[FM20] It was Cambrogi in Wales, but now it's all about aggression in Wales, in England. Bellicosity, pugnacity and belligerence are all excellent words. But Welsh belligerence, in England now.

Tactics. Oct 2049

What sort of tactical instruction suits players to getting booked and sent off more?

Use tighter marking.
Get stuck in.
Extremely urgent pressing intensity.
Much higher line of engagement.

I've been playing with a Very Attacking mentality, but I want to change that. With discipline, (or lack thereof), in mind, I think Defensive is possibly a better fit and I particularly like the "frustrate the opposition" aspect. I want 22-man all-in brawls.

We're obviously going to continue to "play for set-pieces"  and "run at defence",  but I think "be more disciplined"  will suit the back-story.

"Time wasting"  is something that I have not used as a rule, but again, in line with frustrating opponents and basically shithousing the opposition as much as possible, I think it's a reasonable addition.

Left backs. Oct 2049

There a 5 DL's at the club. While some of them are decent players, they are not exactly what I need to strengthen the DNA of the club.

16755ae2f96931e3bdc05bbc359bc826.png

Bartlett & Bowley are both rubbish, but Bowley at least has reasonable mental attributes.

Barry Scott (ENG) is a reasonable back-up or would be were he not soft as hell with bravery of only 6.

Craig Kerr (SCO) is a better fit with 19 bravery and 13 aggression, but both Det and Wor are both in single figures.

Julian Butler (ENG) is probably the best of the bunch, but he's 31 and his bravery is in single figures.

Right backs. Oct 2049.

There's 7 right backs at the club with varying ability.

bc4f805e0da2609ddb4eeae2c7f90aca.png

The key PPM I want for my full backs is "gets forward wherever possible". That's in a normal save though. What I want in this save is "Dives into tackles". 1st it's "Gets Forward" then it's "Dive in".

The player who really jumps out at me is Bradley White (ENG) who is a reasonable player, but who's aggression is 17 and also has the "dives into tackles" PPM.

Centre-backs. Oct 2049

The player that jumps straight out from these is Ben Walsh (WAL) 6'5" *. He's an ex Ton Pentre player so I obviously like him, but he's not nearly aggressive enough for this Cardiff side. He's also getting paid £14,250 per week which is pretty high considering that the next highest earner is on £8,750. He's going to have to go, (which is a shame).

If Ben Walsh (WAL) 6'5" * isn't a Cardiff type of player, O'Connor (ENG) certainly is. 16 aggression, 18 bravery and the "dives into tackles" PPM. That's got to be good for a couple of red cards at least.

Scouting. Oct 2049

I had a few different types of playing style in mind for this phase of the save, but as I have been looking about the squad yesterday and today, I have come to the conclusion that I want to do something different. I've done Youth Only to death and I want to do something completely different to what I've done before. Don't get me wrong. I will still be focusing on developing young players and especially products of our Academy, and my GK will still be scoring goals, but I want to add a different aspect to it.

Where as much of the Ton Pentre save was about players being poached, and then about us winning a European trophy, I enjoyed the middle part more than the actual winning of the trophy part. So I want something to grab me. I've often looked on with envy, (and occasional scorn and ridicule), while people bleat on and on and on about "club DNA" this and club DNA that, but I've never actually done it myself. It's about time I gave it a go so that I know what I'm talking about.

So what do I want the DNA of the club to be? Well really and truly, I want them to be horrible barstards. I want them to literally kick everything that moves and not have a care in the World when doing so.

With that in mind, I think the following is important. (and this is influenced heavily from the Reddit post I linked you to earlier).

Aggression.  77ee80ec53f718aaa2748f5c5fc8e3ef.png

Bravery39ca2320ef645c5b3bccab33f9435a27.png

I considered using the hidden attribute "Dirtiness", by using the Editor, but let me show those of you who don't know, what player edit screen looks like.

At the very top the CA and PA are shown and my eyes are automatically drawn to it. I don't want to see that info.

Even if I were to concentrate and not look at the top at all, the "Dirtiness" attribute is sandwiched in between Consistency and Important matches, with Injury Proneness just below. I don't want to see that info so I'm afraid I'm going to just have to ignore Dirtiness.

ed192539da12536f60b650d162c630b9.png

So now we know the 4 attributes involved in the club DNA, I have to think about the values. Ideally I would like them all to be 15+. but that's not realistic. I need to set my expectations lower. I thought about having them all at 10+ but that meant that I might miss out on players who have really high scores in 3 attributes but just 1 poor attribute.

In the end I decided that I would start off with quite a conservative DNA and then increase things as we go. In a leaf taken out of the @Mikaelinhoplaybook I have decided to group the attribute scores together and ensure that they are greater than 40. I personally think this is a little low though, and I will be concentrating matters as time progresses. (I'm thinking about increasing it by 1 each season, but I'm not sure if that is possible or realistic at this stage).

As usual though, I have players who will be an exception to the above rule. (They are made to be broken right?) And in this case it will revolve around players with particular PPM's.

Again, taking huge influence from the Reddit post, I would love to see the following PPM's learned by my players.

