We're extremely proud and delighted to say that Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition is Out Now, marking the return of Football Manager to Xbox consoles for the first time in over a decade!

This is the thread to raise all feedback, thoughts and general game discussion about FM Xbox Edition - we can't wait to hear what you think of the game!

If you encounter any game bugs, please take the time to raise them in our FM21 Xbox Bugs Forum. If you have any technical issues or crashes and need direct support, please don't post on the forums, instead submit a support ticket so our dedicated support team can get back to you directly.

Please make it so we can adjust the size of the hud. The font is entirely too large and I hate having to pull the trigger to get the left menu.

Is there a way to use a cursor to navigate through the UI? I know on the switch version it had it, but having no cursor at the moment feels very hard to navigate through the menu

Mouse is a must for this game. Please add mouse support. There are plenty of games with mouse support on XBOX. So why FM doesn't?

It does, I was using a mouse and keyboard for it on xbox series x last night

Really? I asked before and it's said there is not mouse support but only keyboard.

If you press the left stick on the controller, you will enable the mouse cursor however we do not currently have mouse support.

I was using a mouse and keyboard last night!! You absolutely do have mouse support lol that was on my xbox series x, I do not own a PC.  Click the left stick in until the cursor appears the cursor is then controllable by mouse. You do have to reclick whenever the cursor disappears.

100% I have a dell wired keyboard that the mouse can plug into the back of, I could show videos of it working, even the scroll button worked.

My friends had issues, I cant really explain the issues because it was working perfectly. I imagine Google will reveal others who will confirm this.

Can you adjust the speed at which the cursor scroll? It feels incredibly clunky. Also, do I really have the press left trigger every time just to get the side bar bit up? I really want to like this; maybe I just need to get used to it. Thanks.

This really needs implementing. It's too slow to move but if you hold a direction it accelerates to a speed that is too fast. I would rather have the ability to choose my own sensitivity than acceleration over distance as it's the smaller movements you tend to make not the bigger across screen ones.

 

Impressions are good so far though. Certainly a better navigation system than the 360 games, have been playing 07 and 08 recently whilst waiting for 21 to release.

Doubt it, Microsoft don't let you import files, well not easily anyway.

I wonder if you can download the Play Anywhere version off the Microsoft Store on PC, load game save, load tactic, save game then load save on Xbox. It's similar to how you would do it on FM14 with the Vita version.

I wish more devs would embrace mod.io to let you use mods etc on Xbox. Space Engineers, Snowrunner and a number of others use the service to allow you to install compatible mods on Xbox. It's one thing I wish Konami would do with PES to get past the lack of Option File support on Xbox.

I am playing on both Xbox One X and Windows 10 PC, using Play Anywhere.

 

So far, I have found a couple of issues.

No way to add a second manager. Option is greyed out.

No in-game editor like 2018 or 2019 Xbox Live enabled versions.

Skins don't load on PC (can't try on X1X obviously).

The achievement National Hero (promotion from the bottom to the top division in a nation) just unlocked randomly for me in September, whilst already managing Manchester United in the Premier League.

Money. money, money achievement (earn 10m in career earnings is not working). I have £63m and no achievement, Current global unlock is 0.0%.

Going on holiday indefinetly - cannot return from holiday when pressing B.

Bought The Xbox Edition.

but there is no national team management In The game?

that Was very disipointment. I like to Play The game as national team manager.

is there any chance SI would fix This?, and include That In The game?

it should be availible In The Store, so you could buy it, or as an unlockeable.

I would also like an Editor for The Xbox Edition.

This is NOT the full FM experience, this is the Touch version but for Xbox. The Touch version has never had pre game editors as it's supposed to be an easier to play (less features so faster gameplay) version that has crossplay saves with Android and iOS. As far as I am aware this is because SI cannot guarantee the play experience on all devices if edited databases were enabled.

I do wish that FMTouch had an option you could toggle which allowed edited data with the agreement SI can't guarantee things will work as the base game should and wouldn't provide support.

Of course i know that but XBox is more and more powerful than tablets so i think it's possible to SI provide us an experience close to PC.

Just passing through - but isn't this managerial earnings and not transfer profit? - have you really earnt that much already?

Is there any way to see the squad list while in Tactics menu? On the switch you can press a button and squad list pops up on the right hand side and the Green tactics section goes to the left slightly. 
I know you can press Y to add a player to an empty player spot but still would prefer to have the list alongside. 
Other than that I think it’s brilliant, a good way to get some people who wouldn’t usually bother to play it get involved!

