Northernpilgrim
Apart from EFL Cup defeat to League 2 Grimsby, I'm happy with the start to the season and we end August in the top half
Northernpilgrim
Another solid month, with just one defeat in September but that does see us fall into the bottom half, although we're still in a decent position
Northernpilgrim
A decidedly mixed October but we could easily have had more from any of the games we didn't win still, we remain clear of trouble

Northernpilgrim
A decent December, despite no win in three at the end We absolutely should have beaten Scunthorpe 3-0 was harsh against Charlton and we deserved more against Wimbledon which leaves us 9 points clear of relegation

Northernpilgrim
Not a fantastic February on paper but we were robbed of 2 points by Preston and only lost to Mansfield after a red card and two late goals which left us in the top half, but a playoff challenge looks a long shot
Northernpilgrim
It was a no from Blackpool
Northernpilgrim
March was a tale of missed opportunities as we gave away a 1 goal lead at home to Salford and a 2 goal lead away at MK Dons to leave us 9th in the table, and definitely not heading to the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
Before the end of March, an interview. I've attended, but I'm not sure I want it as they've gone from mid-table to one place above the bottom 4 since sacking their manager, having made the playoffs last season

Sean Blinkhorn
Shame you're not necking Pie Barms in the playoffs, but a good finish at CF regardless. Have you kept the appetite for a serious rebuild?

Northernpilgrim
In June, with no League 1 jobs even 'insecure', never mind available, I signed a 1 year contract to stay at Chesterfield

Were you surprised not to be offered any of the jobs for which you interviewed? Yeah, I was really. You'd think that promotion from each of the three divisions below would give me a shot at a League 1 club, especially as I got a relegation favourite to finish in the top half of League 1. Northernpilgrim
I've made four signings, with one more player leaving Klassen is a left back I've only gone an bagged Hazard! Sadly, it's the least famous of the three brothers, but still a good player at this level Schaub comes in at right back Cornud is a left back, brought in on loan after both Klassen and Maguire picked up injuries in preseason that'll keep them out until September and this is the squad I have on the eve of our first match. I'm hoping to bring in one more player, a striker, before deadline day
Northernpilgrim
A pretty decent start to the season, and no complaints about any of the results and that saw us end August in a promotion spot
Northernpilgrim
I did manage to get one more striker, signing this guy on a free
Northernpilgrim
Winless in the league in September and it's clear from the league table that scoring goals is a big problem for us this season
Northernpilgrim
We were better in October but we could have had more against Barnsley and Coventry and that lifted us into the playoffs

Northernpilgrim
Not too bad in November but we were very hard done by against Crewe (although we did make up for it by robbing Blackpool) and that left us 6th

Northernpilgrim
I made an unbeaten start at Walsall and we are now only outside the playoffs on goal difference
Northernpilgrim
January was a weird month, as we began with two impressive wins and performances, then suffered a narrow defeat to playoff rivals Mansfield (deserved to lose) but then somehow lost a very even game against relegation-threatened Fleetwood and then lost to another playoff rival in Rotherham, before going on to beat new leaders Luton, and Blackpool The win over Blackpool lifted us back into the playoffs, which we fell out of earlier in the month
Northernpilgrim
There was one signing, and three departures, in January Aaron Clayton should be a better backup keeper than Graham Beckett
Northernpilgrim
A decent, but at the same time disappointing, February as we blew a 2-0 lead against Crewe and dominated, but got sucker punched, against Bristol Rovers which kept us in 6th
Northernpilgrim
Unbeaten, and one match from perfect, in March and we're up to 4th, with just 6 games to play
Northernpilgrim
A slightly disappointing April but we should have had a draw against Barnsley and should have beaten Cheltenham No matter, the four playoff places are decided. All that remains on the final day is to decide the order, and therefore our semi final opponents
Northernpilgrim
A convincing win in our final league match, which saw our opponents relegated and saw us secure third place, and a home second leg. MK Dons will be our opponents
