This is probably my favourite tournament in the world, and I'm going to be putting as much attention to it as I can. Shepton Mallet played in Tier 9 last season, but got relegated, coming rock bottom of the Western League Premier Division. We'd get 5k in compensation, but I think we could negotiate a better deal ourselves, so I'm going to offer him out and see what happens... We'd make a tidy chunk of that 5k from the friendly alone, we'd get him back for next season, and we'd get 50% of any future sale! Now we just have to hope he picks Luton... Waheyyyyyyyy! I'm delighted for the club, because it's a huge deal that in a couple of years could hopefully secure our finances for a very long time. More than that, though, I'm delighted for Camara. Not only do we win the FA Vase in our own backyard, but we record the biggest ever win in an FA Vase Final - and we do it with 9/11 starters (and all 3 subs bought on) having grown up just down the road from the stadium, seeing it built before their own eyes. Teams just could not handle the combination of Jeremiah Joseph (YP7a) and Ousmane Camara (YP8a) upfront together, and they combine for 69 (nice) goals between them this year as we absolutely romp home to the title! Luton won't loan him back to us, and we're going to badly miss him next year, but we wish him every success in his Professional career - and for 3 goals, 3 assists and a 9.9 rating in our FA Vase victory, he's getting added to our Hall of Fame. Bedese Posted September 4, 2020 Author Share Posted September 4, 2020 As expected, we've not been great all season - losing Ousmane Camara (YP8a) was a huge blow - but it's been a really poor quality league with no standouts (the current 1st place team only having 64 points is a good indication!) and with two games left, we're on a four game winning streak and actually have a chance of sneaking into the playoffs through the backdoor.
