Another one gone.
Can't really complain about the month.... if we're nit-picking, we should've comfortably beaten Waterford.
We look the favorites for the title.
Insanity.... Just insanity.
We just can't stop winning. We are dominating matches as well.
This month, we out-shot our opponents 172-26, with a 59-11 advantage in shots on target. We've also out-possessed our opponents 59.2% - 40.8%. This is also with 4 of the 5 matches on the road.
We sit top-of-the-table with a 14 point cushion.
Champion's League First Qualifying Round
It's a tough matchup but not unwinnable!
Youth Intake Preview
A perfect month. Larkin was on fire! Mandroiu was also lethal for us.
We've gone 20 points clear at the top and look at that goal differential! We can now rotate the squad freely around European matches without worry of being caught in the league for the time being.
We've made a signing to boost our depth at the central midfield position. Cameron Macpherson comes to us after his contract expired at Scottish Premiership side, St. Mirren. He made 55 appearances, scoring 2 goals in his 9 seasons. He will immediately step into my first team.
Anthony O'Rourke, Irish Central Attacking Midfielder. He comes to us from Limerick F.C. and finally we have a player that can provide cover for Mandroiu. He is a spectacular player and he will play for the national team eventually.
An up-and-down month for us but that is to be expected. After we beat Astana 7-0 at home, I decided that I'd be rotating as much as possible. Somehow, we managed to continue without losing in league. We are 2-2 with Fehervar FC and the return leg is tomorrow(2 August), so it's all to play for.
We are still 20 points clear atop the league.
Champions League Second Qualifying Round
We got busted up away and get knocked out of the competition.
Home Leg - we certainly could have and should have done better.
Away Leg - We probably deserved a hair more from the match and certainly didn't deserve to lose 4-1.
At least we get some money!
We now drop down to the Europa League Third Qualifying Round to face Maccabi Haifa.
Europa League Third Qualifying Round
A 3-0 home leg set up a much less stressful away tie and we came through with aplomb.
Last Qualifying Round!
Heffernan is the jewel of our academy. He is still very raw both technically and physically but he is getting there.
Neill Buckley is our starting left back and he's been great all season. He is definitely more defensive-minded but we're working on his attacking.
Europa League Playoff
We have snuck through by the finest of margins!
Group Stage Draw - This will be difficult.
An overall great month - we advance to the group stage of the Europa League and we win 2 of 2 in League play.
We sit 15 points clear with 2 games in hand.
With all of that hard-earned prize money we managed to squeeze some upgrades out of the board.
What a month! It was great and difficult all at the same time as we played 6 matches over 12 days, rotating reserves and first-choice players. Next month sees this trend continue with us playing on the 2nd, 5th, and 8th and resuming on the 23rd, 26th, 29th, 31st, and the 3rd of November.
We've clinched the league crown with 7 games remaining but I'm looking for an undefeated season!
With 7 matches remaining......
The best prospect is Gavin Doherty - he can definitely be a fine player and isn't too far off of our top options at the position
Our first league loss.....tired legs got the better of us. We have two more matches left in the season that will complete a run of 5 matches in 10 days. We did win our first Europa League group stage match, too!
Final League Matches
We finish league play with a draw and a win with rotated squads.
Sean Bohan, our man between the sticks, had a great year, winning goalkeeper of the year.
Andy Lyons held down the right side of our defense and chipped in with 2 goals and 9 total assists on the year.
Neill Buckley chipped in 11 assists across all competitions from the left side of my defense.
Conor Levingston, our central midfielder, had a great year with 10 goals and 14 assists(8/13 in league play).
Danny Grant performed very well from his Right Attacking Midfield position, scoring 18 goals and assisting on 8.
Mark Hanratty held down the left side of my attacking midfield, scoring 13 goals and assisting on 9.
In the middle, Danny Mandroiu and Anthony O'Rourke combined for 17 goals and 20 assists.
Finally, the man leading the charge - Jack Larkin. Larkin pitched in 38 goals and 8 assists across all competitions this season(43 starts, 9 sub appearances).
A short pre-season but valuable, nonetheless.
We come back with the same squad that we left with.
Not bad, not the best.
A heavy month, but successful. We still cannot crack the Leinster Cup as we have been bounced again.
The fixtures came hot and heavy but we played very well, essentially rotating between two squads with great effect!
We sit top of the table, 10 points clear of Shamrock Rovers and 17 points clear of third-placed Cork City.
Another great month! Jack Larkin has been playing well and O'Rourke is really providing some great service!
We sit 15 points clear at the top of the table.
What a surprise!
Just a few friendlies to stay sharp. A great performance against Bolton Wanderers(League One at the moment).
We've also signed three new players on Bosmans from English sides as their contracts expired at the end of June.
Luke Jephcott - A Welsh striker - not an out-and-out starter but a great depth piece as fixture congestion will come into play down the stretch. He comes to us after making 161 appearances for Plymouth Argyle across League One and League Two.
Sean Robertson - An Irish attacker that will play on the right wing for us. He brings good mental skills and decent ball control for our level. He will add a bit of depth for us.
Shane Flynn - An Irish all-round left sider. He'll provide an option at a couple of different positions and will step into the team from day 1.
And we don't really get a reprieve....
A pretty good month - I was particularly pleased with our performance against Blackburn Rovers(we were the better side) and Lech Poznan - more on that later.
We are 18 points clear at the top. My biggest source of entertainment this season has been the verbal spat between myself and Shamrock Rovers manager, Shane O'Connor.... we do not like one another.
Euro Cup II - Third Qualifying Round
The best draw that we could've asked for.
Euro Cup II - Four Qualifying Round
Euro Cup II Group Stage Draw
A very busy month essentially sees us playing two matches each week. We have a defined A and B squad at this point and have been alternating between those to stay fresh. I would say that our A squad is head and shoulders above most teams in the league and our B side is better than most teams in the league, as well.
We sit 17 points clear at the top with two games in hand.
Ross Heffernan is showing great progress in training as well. He has been getting quite a few minutes in the league and getting even more starts in cup competitions.
A pretty good month, advancing to the FAI Cup Semi Finals and winning the EA Sports Cup. I would've loved to get something from FC Midtjylland but there is still a bit of a gap in talent, I guess.
We've clinched the league title so we can focus more on Euro Cup II and the FAI Cup.
Not great, but we're increasing our investments across the board. Hopefully this will bear fruit in the next few years.
This is a nice treat!
