ranks39
Hello again, all! I've been bouncing around a bit trying to figure out an idea for another save that I'm looking to do. I've tried a few ideas but haven't really been able to stick to many of them as I get a bit bored. This time around, I'm looking for a bit more continuity so I'm setting up a save consisting of the following: On top of this, I've selected all international players from each region and players from teams in continental competition. I've also selected "Add players to teams". The Premise of this is quite simple and non-restrictive, to build up a club(and hopefully as a result, a country and hopefully the region) to a major player worldwide using the youth academy and signing players from the five countries selected. I will be free to jump from club to club but am hoping to build a long-term club from rags to riches! I will be vacationing until the end of the 2019-2020 season and beginning unemployed. Let's see where this takes me. Your input and general enjoyment is heavily considered(this being the reason that I post here!), so if you see something that you don't like or would like to recommend challenges as I'm going through this, I'm more than happy to consider anything. Edit - I'll be using my standard manager, American - Shawn Rank, with no badges or experience to speak of. Edited May 12, 2020 by ranks39
ranks39
Cabinteely F.C. it is!!!! Facilities Finances And the Squad I'm working with Since these players from outside of my region are already in the club, I'll be under no obligation to let them go.

ranks39
We've scooped up a nice bit of cash for selling Oliver White to American second-division side, North Carolina FC. This transfer was already arranged before I had arrived. Unfortunately, he was our best player.
ranks39
July 2020 Not a great month but the Cobh Ramblers result was down to an early red card.
ranks39
August 2020 August was no better, we won 2-0 against a lower-division side in the cup first round and bowed out in a decent away performance to Sligo Rovers. We are still clinging to the third-bottom position with little sign of improvement at this point.
ranks39
September 2020 Another mixed month, but we'll definitely take 4 points from a possible 9. I was very upset to lose to Limerick at home, as they sit 9th in the table. We still sit 8th, but the margin has grown by one point over the course of the month. ranks39
Youth Intake Lots of potential, not so many immediate options. Ray Clancy - I'm in no position to turn down a decent outside back. Eddie Lyons - a hard-working midfielder with loads of potential at this level. Sam Whelan - A goalkeeper with tons of potential as well. Mark Evans - An attacking midfielder that adds some depth. Not quite ready to be a part of the first team, though. Ben Molloy - A physically-gifted center back who can provide depth in just the coming years. ranks39
End of Season A strong finish to the season with six points from nine, Shelbourne were the league champions so I'm not too disheartened by it. We finish 8th and Cobh Ramblers ravage down the stretch to overtake Limerick for ninth. Shelbourne goes up as champions and Longford, Drogheda United and Bray Wanderers battle for the second and final promotion spot. A hefty payroll budget, I probably won't even scratch the surface of that. It looks like I'm well-placed to accomplish my goal for next season
ranks39
Off-Season Signings We've penned three new signings that will help the team now and in the future. First off, Jack White - A tiny left winger(5'2"/123 lbs.) but has great aggression, determination, flair, and leadership, along with a great first touch for the level. I think that he can blossom into something special for us. He comes to us from St. Pat's Athletic. Kevin O'Reilly is a decent young full back that is already at first team level for our left back position. Hopefully we can train up a few of his attacking attributes and get him into the attack. He also comes to us on a free from St. Pat's Athletic. Finally, our biggest splash signing comes to us via Bohemians - Colin Kelly - a strong left winger for the level. He'll immediately start in that role and he'll be a very good signing for us.
ranks39
Pre-season 2020-2021 A great pre-season, although the draw with Home Farm was a touch disappointing. Here is how we'll line up this season.
ranks39
February 2021 An absolutely amazing month! We open the league with a 2-0 win against UCD and a cup win away to Bray Wanderers, before finishing off with a draw and a win! We are riding high at the moment! We sit in second just three matches in but we're playing wonderfully!
ranks39
March 2020 A busy month sees us lose some steam down the stretch. We sit second but all of the promotion and playoff spots are very tight. Our first International call-up.
ranks39
April 2020 Another busy month sees us continue to lose ground in the league, with just one win from five. Our form has fallen off of a cliff and we now sit firmly in the middle of the table. The good news - we're avoiding the bottom of the table per our goals.... the bad news - we've fallen from the promotion playoff spots. Two red cards saw us grab a late, deserved winner. ranks39
May 2020 May saw a slight uptick in form, as we beat then top-of-the table Longford in a game that we were dominated and we lost to Bray Wanderers in a match in which we dominated. We are still holding firm in the middle of the table. From her out, though, the schedule really slows down with us playing 2-3 matches per month. We've also signed Evan Farrell on a free transfer - he was a free agent. He had previously played at UCD. And John Ross Wilson, who will provide an immediate upgrade at right back. ranks39
June 2020 A very frustrating month as we played the bottom two sides at the time. We dominated both matches but missed a penalty against Cobh Ramblers and Limerick got the winner in second half stoppage time. We've dropped to 6th but there's just 7 points between 3rd and 8th so it's all there for us.
ranks39
July 2020 Another frustrating month as we continue to be wasteful with our chances. We are getting the sort of play I'd like, we just can't finish our chances. We still sit sixth, just a few points off of the playoff spots. Cobh Ramblers have surged up the table with a very solid run of form.
ranks39
August 2020 A dismal month dents our playoff hopes. We still sit just 6 points off of the playoff spots. And in the cup second round, another dominant performance sees us continue to struggle to finish.
ranks39
September 2021 We'll really kick ourselves for losing to Cobh Ramblers. We should be safe from the bottom but we can definitely move up.
ranks39
Youth Intake An interesting group, no one is ready for the first team but there are some Irish, Northern Irish, a Romanian and a Cypriot.

