and Hendrie were my trust in that match. Leicester (h) was a comfortable win although they had their chances in the beginning of the game. Again Hendrie was the man to count on, but also Dublin and Merson made an impact. 4-2 After analysing the result i make the conclusion that i have comfort in doing goals but also weakness in my defense. Schmeichel sholdnt be to sure at being nr1 and Enckelman has his up and downs too so im looking for a third goalie who can seal the back. I made up my mind about the defense signing Clint Hill from Tranmere but he'll be a backup since i play with Berry Jönsson Alpay and Mellberg. Jönsson is a hard man to figure out..sometimes he is ****e sometimes he scores..but i like the lad anyway cause his free kicks are awsome! Im not to sure about Mellberg being DR so i signed Kevin Betsy from Nunos Fulham in exchange for my Alan Wright who i thought would be expendible when Hill arrived. Delaney can make a change but he doesnt score assists so much so i hope Betsy could do some front runs. I also let Steve Staunton away to Wolves for 1.1 million. 20.000 a weak for a backup was a lil too much i reckon. I now have four foreigners(Alpay,Kuffour,Angel,Balaban) and i hate to let one step aside because of that but i dont yet know what to do. Kuffour is safe though for sure. Still locking for a dmc but also a mc/mrc with attacking ability. Hadji doesnt do particulary good but Merson do, but can i count on a 33 year old? Maybe i could let Kuffour play their....nahh..hmmmm Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 5, 2002 Share Posted May 5, 2002 Nice session we just had a few moments ago. All members showed up and there is a very nice environment in the game. A couple of crashes didn't dismiss us , as we are starting to get used to it . My Fulham team is going tremendously bad and I'm just about to get the sack . Jonathan is having a good run with his Boro, Alex is surprising everyone with his Everton team and Michael and Sam are doing average with their West Ham and Villa teams. More detailed reports later on. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 5, 2002 Share Posted May 5, 2002 HL7, you just beated me 2-0 because you got disconnected on 2nd half and your assistant took your place. You have a very good assistant, you know ? TheToffeeman Posted May 5, 2002 Share Posted May 5, 2002 Second session The very first match of the season was at home vs Arsenal. Not many expectations, but... My starting line-up: GK: Gerrard DR: Watson DL: Pistone DC: Weir DC: Stubbs MR: Alexandersson ML: Blomqvist MC: Linderoth MC: Gravesen FC: Ferguson FC: Campbell The only chance to get a positive result was to defend hard and to score in a counter-attack. You can plan anything you want but it doesn't work against a team like Arsenal. They were far superior side. It was quite predictable that they took the lead on the 10th minute - Jeffers scored against his former club. Gerrard did well for the whole match. He made 9 saves throughout the match. Half-time result 0:1 was mostly thanks to him. The second half we started lively with Stubbs scoring from direct free-kick. It took 8min. for Henry to push Arsenal again into lead. Full Time result - 1:2 Our next match was away at home to Leeds and again there was almost nothing to expect from this match. To my big surprise we took an early lead thanks to a spectacular free-kick from Blomqvist. After that we set our hopes on counter-attacks. But we couldn't handle the pressure and gave Fowler a chance to score an equalizer. Just after the half-time Keane gave Leeds a lead which was enough to win this match. Full Time result - 1:2 Although we lost first two games I was happy with the performances of my team. We didn't concede many goals and managed to score a goal in each game. There is a strong hope that we will start taking points rather sooner than later. Our third match of the season was at Sunderland. I hoped that we could repeat those performances from first two games... And we did. It was a tremendous win. In first 45 mins. we scored 3 goals from Campbell (13), Ferguson (33), Stubbs (43). In the second half Linderoth added fourth goal (74). It's not that Sunderland didn't put us under pressure, they made 14 shots on goal... But it was Gerrard's day. He saved everything that flew into his goal. Full Time result - 4:0 What's happened to Paul Gerrard next match against Charlton I can explain only how lack of constancy. He did so well in previous matches but relaxed his vigilance in this match. 