Having a major issue where the game freezes when saving. Obviously makes the game somewhat unplayable atm. Seems to occur at the start save point majority of the time, especially when more than one league is loaded

Couple more issues I’m having/maybe just me failing to work it out, but how can you tell if players stats are going up or down? There’s no tick box that I could see. Nor is there a way to cycle through players; or am I missing something? Obviously I get that this is the touch version and not the full, but I can’t see why these functions haven’t been included. Thanks.

Tactics screen is not user friendly. I can't see whole team on tactics screen. Sidebar not visible and every time i have to press l2 to see it. I prefer the same UI of touch version.

Erm, did you read? I said easier to play, meaning there is a lot less to learn, it's very pick up and play, I did not say the game was easier to be successful.

I've noticed that some of the instructions are cut off at the bottom of the screen and there isn't a scroll bar, this is playing with everything set up for 4k resolution.

 

I'm also finding the pop-ups rather intrusive, the get in the way of being able to see what you are doing in the tactics screen.

I have also found 30 seasons does not unlock. Completed the 30 seasons, got the notification saying you have reached 30 seasons, end of game etc. Achievement stuck at 96%. Can provide pictures if needed.

Unlock No Sacking achievement hasn't unlocked, yet I can use No Sacking (bought from Store).

Set Piece Specialist also won't unlock for me. Do you want me to upload a file?

Are we not able to use graphic packs in this edition? Faces, logos, trophies etc don't seem to work in mine.

I agree with this. I was hoping to get used to it but it is very clunky. Perhaps some options to adjust for user preference? I was looking in the settings last night but couldn’t find anything.

Match engine is wonderful and the speed on the Series X is excellent in processing and set up. 10 countries at the lowest league level and it only took a few minutes to get going. Very impressive!

Loving the player ratings and morale on the match screen. Great to see I can shout out encouragement now from the touch line.

I am not enjoying the controller and the UI is going to take some getting used to. I had no problems with the switch controls but really struggling with the Xbox. Some user sensitivity sliders on the pointer would really help the experience.

The tactic screen is my biggest issue and has taken some enjoyment out over iPad touch. I can no longer see if my players are suited to the role on the pitch without entering several other screens. This is very cumbersome due to the controller and setting up and adjusting for match day is a faff. Interesting that the iPad touch version still has the same tactic screen as 2020 so I hope it is just I don’t know how to switch the view over?

Great first effort on the Xbox but room for improvement on interface and controls I am afraid to say.

Yes... yes, i did. I agree with you that has less steep curve to learn to play the game than FM. But I think that saying it is easier, is not the right word to say. Say it it is more, quick and play or plug and play or something of the likes.

My issue of easier to play, has gain a reputation... a negative one for FMT, since most people brush it aside of being a easier version of FM, where it doesn't have anything easy about it. It is a quicker version than FM, where certain areas of the full FM is not included or simplistic version of them, since are features that slow down the speed of a season.

I’ve started a online career with my friend, but the game keeps getting stuck after we play where it says “Compiling Press Officer Summary” it happened in a pre season friendly that we had to holiday past and now it’s happening after our first game of the season. Everything is running behind it and there is still the match sounds but nothing loads. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just to let people know (although I hope most people realize already) - this is being investigated and we will get an update out to rectify the problem asap, sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks for the feedback - we will obviously be listening to all reported issues and releasing update to rectify them once they are replicated in-house.

Unfortunately hot seating isn't available. 

As for the in-game editor, that was available on FM19 & FM20 for Game pass however, that is a different product so it isn't available on the Xbox edition.

Would it also be possible to raise any issues with achievements separately in the bugs forum please. 

The issue with returning from holiday is something we are aware of and are currently reviewing.

Hi, thanks for the positive feedback. Being unable to view the whole squad is an issue that we are aware of and are currently looking into.

Could you raise this in our bugs forum please and provide as much info as possible? Ideally we would need to know which device you are playing on, if it affects all game modes and which nations you are loading in your save. Thanks.

I don't seem to be able to even start a game at the moment. It crashes on the manager selection screen - either at the initial details section (name, etc.) or at the appearance screen. This is when attempting to start the avoid relegation challenge on Xbox Series X. Have given up after the 4th attempt, and haven't been able to test any of the other modes as yet.

Everytime we try to do an online career afyer the first game of the season finishes it goes to a loading screen where it says compiling press officer summary and it freezes permanently there. Done this multiple times have been unable to finish a single game

Obviously the classic UI was pretty good. The XBox version should also have the same interface as touch. Why is there no sidebar? Or why is there no classic tactical screen?

It did not, note updates will not generally be synchronised because while on Steam & Epic we can update whenever we want, the same is not true for Xbox (or any console) as all updates have to go through a certification process.

Aside that we need time to digest the issues coming in for Xbox edition and prepare & test fixes before we submit a new patch for cert.