Dives into tackles934e22ed4be788e79dd0b4f008debc3a.png

Winds up opponents

Argues with officials

Gets crowd going

I don't want to just copy what was done in the Millwall save though. I want to put my own slant on it. I'm also very aware that the above PPM's don't really cater for the artistic wizard in the squad and I think that our flair players can certainly impact on things in this area. With that in mind I have been looking at what other PPM's might encourage conflict on the pitch. Something that i have always shied away from is "Likes to beat man repeatedly", because I think it's counter-productive, but I plan on having a go at that, and if we are going to use that, how about "tries tricks and skills" too. Can you imagine having all these 6 PPM's. It would be hilarious. The problem I have is that although you can teach Dives into tackles and tries tricks and skills in the normal way, you have to inherit the other 3. That's not quite so easy and I haven't seen a single player who has any of the inherited PPM's and there is also no way to search for them without scouting a lot and then painstakingly going through each report.

But that's part of the challenge. Scouting is something that I have got out of the habit of doing and quite enjoyed it at Ton Pentre. I would like to do the same thing again now and really concentrate in depth on scouting. The problem here is that Scouting is expensive. Scouting is very expensive, and we are in League 1.

I have already had a little look at the scouting page to look at GK's, but let's have a bit more of a look now that we have introduced the club DNA to proceedings.

A problem I might have is that I'm using a small database. This is the scouting package I have inherited.

cdb9d3c05a6c64fd3286b5669cfbb6f4.png

And the Youth Package is 1 level lower.

6e4aa566d4f9731cb78587b347477299.png

So with that in mind, when I search for players with no filters, there are just 3,896 returns, If I then include only players who are interested in a transfer, it drops to 2,329 players. I wonder how many of these players are going to have the "inherited PPM's" I need? Anyway, that's part of the challenge so let's just see how it goes. What is the single most important attribute for this side? Aggression, so let's filter by aggression and see what we've got. Actually, we are not going to be able to scout as many players as I would like, so let's limit the players we are going to scout to those with the best/highest aggression.

If we look for players who are interested in joining Cardiff and who's aggression is 20, (or might be 20 when it comes to scouting), then we have 56 results returned. This is a far more manageable number. Obviously not all these players will have 20 aggression, but the known knowledge available suggests at this time that they could possibly have 20 aggression. Obviously as the scout reports return the number of players who actually have aggression 20 will reduce significantly from the 56 initial results.

a0c349022c538f34ecc75aac54fd4cf9.png

As you can see there is very little info to go on and I have no idea how good any of these players are so we will just have to wait for the reports to come in.

Where as in the past I would be asking the DoF to suggest players to sign, I am not interested at all in doing this here.

MC's Oct 2049.

This is going to be a key area for us in terms of discipline, (or indiscipline to be more accurate). I want these my starting midfielders to be flying into contract with carefree abandon. Happy to win the man even if the ball is long gone. I don't really care about how good a footballer they are. I just want them to stop the opposition playing. How that fits in with the rest of the tactic remains to be seen.

20b7ecd2c83a00b343c79989d08c0ae1.png

Nathan Jarret. (WAL) jumps out at me from this list. Not because he is at the top, but because he has double figures in each of the DNA attributes and totals 55 across them. For some reason though I have a "." after his name to suggest that when I looked at him I didn't like him for some reason. This could have been done now, but equally could have been done when I was Ton Pentre manager. He's actually more of a utility defender who can also play DM, so I'm going to leave him for now. He does have the PPM "dives into tackles" though, so I think he will be an important squad player this season.

Colin Edwards (ENG) looks to be just about the best player in this area, but his aggression is only 9. While not ideal, the other DNA areas more than make up for that and he scores 52 across all 4. He also has the "Dives into tackles" PPM. His contract expires at the end of the season though so I need to either re-sign him or flog him quick. We can't afford to lose a player valued at £1.6M for nothing.

73133f4ea81628bc73adba5c5851f66c.png

Dafydd Jones (WAL) looks a decent player, but I think he falls a little short on "nasty" rating. His bravery is only 8.

62f6bfe78015185085794b9eef1c1d6d.png

(41) Martin Relish (WAL) is a product of our Academy so I obviously like him, but although he has loads of PPM's, none that particularly suit our "nasty" ethos.

f91db48f4ce7291a72e25dac82be871d.png

Angelo (BER) is one who has double figures for all DNA attributes and he again has the "dives into tackles" PPM.

b9311e7c8f8f2628c93f33243ab451c6.png

While I certainly think these players are good enough to keep us up, I think they are soft and none of them probably have a long-term future at the club.

ML's Oct 2049.

The only left winger we have is Ogbonna. (NGA) SELL who is about as soft thing from Softville called Mr Soft. He's also a "righty" playing on the left. My only hope is that we have a "lefty" playing on the right who doesn't appear on this list. The Ogbonna. (NGA) SELL contract expires at the end of this season. He will NOT be staying. Having said that, if he was a "lefty" and was younger, his DNA attributes actually add up to 48, so he meets the criteria. I just don't like his 7 aggression rating.