3 shots on goal and all of them were in the back of the net. I had to replace him for Simonsen. We didn't attack them as I wanted and Charlton added another goal in the second time. Full Time result - 0:4 Next match was at home against Ed's Blackburn. He signed many players and I expected a hard battle. But it wasn't. Blomqvist's strike put us in front. Just to see Cole scoring an equalizer. Steve Watson then showed what I wanted from wing backs asking them to make forward runs. He made a run into penalty area and converted Blomqvist's cross into the back of the net. A minute later he ran with the ball and made a cross which was easily converted by Ferguson. The game was almost off after this goal. Matt Jansen put then one goal back, but it wasn't enough. Full Time result - 3:2 Our team then met Oldham in the League Cup second round. I put a mixed squad on the pitch with senior and reserves players. GK: Simonsen DL: Naysmith DR: Hibbert DC: Unsworth DC: Schumacher ML: Ginola MR: Carsley MC: Pembridge MC: Gemmill FC: Moore FC: Chadwick Everytime we scored they equalized. It lasted till Gemmill scored our third and the last goal of the game. Others came from Ginola and Moore. Full Time result - 3:2 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 5, 2002 Share Posted May 5, 2002 Jonathan's Update Session 3: The third session started with a game against Leicester at Filbert Street. We ran out 3-1 winners in a game that we totally dominated. After this we were to play Liverpool at home, I thought we would lose the game but boy was I wrong! We won the game 2-0, although a sending off on Ince. After this game we drew 1-1 against both ManU and Ipswich. Next up was a game against Nuno's Fulham, it is a game that I'm sure he'd rather forget about. We took the early lead, and only a few minutes after that we were suddenly 2-0 up. Boro continued performing well and the final score was 5-0 We were unbeaten in the league for 11 games until we met Arsenal at Highbury. After the first half they were 2-0 up and I decided to put all out on attack. After a while the score was 2-2 but then Arsenal put in an extra gear to beat us 4-2. Next match was about to be a shock to me, it was against under-performers Derby. They took the lead after 11 mins through Burton only to see us equalize it after 20 mins, at halftime the score was 2-1 to Derby so I was quite shocked and Nuno was already offering me a hat that I had promised to eat if I'd lose. We found our game in the second-half and after 80 mins the score was 2-2. To my surprise the final-score was 4-2 after we'd scored 2 late goals. I had the privilige to play yet another human-manager in this session, I was to meet Michael's West Ham. As the game kicked off it was quite an even fight. The score and the game was about to be even until I substituted the injured Noel Whelan and put in Jonathon Greening. Jonathon hit a hat-trick from the bench which inspired my team to a well deserved 4-0 win. The league-cup is going good too, we are in the quarters after beating Ipswich in the 3rd round 4-0 and after that proceeding through to the quarters with a 5-0 win over Barnsley in the 4th round. Things don't look too positive though as we are to face either Liverpool or ManU away, so I'm quite sure that this is as far as I'll get in the Worthless Cup Oh btw, I signed a new keeper during this session, I brought in Carlo Cudicini from Chelsea for £2.1m. I also bought a promising youngster in matthew Blinkhorn for £14k. I also sold some useless players, they were: Allan Johnston £1.4m to Crystall Palace Dean Windass £1m to Sheff Utd Joseph-Desiree Job for Christian Dailly (direct swap with Michael) The game has become a lot faster which makes it more enjoyable. There are a few dark sides of this session too, a couple of manager are about to get the sack and Michael's West Ham is fighting bravely against relegation, so is Nuno's Fulham. But there are a few good sides about this too, Joe Cole has a relegation-fee release clause Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 5, 2002 Share Posted May 5, 2002 Third Session I can't say this is going well for me. Today my Fulham team played 11 matches , winning 3, drawing 2 and losing 6 matches scoring 12 and conceding 23 goals. Reasons for failure <UL TYPE=SQUARE> *Jonathan puta freezing after my first two matches ( I enter the game, beat Ipswich 3-0 and Tottenham 2-1, my team morale goes up, the game crashes, we restart and I lose to Ipswich and draw with the Spurs. 