I bless the rains.

7,000 miles, 11 countries, 11 Champions Leagues, 1 dynasty.

From tip to tip.

Starting unemployed in South Africa my aim is to win the Champions League with a club from every country on my road to the Mediterranean with the final aim to take a club from the bottom of Tunisia to become the best team in the continent.

7fa3c643892b1f845c56aff03d509d66.png

This is the setup and we have all players based in Africa loaded. No youth only and I don't have to win every competition from these countries, I'll only be starting in the bottom tier of South Africa since we'll have no badges or experience. International management will also be likely but I'll only be managing the national teams or youth teams of these countries.

Let's go.

I holidayed until December 25th and then started applying for jobs in the South African 4th tier, and here we are.

Salt River Blackpool Football Club (SRBFC) , the product of a merger between Salt River’s greatest rival club’s Blackpool Sport FC (est. 1953) and Salt River FC (est. 1992). This community football club, rich in history, today represents the football fraternity of the Salt River and Woodstock communities.  Thought not limited to these areas, the club attracts members from as far as Philippi, Mfuleni, Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain.

The club and it’s members are proud of what we as a community club achieved over a short period of time. In the past five years (2006-2011), with low resources and a through a strong community backing, the club achieved feats as getting flood-lights installed on its fields, qualifying for prestigious youth tournaments, reaching semi-pro senior football and much more. SRBFC continue to grow in numbers. Recording stats as 150 active junior players registered in the following age groups under-7 to under-19. Our senior community teams consist of; Super league, Reserve Team (1st Division), 2nd Team (2nd Division) and Over-40 team.

In 2011 the club’s franchise team won promotion from the SAB Regional League (formerly known as the Castle League) to the SAFA 2nd Division (formerly known as the Vodacom Promotional League). In 2012 SRBFC franchise formed a partnership with African Soccer Development academy (ASD) for the SAFA 2nd Division 2012/2013 season. This partnership team was known as SRB-ASD.

So let me get this right....

We could have had Zeesha FC, Apex Utd or the brilliant Jean-Marc Ithier Soccer Academy. New Hellenic FC are obviously lost and Baltic Rangers are really lost. Instead we get.... the least inspiring football club name ever Salt River Blackpool. I literally don't like them just because of their name.

I don't have to stay at this club, I think you'll like that news.  The 4th tier is split into 52 groups so there's lots of great names.

There are some amazing names there.

We've got copycats like AC Milan, Basel, Liverpool, Benfica, Everton, Dundee, Juventus, Crystal Palace & Newcastle Sicilians.... (I don't even know where to start with that), but here are my favourites.

Bad Boys
Cloud 9
11 Attackers  I think 11 Attackers definitely let their GK take pens and free-kicks.
Naughty Boys
Oxygen FC
Police FC (even better if they are not a Police works side)
Slow Poison
Teenagers FC
Inspection FC

We started with 12 points from 20 games, then I took over and we got 32 points from 22 games. I'll class that as a success. :D

You got 3 red cards all season and right back Memela got all of them. Love that and love him!

Is he dirty, or can't he cope with getting up and back and is getting caught out of position?

Good job his contract is up I think.

I'm not sure, he got them all before I joined.  He got 5 yellow cards in the 20 games he played for me.

What happens when it is Naughty Boys v Police FC?  :herman:

Thankfully they're in different leagues entirely so won't be facing each other.

This is Naughty Boys group for this season.

My favourite club name there is Flymingo. I imagine them as a group of airport workers who fancy Flamengo.

A slight change of plan regarding league setup, instead of having all the league of all 11 countries loaded at all times I'm going to only load the nation that I'm managing in as well as all of their neighbouring nations. This will lower the amount of players but will hopefully work out better in the long term.
