However did any of you actually search or even read previous posts? On this page medievalist has twice posted where to find direct links. In the previous two pages of this thread I've posted a few times about these links. You could have searched the forum for 'direct download link' or 'mirror' and found them, or just opened one of the last two pages and used the 'Find on this page' tool in IE. Coombsey Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 I know some people have probably answered this a million times and I have read the posts, but I just can't see to get it working. Basically I got the game recently and saw that it hasnt updated the January transfers. I want to manage Pompey so I want Defoe/Benjani deals to go through. I have tried a few links and downloaded them, but after they have been dowloaded nothing happens.... I just start up the game and it is exactly the same. If i remember correctly it comes as a .rar file, which means you will need WinRAR to extract it. When you use WinRAR it will give you a choice of where to extract the patch to, just make sure to extract it to the directory that you have FM in and you should be golden. There appear to be 8 different versions depending whether you bought the game in a shop or did the digital download, whether you've got Football Manager or the North American World Wide Soccer Manager, and of course whether you've got a PC or a Mac. There is only one version of the patch that's right for *you*, though, and all the patches do the same thing. Just take a second to make sure you're grabbing the right one and you'll be fine. A torrent file is tiny. How would that die on the server? The use of torrents seems great when the game is first patched, but as the sales dwindle, it seems that switching to a hosted file would make sense again for SI. The fact that the first post is full of (currently) broken links to torrent files is sub-par for what I've come to expect from SI. Sort it Out! And thanks again to the FANS who keep the patch alive. The patch was released on valentines day - the transfers are only correct as of the january transfer window. There will be no more patches for FM08. Is it possible for me to delete the 8.02 patch If so when i delete it can i continue my current save game but using 8.01 In my opinion 8.02 ruined the game as it completely mucked the tactics within the game. I think v665 is the latest. I had been using the 14th (the first 8.0.2 patch) for a while but wanted the 8.0.2 db with the update to Defoe so I downloaded the updated version. It let me update and FMM wouldn't work unless I switched the compatability to 8.0.2 Updated. So going on that, I would say it is the updated patch. Can anyone tell me a) if this is possible and b) if so how I can do it? If not I assume I just start again in July 07 with players updated as at Jan 08? thanks and apologies in advance if I have asked something dumb!