1 point out of 6 and morale down ) *Captain Collins injured for 3 months, then the mighty Aguinaga for 1 month, then the same Aguinaga for 3 more months, then Boa Morte, then Marlet and the list goes on... *Van der Sar being as crap as crap can be *Dunno Up we go <UL TYPE=SQUARE> * Trashed completely Sam's Villa 3-2 but it could be more if I didn't ended the game with 10 players * Sold Goldbaek to Leicester for a million Down we go * 0-5 at Jonathan's Boro ground * 0-4 at Stamford Bridge with the fans asking for my resignation * 0-2 at Michael's Upton Park * Out of Worthless Cup losing 0-1 at Nottingham So tomorrow I'll try to avoid the sack and maybe get ny first point away from home ( 7 losses in 7 matches ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- At this moment these are the current standings : 1st - Arsenal 37 (14) 4th - Middlesborough 29 (14) 10th - Aston Villa 15 (13) 12th - Everton 14 (12) 15th - West Ham 13 (14) 18th - Fulham 11 (14) 20th - Derby 2 (14) Next session tomorrow at 8pm. HL7 Posted May 6, 2002 Share Posted May 6, 2002 Well, not alot happened for me, a very average session for my team, we won some we lost some, but one result in particular that irritated me was a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough, which ended my record run of two straight wins Whilst we fight relegation, we're having a great worthihngton cup run, with me getting to the quarter finals against Portsmouth, who shouldn't put up that much of a challenge. The priority however, is to stay in the premiership, that's where the big money is, and if we are to have any hope of turning into title challengers, we'll have to get some money so I can buy 4 good defenders and a goalie Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Share Posted May 8, 2002 Our last session had all we can imagine : glory ( Middlesboro career , damn you Jonathan ), tragedy ( Aston Villa sacking his manager Sam ), horror ( me almost being sacked by Fulham chairman ) , disappointment ( Alex in big trouble now after a good start ) and boreness ( Michael's West Ham keeping his midtable position ). IMO this is great fun and an excellent challenge, if we wanted to win all the time and have an easy life as virtual managers, we would be playing with Man Utd, L'Pool, ARSEnal and so on. But no... We don't want that, we want our life to be hard, our reputation to be ruined we couldn't live without the supporters demanding our resignation almost every single week . Unfortunately, Sam "cream of the rubbish" Albermark ( aka Samster ) was sacked in our Monday's session, so that means that until middle March he'll have to try to apply for jobs at vacant Premier teams, which I think it will be useless because of his reputation . After that period, he can take control of any Div 1 team, as the clan rules say. Did I hear Watford, Sammy ? The current league table is : Pos.......Club.....Points..Played 1st - Arsenal........53.....21 5th - Middlesbrough..42.....19 ( Jonathan ) 9th - West Ham.......25.....19 ( Michael ) 14th- Fulham.........22.....21 ( Me ) 16th- Aston Villa....19.....21 ( used to be Sam ) 17th- Everton........18.....20 ( Alex ) 20th- Derby...........6.....21 More detailed reports later on... HL7 Posted May 8, 2002 Share Posted May 8, 2002 How can you possibly claim I offer boredom? The fans didn't find it boring when I beat you 2-0, did they? HL7's update Anyways, the third session was enjoyable on the whole, I think now that i've got to know the other players a bit, and we've played 3 or 4 sessions, things are going along nicely. And now that Defoe and Cole are really blossoming, my team have really taken off and I honestly believe I can finish in a European spot. The league cup has been great this season also, with me drawing Bolton in the semi-finals, effectivly guarenteeing me a place in the final with either Jone's Middlesbrough team, or Leeds United. I pray it's Middlesbrough that I face If/when I win the League Cup, hopefully things will fall into place for my team, and we can go on to bigger and better things, oh, and my board will give me some fúcking money Things are going well at the moment though, and here's hoping they continue Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 8, 2002 Share Posted May 8, 2002 Jonathan's update of the third session: My session started with a gap of 20 days without a game, so it was quite boring in the start. As I finally got to