A West Ham Tactic if you are struggling..

Recommended Posts

Have been trying to make a decent 4-4-2 Tactic but despite being fairly sound at the back as many have found goals are hard to come by and the strikers are quite frankly useless.

However, with a bit of tinkering I have done quite well with my "WHU 4-1-3-2" effort and despite only playing 4 matches with it I thought I would put it on here to let those who are struggling give it a go. It's NOT a "Best Tactic in the world" effort and as I say I have only used it in 4 matches but it has given me a 3-0 win away at Norwich, 3-1 home to Stoke, 1-0 away at Wolves and a 1-1 away draw to Newcastle in which I thought I should have won.

Why put it here after 4 matches?? Well it's down to the fact that my strikers are now scoring and have ratings up in the 7's which makes a change to all the 5.5's I have been getting. It seems defensively ok and I actually enjoy watching some of the Football.

If you are expecting a win the League Super Tactic it will not be that but feel free to have a try.

It's based very much on the 4-4-2 I was trying to create but I decided to move a central midfielder into the DM position and left one CM as he was. I pushed the two wide men forward and the have high CF. I have attacking Full Backs and the GK, Two CB's and the DM constitute my defensive spine so to speak.

If things dpon't go as planned I will make my left striker who is the Target Man hold the ball up.

If I go ahead and am up against a pacy striker I may lower my closing down and defensive line.

I have if you look at my line up retrained the likes of Bellamy, Dyer and Behrami into new positions.

It may work it may not but you are welcome to try.

Well, it seems to work for me. A 1-0 League Cup Final win over Arsenal with a last minute Carlton Cole goal..... I'm actually enjoying the more realistic chance rate, far better than 25 attempts on goal etc. My strikers are doing fine now.

One thing I do do though is on the opposition instructions. I always show wide men onto the weaker foot and close down their strikers and maybe a Fabregas type of midfielder.

Proof of the win!!!
