Seeing the popularity of Mr Conte seems extremely high, I’ve decided to try make a system for his alternative 3 at the back tactic that he stumbled upon when struggling at Chelsea.

Ever since the Blues got battered against Arsenal, this system looks to emulate the style Chelsea played from this point, resulting in an amazing turn around in form that resulted in Chelsea becoming Premier League Champions.

It is based on Conte’s preferred midfield duo of Matic and Kante as Fabregas only played a bit part, and like all of Conte’s teams you’ll require a very hard working outfit capable of defending well to get the very most out of this system.

Importantly note - The left BBM is of Matic, the more creative playing more risky passes. Kante on the right will be the running BBM and will dribble more. Both take it in turns going forward. Ensure you have BBMs with these attributes.

It also uses David Luiz as the Libero, and it’s my first system created using one.

OIs

-Show opposing defensive wide players to the touchline

-Show offensive opponent wide players to weaker foot

 Results

Liverpool – P100 + Undefeated, All Cups

Couple of seasons into a previous save so we do have a good squad. We won the Premiership with an equal record 100 points, we only conceded 10 goals in the league season, proving the solidity this system brings.

Being tough to beat led us to all Cup Finals with each won of them being won, all in normal time against Man Utd in the Carabao, Man City in the FA, and Arsenal in the ECL final.

Novara – Serie C/A – Winners P97 / Record Points

Good test to have. Predicted 4th, and finished top ahead of the heavy favourites Monza. Comparing the two squads values there was a huge gulf in quality - but the solidity this system brings brought us home top spot avoiding the playoffs.

Overview

It’s never going to be a heavy scoring system, so you will need quality in the final third to get in the wins. So I believe a two striker system will be much better suited if looking to work up through the lower divisions - however this system has proved it can be good enough from the success I had with Novara.

If seeing you watch your players play and sweat like 11 soldiers out on the front line and prizing clean sheets as a manager, this system with the right players is a more than capable one that will make you tough to beat and bring in some trophies.