play a game it was a Worthinton Cup quarter-final against ManU at Old Trafford To my surprise we won the game 2-0, the goals scored by Sinclair and Djodjic. This win sent us to through to the Semi-final which was against Leeds who had beaten Arsenal in the quarters. My first league game of the session was against Bolton, who I had drew against earlier this season. We dominated the game from the start but for some reason the ball just wouldn't go in the net. As the final whistle was blown the score was 0-0, which was very disappointing. I can't say the result was fair though, we won the shots on goal by 9-0 Next up was Chelsea at Riverside, Chelsea took the early lead through through Hasselbaink. That score lasted until the 57 minute when Boksic equalized the score to 1-1 and inspired by this Bakircioglu banged in the winning goal only 4 minutes after we had equalized. My next league game was against Sunderland, it was played away form home. We took the lead after 20 mins after a goal by Sinclair. After a few minutes the score was 2-0, but before half-time the score was 2-1. In the second half we found our game, the goals were banged in goal after goal and as the final whistle was blown the score was 6-1 This game was followed by two wins, one away against Blackburn and the other at home against Charlton. The scores were 2-0, after goals by Viduka and Bakircioglu, the game against Charlton ended 4-0 as Bakircioglu hit two goals while Viduka and Boksic had one each. After I've played 19 games I find my team in a 5th spot, but with 3 wins Middlesbrough would be 3rd as we have played 3 games less than Newcastle and two less than ManU. Things are looking really good for now in the league we have only lost one game, against Arsenal but we have drawn too many (6) but a fifth place is nothing to be ashamed of In the FA Cup we had a very easy draw, we were to play Fisher, a non-league side. The final score was surprisingly weak, we only won 4-1 but we did have 3 disallowed goals This session was very verstile in all aspects, my team is doing very well but things aren't as good everywhere. Sam got the sack after dropping heavily in the table. Nuno is insecure but I think he'll keep his job as he has had some very good results recently. Alex surprised us all in the first sessions but now he dropped after 6 straight losses in the league, and suddenly he is fighting agaisnt relegation instead of a place in Europe. Michael was the nicest surprise as he got his team to perform very well beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and he now finds himself on a 9th place in the league. Today my Fulham team played 11 matches , winning 3, drawing 2 and losing 6 matches scoring 12 and conceding 23 goals. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Update on 4th session This last session wasn't as bad for me as the last one. I've played 8 matches, winning 3, drawing 3 and losing 2. That's not brilliant, but at least avoid me the sack and my status changed from very insecure to insecure. On those eight matches we scored 18 and conceeded 15. This record tells me two things : 1) I'm not having attacking problems. My team scores quite easily. 2) On the other hand my defence it sucks. I must definitely change something. I started the session selling one of my DMC's Sean Davis to Sam's Villa for £2.2M. Right after that, I played Alex's Everton away. It was a very intensive game, with Alex beating me 3-2. Then we received Bolton at the Craven Cottage and a disappointing 1-1 was the final score. The young kid (17yr ) Dean Ashton scored for me but a last minute own goal by Alain Goma ruined it all . Man Utd was next and what a match ! Another 1-1 draw was the best I could get. But speaking the truth both teams would deserve to win . After that, I achieved to get 2 straight wins : 3-0 vs Charlton (H) and 4-2 vs. Blackburn (A). After another two matches with a win and a loss, I finished the session playing Millwall ( Fa Cup ) and a weird 4-4 was the result. For the rest of the season my objectives are firstly keeping my job and secondly avoiding relegation . If i can achieve it, you mates will fear me because Chiotis, Moukouko and Robbie Savage will join me on a Bosman at the end of the season C'MON FULHAM !!!!!! HL7 Posted May 12, 2002 Share Posted May 12, 2002 Well, its been a bloody long, tiring session, and its nearly come to its conclusion. A breif recap: Sam: He's rejoined the game after an unsuccessful look for a job, he