vivu, March 18 in FM Career Updates
The fixtures keep coming and I keep rotating. Surprisingly the team is gelling well and probably played the best match in the season so far against basement club Sunderland. We are on a small cup run also as we stunned Championship Charlton at their home. We are well and truly peeling away from the rest of the pack early in the season.
Golden Boot Race
The Norwegian target man has been immense this month.
Huge result against Premier League Norwich (mostly youngsters) in the League Cup, but had a disappointing loss against managerless Burton who had just fired their boss. But we are still in control in the league.
The Egyptian frontman picked up the slack when the Norwegian went off the boil
Perfect month where we took the biggest scalp so far with a big upset at Norwich in League Cup. I am holidaying the the other crap cup, in which our team is through to 3rd round too.
The Egyptian drew a blank, but still held on to top spot.
Started off bad, but we bounced back strong over the month. The loss at Birmingham hurt most as we were on the ascendancy whne my RB picked up a second yellow for a challenge near the half way line .
Another blank form the leader. His form is becoming a concern.
This was a surprise as I had to draft him in from u18 as I was short on left wing due to injuries. He took his opportunity with aplomb and my main wingers going to have a task on their hand to dislodge him from the slot.
We are out of all the cups and hopefully the fixture list would become manageable. The amount of matches have been crazy.
El Sayyed got the scoring boot back on
Villan's moved in for my breakthrough star with a decent offer in closing hrs of deadline day and I negotiated with a 40% future fee cut and they accepted.
Achieved the first target of promotion and the title is almost locked in.
Almost in the bag.
Applied as a habit. Then remembered the rules I had set for myself. My contract have anther season to run
This is huge
About a month to go... I am going on leave till the last game of the season
March & April '28
After sewing up the title in early March, I let my Assman take over and went on holiday till final match. 1 loss in the 2 months showed we had a team that is very high on confidence. We dominated the overall league and Oxford is joining us in Championship via the automatic promotion slots.
Dominated by our Egyptian ace. Thankfully no interest in him so far.
Looks like the board is hell bent on getting rid of me. They expect us to win Championship next season, which is unreasonable unless they give me 30-40 mill to spend instead of the 7 mil on offer.
Good to see someone taking Coventry back up to the bigger leagues. Growing up they were in the Premier League every season and they are relatively local to me.
They were part of the EPL when I started following the game. That was the reason I was interested in the job.
The ex PSG youngster rocked the league and he has got a weird mix of clubs interested in him. Looks like a battle on the horizon to keep him.
I was expecting the major interest would have been for the golden boot winner.
The exodus has started...
It seems we are to Southampton what they are to Liverpool. Both offers accepted by board over my head. To be fair I wouldn't have rejected them either.
Carmona would be missed badly as he can play either in midfield or attack and scored 16 goals last season. He was brought in on a free from Colombian Leagues and the deal was agreed before I landed up in the hot seat.
It looks like I will be running into an old fiend, unless he moves on from relegated Everton
This should be it, unless there are some major moves till the window closes. I doubt there will be any as I was able to te my critical players to new contracts.
Apart from the three I posted earlier, rest of the moves were fringe players who were made redundant with the new arrivals.
The youngster was running his contract down at Juventus and he fills in the hole from the departure of Hernandez. My scouts reckon he is almost up to the ex Barca man's ability.
I paid over the odds for the youngster who I brought into Babelsberg. He was a top prospect my really good scouting team at Babelsberg identified, but he has been finding it difficult to crack into the first team. They made us pay a premium though.
Corentin is another ex PSG youth who came on a free after his contract at Lorient expired. He will provide competition at RB.
This is another youngster running down hi contract at Juve. Final year of the contract and listed. I have brought him in on loan with an option to but at 2 mill. I will see if I can land him for a free transfer though.
Midfield & Attack
Rafael has been on my shortlist for long. He was on the final year of his contract and we moved first.
Absolutely delighted with this piece of business. He is an Argentinian International and was available on a free. He was coming out of a long term injury and I had to provide the highest wage I had given out till now in this club, but already worth 28 mil. Even if he doesn't gel, I got some cash coming I reckon.
Another low risk option who fills in the gap left by Carmona. He can cover the positions the departing Colombian played for us and he was willing to come for relatively low wages.
Is the reputation system broken after latest update? I was surprised with the board expecting us to be promoted this season and was even more surprised when I saw this.
Used to see those kind of rep jump with Tycoon takeovers, but we did not have one. There is no way we are more reputable than Everton /Southampton/ Newcastle / Boro / Birmngham etc. Neither is our squad way too better than theirs.

We started off with a run of pretty decent fixtures and I am delighted that we avoided defeat through the opening two months. We are competitive with out dominating like last season. And the form is all the more impressive considering our main threat, El Sayyed, have missed the entire second month after making a sensational start to life in Championship with a brace in the opening day. However the worrying trend have been the habit of conceding late goals and that was very much the case when we threw away a two goal lead against an average Barnsley side.
We started of the month superbly, but a spate of injuries and a stupid sending off at Southampton led us to a disappointing end to the month
Our Norwegian TS has stepped admirably to the challenge of losing our top scorer.
The stupid transfer window closing early meant I wasn't able to replace the Egyptian yet. My scout have found some decent replacement options in free transfer market, but all of them require crazy wages or want starting role.
The temp fix is in till January. I will move them on if I get decent striker to come in.
We were sublime in the league including a 6 nil thrashing of Newcastle and a cone from behind last second winner against Forrest. The Spurs were a challenge too far for my young wards, but the end of the cup run should make the fixture list ease. We find ourselves at the top of the pile after the first set of truly challenging opponents.
The Norwegian ace is leading the charge and has worked up a good partnership and understanding with Galeano upfront.
We had our first abject performance of the season in the match against Brentford, but bounced back and had probably the most sublime one at Blackburn to close out the month.
It's really tight right now
Our Norwegian Ace got injured for few weeks... Guess when that happened.
We really missed our top scorer and the stop gag signings are far from effective at this level.
Thankfully my scouts have found a decent one to replace the Egyptian who moved to Portugal. He cost just under 5 mil and is joining us in January. Plenty of mid level clubs sniffing around, so moved quickly, before we could get 100% scouting done.
Yup... He has joined up.
Our Norwegian Ace is back and his partnership with the Italian is blossoming. An unbeaten start to the New Year means we are well and truly in control of our destiny. The only negative for the month was PSG coming in for my young MC, who is on a 5 year contract with 102 mil release clause (they offered 20 + bonuses) and I rejected as we are flush with cash and finding it difficult to bring in quality. He is pissed with me, but I dont care much as his performance have been top notch. Have told him that release clause is there for a reason.
The experienced Italian is catching up to the Norwegian youngster.
Da Silva is the one who has been unsettled. Bayern made a series of desperate attempts on deadline which topped at 50mil with loads of clauses. I have taken a huge gamble by not giving in as it will be almost impossible to replace him currently. I will revisit his situation in summer, but hopefully the team wouldn't be too affected by him.
it's a small shopping list I see
Scum got the better of us again in the cups and had couple of hiccups in league, but we are on course for a return to the limelight.
The Italian have taken over the top spot
