Work Permit

11 posts in this topic

I have found a regen who looks superb. He is from Tunisia and already has 2 caps and is the number 1 choice. Unfortunately for me his work permit was turned down so how many caps will it take for it to be granted or what country should I send him to, and for how long?

If Tunisia is ranked 75 or lower in the FIFA rankings, you can forget about it. Home Office rules = 75 or higher; 70% (could be 75%) of full internationals played over last two years.

It's not a specific number of caps. Don't tell him the wrong thing if you don't know.

It depends on the number of full internationals Tunisia have played over the last two years in game. The regen will need to have played in at least 70% of them.

It's not an exact number of caps, it's a proportion (75% IIRC) of games played over the last two years.

Yeah, wasn't sure if it was 70 or 75 percent, it's one or the other.

I wasn't sure either, but I've checked it, it's 75%:

  • Players must have appeared in 75% of their country's competitive international 'A' team fixtures in the previous two years;

  • Permits will be valid for the length of a player's contract with the club;

  • The FIFA ranking of the player's national side aggregated over 2 years (at or above 70th place) is a basic criterion.

Right, so I got 70 and 75 mixed up? I always thought the FIFA ranking was 75 or better.