is no manager at Man City and has guided them to the play-offs and the FA Cup Final, beating me 5-2 in the semi's Had a very good return to management so far. Nuno: Finally got his Fulham team playing a bit, and guided them to Premiership safety in his relegation battle, caused me alot of problems, although I won 3-2 away from home Jonathan: On the verge of winning the league, leaving Man Utd with an outside chance of success. With a game to go I think its pretty safe to say he'll be crowned champions, and worthy champions too (I knocked him out of the FA Cup on penalties though, and I had ten men ) Alex: The most unlucky manager i've ever played with, he had a sensational start to the season, and then fell away, he's had so many low points its hard to summarise it Was it the defeat to Carlsile or relegation? Me: I've had a decent season, finished 9th in the table, won quite a few games and won the League Cup after beating Leeds 1-0 in the final. I'll jhave a strong team for next year and I plan to finish in a CL spot. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 12, 2002 Share Posted May 12, 2002 Nice update Mike We just had finished our first season after a 10 hour session . Jonathan's Boro is now the champions and on the other side Alex's Everton was relegated . Fulham and West Ham both finished midtable. Sam's Man City lost on promotion playoffs, so Alex and Sam will be playing both on Div 1 next season . Tomorrow we'll post here the league table and the clan manager points. I'll post also a very complete update about my first season at Fulham, so expect a very long post from me And Michael, yes you were very far from the truth. The Fulham job is still mine Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
HL7 Posted May 13, 2002 Share Posted May 13, 2002 Well, after 1 whole season, I think it's pretty safe to say I did alot better than expected. Things started off so brightly with a 3-2 victory over Southampton with my new 4-5-1_into_4-3-3 formation, however, it took the AI about 3 games to work out the weaknesses in the tactic A quick change to a 4-4-2 diamond formation so a change in my teams fortunes, and I got quite a few positive results, like a 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Birdge, a 1-0 win over Leeds in the League Cup final, knocking out Champions Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and finally, a 1-1 draw with high flying Arsenal. I also found that my West Ham team has become very hard to beat, even when I go a goal down, i'm supremely confident that I can get at least a draw. Throughout the season i've been keeping a watchful eye on my youth players, and next year I expect i'll hhave 3 of them pushing to become regulars. A young Norwegian player valled Soma, he's now 22 and will be pushing for the left back role, I have Grant McCann pushing for a left wing role, and also Irekpen making a claim for a starting role in defence. Jermain Defoe has also progressed nicle,y but I would to sign a striker for next season, as I feel that he is too young for a regular place right now, I was a bit disappointed that I had to use him for over 30 games this season, when I really only wanted him to make 15 or 16 starts this season. Joe Cole is coming of age now, and could possibly be able to handle a full premiership season next year, and would be a supreme threat in the attacking midfield role. On the signings front, I have Muzzy Izzet signing from Leicester on the Bosman, Delgado coming from Southampton, veteran Lubomir Moravcik signing from Celtic, and a few other coming in also, so with more depth in the squad, some great youngsters coming though, I honestly believe that a Champions League spot isn't beyond me. Next yeear is going to be very tough though but i'm looking forward to it Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jone Posted May 13, 2002 Share Posted May 13, 2002 The season was very exciting, all teams had good runs and bad runs except my Boro team that is . There were very good matches for my team, the best are winning Leeds and Liverpool away from home . The thing that secured that the title was coming to Middlsebrough was our great run of 16 games unbeaten in the end of the season. We passed team after team and suddenly we were 1st . The title came through a mistake by ManU though. They lost at home to Leicester in their 3rd last game, although their players were unfit as they had played the FA final only two days before. Alex's season with