ranks39
October 2021 Everything lined up just perfectly for us! We played the bottom two sides in the league before finishing with a drubbing against a side that had already clinched their spot in the playoff. Cobh Ramblers fell off of a cliff at the end and we did just enough on goal differential to nose St. Pat's Athletic. What a dream! WE SNUCK INTO THE FINAL PLAYOFF SPOT! ranks39
Playoff First Round, First Leg(Home vs. Athlone Town) We've struck first! Halftime. A late free kick equalizer... That's it. It's going to come down to the away leg. Edited May 13, 2020 by ranks39
ranks39
Playoff First Round, Second Leg(Away vs. Athlone Town) Halftime. OHHHH! A 77th-minute strike!!! And a 78th-minute equalizer off of a set piece. And A straight red.... we just need to hold on and hope for penalties! Penalties it is. SCENES OF DELIGHT!!!!! ranks39
Promotion Playoff Final, First Leg(Home Vs. Bray Wanderers) Our legs are starting to tire and we're giving up far too many set pieces. A goal off of a corner sees us down 1-0. A free kick from the top center of the box, just outside. Shambles. Final, we've a massive hill to climb. Edited May 13, 2020 by ranks39
ranks39
Promotion Playoff Final, Second Leg(Away Vs. Bray Wanderers) We've pulled one back late in the first half. We've had tons of chances. A quick set piece goal to equalize. The third over two legs to have come from a set piece against us. That should about do it. A tame shot from outside of the box slowly rolls by my keeper. Too little, too late. A consolation goal to win the leg. And Bray Wanderers go on to face Shelbourne. Denied at the final hurdle. ranks39
End of Season We played well down the stretch, all praise to the squad! The Squad Obviously, the first team is massive but only a handful of players saw game minutes. Michael Kelly is the man between the sticks. He had a solid season and the fact that nobody remembers him is a good thing. Cormact Raftery was one of the consistent pieces of our defense and he played very well down the stretch. Marty Waters is our main creative force, driving up and down the left wing and cutting past any defender in his path. He notched 6 goals and 6 assists for us this season but he is certainly on the back end of his career. Colin Kelly played opposite Waters and had nearly the same production, scoring 5 goals and assisting 7 times. At just 19, he is certainly a player for the future if we can hold onto him. Finally, Sam Byrne - the man up top. Usually left on an island, he is tasked with A) getting on the end of crosses B)holding up play and C) bringing our inside forwards into the attack. He notched 14 goals in league play for us this season, making him second-best scorer in the league. Edited May 13, 2020 by ranks39
ranks39
Player Sale We've cashed in on one of our academy products to the tune of $15K, that will essentially double our bank balance. It hurts to lose such a talent(he is a true talent) but we were in no position to turn down the money. He was also looking to move on to the Irish Prem and I couldn't deny him the opportunity. ranks39
Pre-Season 2022 A good pre-season and we're ready to go and get promoted! We've added a striker in the meantime. So we're going two strikers.
ranks39
February/March 2022 A great start to the season with Sam Byrne on fire! We've managed to advanced to the Leinster Senior Cup Semi-Final against Athlone Town(in May) Happy days at the club! We sit second with almost one full pass through the entire league. ranks39
April/May 2022 A rough April turned into a decent May. Unfortunately, we crashed out of the Leinster Cup even after dominating the match. ranks39
2022 Season Review We go up, Longford go down. Finn Harps defeat Drogheda United in the playoff - Finn Harps remain in the Premier, Drogheda remain in the First Division. Here's how we finished up. We were very fortunate with injuries, as we avoided the bug. Marty Waters, my stalwart AML, is retiring just as we go up to the Premier League. Legend. First-Division Goalkeeper of the year, Michael Kelly. My Striker partnership definitely bore fruit as they both feasted with over 20 goals apiece, across all competitions. ranks39
Oh, dear..... Rank was approached by Bohemian F.C. and offered an interview. Interested in learning more about the role, Rank agreed and impressed in the interview - so much so that Bohemians approached his agent the following day. The salary bump from $27,000/year to $98,000/year and to a club with professional status made the decision for Rank. So, we move to the North of the River Liffey, to D7. We are aiming high. ranks39
February 2023 Our only complaint will be leaking a late goal to Shelbourne to draw our Premier Division opener - other than that, a great start to life at Bohemians.
