Hello and Welcome to the 2009 Football Manager Fantasy Football.

This is a lot like many other Fantasy Football games, however it is done on Football Manager instead of based on real life matches. The basic idea is that each player get's a budget of £120 million to spend on a team consisting of 11 players. Teams must consist of 1 goalkeeper, but formations can be mixed around. You can choose from either: 5-3-2, 3-5-2, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, or 3-4-3. You must also assign a captain, who will score double points.

You can select up to 3 players from any one team. If a player is transferred during the season and this transfer takes you over this limit, then you will need to go back under the limit when making your next transfers. Each player has been given a value. The total value of your initial squad must not exceed £120 million. Players will be posted in screenshots, by team, later on. The value of players is taken from their value in the game.

Transfers can be made once a week, you have a limit of 3 transfers per week, so choose very carefully. You do not have to use all your transfers, but the transfers you don't use will not be carried through to the next week, so for example if you do not use any of your transfers, you will not get 6 the next week, you will still have 3.

Updates

Updates are to be done weekly, although there may be some midweek updates (if I feel like it), although that's highly unlikely as I am in my final year of school and have schoolwork to concentrate on on weekdays.

Fulham battle out a well deserved victory over Tottenham. Andy Johnson gave them the lead after 17 minutes with a lovely chip over Tottenham keeper Gomes.

West Brom unlucky to lose, despite the 2 goal defeat. West Brom were by no means the worse side in this game and had their chances to go level after Robert Koren equalised in the 48th minute. Robin van Persie put the Gunners back in front in the 57th minute though and Samir Nasri completed the scoring from close range in the 61st minute.

Bolton deserved their victory over Sunderland in this match. Bolton's Summer Signing Johan Elmander gave them the lead after 22 minutes with a powerful volley which deflected off the post before crossing the line. Kevin Davies then doubled Bolton's advantage 10 minutes later. Sunderland's Andy Reid managed to get a consollation goal back for them, but it was not enough.

Hull will be by far the happier side after the drew 1-1 against Everton in their first game ever in the Premier League. Things did not go very well for Stoke in their first game in the top flight for over 20 years. On the other hand it was a fantastic start for Gianfranco Zola as it was his first time managing a team in the Premiership. Bowyer got the scoring underway in the 25th minute, with Matthew Etherington netting just 3 minutes afterwards. West Ham came back out after half time and continued to pile the pressure on, scoring 5 minutes into the half courtesy of a Di Michele goal. Mark Noble scored the finished the scoring in the 70th minute.

Aston Villa came close to suffering an unexpected defeat. Kapo scored first for Wigan after 8 minutes although Villa came straight back and Gudjohnsen scored in the 11th minute. Palacios scored from the penalty spot in the 29th minute and Wigan looked like they would go on to win the game. It all went wrong though in the 82nd minute as Scharner kicked an Aston Villa player and got sent off. Moments later Agbonlahor scored and the game ended as a draw.

Man Utd produced a good display to see off Newcastle. They got off to a good start when Paul Scholes scored in the 3rd minute, although minutes later Rio Ferdinand was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Charles N'Zogbia. Former Man Utd Striker Alan Smith scored an Equaliser for Newcastle a minute before half time, but Man Utd carried on to play good football despite having a man less and Carlos Tevez scored the winner in the 6oth minute.