Everton can be called a flop, he was performing great in the first 15 games or so. Then he finally lost form and was relegated to the 1st divison finishing 19th in the league. Nuno, manager of Fulham, was about to be sacked for a while but then he found form and he finally finished in a respectable 11th place. That may no sound too good but as he had problems and was almost on the verge to be relegated I think it was a great performance Michael, manager of West Ham, was the one who surprised me the most of all human managers. He got his team to play good and he finished 9th which I think is great with that team. He beat me in the FA quarters on pens after drawing two matches with me. He was so lucky there . All respect to Michael he prooved himself to be a respectable manager Sam, the first one to be sacked from his position as manager of Aston Villa. Can't really understand what happened there He took control of ManC after he had been sacked and he managed to get them to a play-off spot but he lost to Sheff Wed in the semis He also got to the FA cup final and will be playing in the UEFA cup next year . Sam was in my oppinion the biggest flop as amanager but maybe he will proove me wrong <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> ================================================================================================ 2001/2 Table ================================================================================================ Pos Team Pld Won Drn Lst For Ag Won Drn Lst For Ag Pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st C Middlesbrough 38 15 4 0 54 15 12 4 3 44 21 89 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Man Utd 38 16 1 2 50 12 11 5 3 36 19 87 3rd Leeds 38 16 2 1 40 10 11 2 6 36 23 85 4th Arsenal 38 14 1 4 35 18 12 6 1 37 17 85 5th Liverpool 38 13 3 3 41 20 11 3 5 29 12 78 6th Chelsea 38 14 2 3 49 20 10 2 7 25 17 76 7th Sunderland 38 12 0 7 29 29 7 4 8 23 26 61 8th Newcastle 38 9 5 5 27 24 9 1 9 33 40 60 9th West Ham 38 8 6 5 27 22 6 5 8 25 27 53 10th Ipswich 38 5 6 8 24 30 5 7 7 27 28 43 11th Fulham 38 7 6 6 37 35 4 2 13 30 47 41 12th Tottenham 38 5 6 8 28 30 4 8 7 24 39 41 13th Charlton 38 5 5 9 20 32 6 3 10 16 33 41 14th Blackburn 38 6 7 6 30 30 3 6 10 23 42 40 15th Bolton 38 7 6 6 29 36 3 4 12 12 32 40 16th Aston Villa 38 5 6 8 24 28 4 2 13 23 36 35 17th Southampton 38 4 4 11 20 25 3 7 9 18 29 32 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18th R Leicester 38 4 6 9 20 31 3 1 15 21 42 28 19th R Everton 38 5 5 9 22 32 1 4 14 22 51 27 20th R Derby 38 2 2 15 18 43 0 7 12 18 43 15 </pre> Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Share Posted May 13, 2002 FIRST SEASON Well, what can i say really. Being sacked isnt fun but is a part of the job. I do beleive that Aston Villa will be good with the players i brought in. After i got the boot i looked up from my pc and saw the sun shining heavily here in Sweden and got me a shag instead so my session as i was on holiday was successful anyway . Thats maybe why i havent been updating regulary..summer is here..but i do fancy cm so i took contol of Man C which at that point was at eleventh(?) place but only 6 points from the playoffs... strange that we dont have any rules on which teams to pick in div 1 cause i could easily have picked Watford who got promoted and lead the league at that moment.. Therefore i decided to have the challenge having a real derby against United and it came quicker then ive expected. After my victorius win against West Ham in the semi i faced United in the final but since i were in the playoffs facing Sheffield W i had to play with my b-squad against Nistelroy and co They won 3-0 but i was kinda glad anyway cause i knew i had an uefa-place in hand since United finished top 5 To my dissapointment i only got a draw when i needed a win at home against Wednesday and my struggle continues therefore, but the board is happy wanting a respectable position jus..... Looking forward to have company with you Alex next season! Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Share Posted May 13, 2002 Update on last session Facing the threat of unemployment, I started the session playing at the Craven Cottage vs Arsenal : a 2-2 draw was the result, Boa Morte and Saha scored but Batrinu missed his 2nd penalty of the season, so from now on he won't be called to play that role never again. My board was delighted with the team performance, by the way . It was funny what happened next : I went to Newcastle and now look at this : same result (2-2) and same scorers ( Boa Morte and Saha ) . Then we were knocked out of the Fa Cup on replay match at Millwall. At home a weird 4-4 was the result but on their ground we lost 2-3 on another intense match. Zamora scored against his former club, which gave me great pleasure . Then another home draw and once again it was 2-2 , but my board was delighted once again, seeing the opponent was Liverpool. At Leeds we lost 1-2 and after that on a very very weird match we received Jonathan's Middlesbrough . Just look at the scoresheet : 08' 1-0 Batrinu 13' 2-0 Aguinaga 16' 3-0 Marlet ( pen ) 34' 3-1 Whelan 37' 3-2 Boksic 55' 3-3 Greening 77' 3-4 Bakircioglü 80' 3-5 Viduka Still can't understand what happened there... Derby away was next and a 3-1 win brought us some extra time to breath. I had the feeling my team needed some experience added, so I signed Claudio Caniggia from Glasgow Rangers on a £240 k deal . Jonathan was making fun of me after that signing but after scoring 5 goals on 7 matches the ancient Argentinian shut that finn's mouth up ! We also sold Lee Clark to Rushden & Diamonds for £1 M + Duane Darby , a real good youngster with terrific heading. After a defeat with Ipswich we went to Birmingham and defeated Aston Villa 3-0. Then I received Everton and Alex was really when Alain Goma scored a 90th minute goal which guaranteed me a 3-2 win Then I had to go have dinner and when I came back I've noticed we lost at Highbury 1-3 . Then 3 more defeats, which made my job slighty insecure once again. But a 4-0 win at Bolton and a 4-1 victory vs Blackburn at the Cottage calmed down Al Fayed's nerves . We finished the season with a draw at Charlton. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 13, 2002 Share Posted May 13, 2002 FULHAM SQUAD ANALYSIS PLAYER BY PLAYER 1. Edwin Van der Sar (GK) - Age 31 - 14 apps 36 con The Dutch international was really disappointing. Started the season as my first choice, but soon lost his place in the team. Will join Benfica at the end of the season on a £ 3 M deal 2. Mike Duff (D/DM R) - Age 24 - 26 apps 1 goal 3 asts An excellent prospect, started on first team, but his form went down and lost his place on 2nd half of season. 3. Rufus Brevett (D L) - Age 32 - 0 apps Transfer listed. 4. Andy Melville (D C) - Age 33 - 4 apps Just a back up. Transfer listed. 5. Chris Coleman (SW/D LC) - Age 31 - 10 apps I really like this guy. But the competition for a spot in the team was too strong and he didn’t had many chances. It’s now transfer listed because many new players will arrive on next season for his position. 6. Kit Symons (D C) - Age 31 - 0 apps Never had a chance to play. His contract is about to end and he’ll join Coventry on next season. 7. Steed Malbranque (AM RC) - Age 22 - 30 apps 4 gls 8 asts I expected him to do a bit better, but what the hell he’s only 22 and should be improving next season for sure. Nantes tried to buy him a few times but not even a £ 9 M offer convinced me to sell him. He’ll be great , I believe. 8. Duane Darby (S C) - Age 28 - 7 apps This fella came on from R&D on an exchange deal where Lee Clark took part. Although he hasn’t scored any goals on 7 matches, his av rat was 7.57 and was MoM for a couple of times. Very useful when bombing air balls into the box 9. Steve Marlet (F RC) - Age 28 - 31 apps 13 gls 2 asts The French forward scored most of his goals on first half of the season. Then his form dropped drastically, but still he was one of my best players. Indispensable for next season. 10. John Collins (DM LC) - Age 34 - 21 apps 3 gls 4 asts The old captain didn’t show everything he’s capable of. Could it be he already passed his prime time? Anyways, I’m giving him the benefit of doubt and will keep him for next season. He’s still one of the most respected players of the squad. 11. Mark Kerr (M C) - Age 20 - 33 aps 1 goal 3 asts Very good first season for this young gem. Will probably boost all his capabilities on 2nd season. Not for sale at any price. ( Keep hands off ) 12. Marcus Hahnemann (GK) - Age 29 - 0 apps Transfer listed. Not needed by any means. 13. Maik Taylor (GK) - Age 30 - 14 apps 20 con Entered the first team after I got ****ed with V. D. Sar and lost his place to Voulgaris at the end of the season. Good keeper, will be my 2nd or 3rd choice on next season, after Chiotis 14. Jon Harley (D/AM L) - Age 22 - 25 apps 1 goal Started as available from loan, but soon had his chance and proved his manager was not wrong. Has still a lot to improve though. 15. Barry Hayles (F C) - Age 30 - 6 apps 1 goal I know he’s not bad at all, maybe I was wrong on not giving him more first team football, but I don’t know why I don’t like him. Transfer listed. 16. Bobby Zamora (S C) - Age 21 - 23 apps 4 gls 5 asts Most of his appearances were as a sub, so he did really well on his first season. Can be very important in the future, he was born to be a star. 17. Sylvain Legwinski (DM RLC) - Age 28 - 27 apps 1 ast Sylvain was quite inconsistent, but after all who wasn’t on such strange season? Capable of the best and the worst, I hope he does much better in the near future. 18. Simon Downer (D C) - Age 20 - 0 apps Didn’t played, but he will soon. Can develop into a very solid defender, may God be with him. 19. Dean Ashton (S C) - Age 18 - 8 apps 1 goal 3 asts As well as Zamora, he’s the striker of the future. Gotta put him into first team slowly, so he can improve correctly. 20. Louis Saha (F RC) - Age 23 - 33 aps 14 gls 8 asts Very good season but he STILL can do better. Playing upfront with Marlet he spreads terror on opposite sides. Watch him closely next season. 21. Tom Cowan (D L) - Age 32 - 3 apps Transfer listed. Enough said. 22. LuÃs Boa Morte (AM/F RLC) - Age 24 - 27 aps 6 gls 1 ast Also known as Louis Nice Death , the Portuguese lad did much better than I was expecting. Secure value for next season 23. Claudio Caniggia (F RLC) - Age 35 - 10 aps 5 gls 3 asts Join the club only in March and proved to be fundamental for the increasing performances on the late season. Very experienced, I rather play him just behind the 2 strikers. Hopefully will still be important on 2nd season. Eat this, Jonathan ! 24. Alain Goma (SW/D C) - Age 29 - 38 apps 4 gls 3 asts Very surprisingly, he was my best defender. Solid as a rock, he proved to be indispensable to the team. 25. Abdeslam Ouaddou (SW/D C) - Age 23 - 7 apps His 6.29 average ratings says it all Transfer listed. 26. Alan Wright (D L) - Age 30 - 8 apps You really fouled me, Sam Couldn’t you just keep the crap for yourself ? 6.25 on av rat ? 27. Antchouet (F RC) - Age 23 - 12 apps 1 goal 2 asts Should have done better, but he struggled with some adaptability problems. Maybe next season he’ll show all his potential. 28. Steve Finnan (DM RL) - Age 26 - 24 apps 4 asts Very useful back up, always available to fill in the holes. Plays on both sides of the defence , he’s one of those players every manager likes to have. 29. Florin Batrinu (D C) - Age 31 - 31 apps 4 gls 1 asts Experienced defender, very dangerous on free kicks, he’s still one of my favourite DC’s in the game. I still see him as being very underrated on the CM community. 32. Ibrahim Said (D/DM C) - Age 22 - 19 apps 1 asts Need no presentations this Egyptian. Should be playing more often on next season, after his adapting period. 33. Alex Aguinaga (AM RC) - Age 33 - 19 apps 7 gls 5 asts Top class attacking midfielder despite of his age. The team performance could have been much better if he didn’t spend most of the season injured. I hope he can maintain his level on 2nd season. 35. Merkouros Karalioupoulos (D R) - Age 24 - 6 apps The Greek with the funny name was discovered by one of my scouts when he was scouting Chiotis Signed him in on the last day of transfers season and what a good surprise ! Mike Duff will have to struggle for his first team place on next season. 36. Antonis Voulgaris (GK) - Age 20 - 16 apps 35 con Very inexperienced goalie, will turn into a quality player in a few years. But his life will be hard from now on, because his mate Chiotis will join Fulham at the end of the season. 40. Andrejs Stolcers (AM RLC) - Age 27 - 19 apps 4 gls Not a bad player, but I have better for his position. Transfer listed. TOP APPEARANCES Alain Goma - 38 Louis Saha - 33 Mark Kerr - 33 Florin Batrinu - 31 Steve Marlet - 31 TOP SCORERS Louis Saha - 14 Steve Marlet - 13 Ãlex Aguinaga - 7 LuÃs Boa Morte - 6 Claudio Caniggia - 5 TOP AVERAGE RATINGS Claudio Caniggia - 7.80 Louis Saha - 7.58 Duane Darby - 7.57 Ãlex Aguinaga - 7.53 Steve Marlet - 7.35 FUTURE TRANSFERS Players In Aaron Winter ( Ajax ) - £ 250 K Tonton Zola Moukoko ( Derby ) - £ 170 K Gary Breen ( Coventry ) - Bos Robbie Savage ( Leicester ) - Bos Juninho Pernambucano ( Lyon ) - Bos Michael Johnson ( Birmingham ) - Bos Dionisis Chiotis ( AEK ) - Bos Players Out Edwin van der Sar ( Benfica ) - £ 3 M Kit Symons ( Coventry ) - Bos Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