84196165103ebaa40a264ea8285ee184.png

You know what..... If he was younger and had "tries tricks" or "beats man repeatedly", then I might actually like him. It's just that aggression rating.

MR's Oct 2049

We're really not looking great in the wide positions, either in terms of quality or DNA.

5bb8a999891e2ec0cf9888642f6cef0d.png

The one slight positive is that (45) Chris Parry (WAL) is the best in this area, (at least in terms of ability), and he's a product of the academy.

Harry Grew (ENG) is probably the pick of the bunch, but he's really not good and his "nasty" DNA rating barely scrapes through at exactly 40.

Code of conduct. Oct 2049

If we want to encourage our players to properly get stuck in, we can't exactly fine them when they do exactly what we want them to do.

With that in mind we are introducing an unusual code of conduct, (again inspired by the Reddit thread). Where as I don't think they fined players for anything at all, I will still be fining players for missing training and going AWOL, (and I would also fine players for shoddy time-keeping if I could).

Spoiler

I have just finished reading the Reddit series, was disappointed it ended so soon but was a great read. Looking forward to seeing how it goes with your challenge, are you going to be setting card and foul targets?

What do you think will be the priority, success then going down the discipline route or vice versa? Understand you are getting a setting up the policy to get aggressive players but curious, would a new signing slightly under the required ratings come in if you thought was key to promotion for example.

Anyway good luck!

It was indeed a shame that it ended too soon.

In terms of indiscipline targets, I haven't set any as yet, but I'm also looking to just get this season out of the way 1st. Once I can see what we have managed to do this season it ill give me a better idea of where we are and what we might be capable of achieving. I think that it's something will evolve and increase though as we manage to bring in players who are suited to the unpleasant stuff.

My priority isn't success at all. Success will be a bonus. I've just won the EURO Cup with a little Welsh club and I think I can rest on my laurels for a little bit in that respect. No, this phase of the save is all about the journey. I will be selling good players who do not fit the required criteria and I will be signing poorer players who do fit it. In terms of the inherited PPM's I will even be signing players with very little actual footballing ability. I just need to find them 1st.

Oct 2049

Domestic games. A decent start to my tenure with a win and a clean sheet, but it didn't go quite so well after that. We're out of the relegation zone though and my plan is to keep it that way.

Goal-scoring keepers. We were awarded a penalty against Doncaster, but unfortunately I had forgotten to set my GK's as taker and it was missed by an outfield player.

Discipline. I didn't really know what to expect in this area, but we have received 0 red cards and just 12 yellow cards in the 5 games played. That's a pretty low starting level, but I'm sure things will improve.

Yellow cards

Red cards. We've not received and red cards this season, (at least not in the league), but maybe we can look at this as another form of scouting. Blackburn have had 4 players sent off in the league this season but are still sitting pretty in 2nd place. That's the type of attitude we need to try and emulate. :applause:

Goal-scoring keepers. We've been awarded 3 penalties since I took over. An outfield player missed the 1st one and Kennedy (ENG) has missed the next 2. Payjot (CRO)'s 58% isn't looking so shabby now.

Discipline. We only received 11 yellow cards and 0 red cards this month. Bradford City received not 1 but 2 red cards against us, (and still won), Blackpool received 1 red card against us and still won and Grimsby had 6 players booked as they also beat us. That's the top level shithousery that we should be unleashing on others. :(

Domestic games. This isn't brilliant, but it's a distinct improvement. Even with 6 points from 15 this month, we are still in the relegation zone. We have at least started scoring goals.

Discipline. We collected 17 yellow cards this month and no red cards. I've come across a problem and it's that I can't find a single player who has an inherited PPM like "argues with ref", or "winds up opponents". This was going to be a big part of this phase of the save and if I can't find anyone at all who carries the PPM then I might just let the discipline thing go.

Domestic games. We're in really good form and I think the Bradford game is the only game we have been held scoreless in months.

Goal-scoring keepers. For the 1st time in this save, I can report that Kennedy (ENG) scored a penalty and didn't miss one in the same month. His success ration is "up" to 40%.

Discipline. We wear this fine like a badge of honour. 6 players booked against Bradford, but we still didn't win.

a216baac007c0578b6b87f930b2e34f5.png

We're up to 3rd in the yellow card rankings. We're 9 behind Shrewsbury and with 6 games remaining there is a decent chance of hitting top spot by the end of the season. 14 yellow cards this month and Bradley White (ENG) became the 2nd player sent off under my tenure,, (again for a 2nd yellow), against Blackpool

Youth Production. Mar 2050

I've been going through the previous Youth Intakes at Cardiff and nicknaming them all with the year that they came through the intake.

I've had to go back to the 2036 intake, (14 years ago), to find the 1st good player.

8028fbf64a781b186c0a4bc3f46c547b.png

It seems like decent players were far more common once we go back past 2036, so I'm guessing that our facilities have been downgraded since then, (probably more than once).

It's been a long time since I managed in England and I don't really know how the Youth Level works.

Downwards trend. Apr 2050

The club has been on a general downwards trend over the last couple of decades and I'm wondering if our financial position is a bit false in that it's a carry-over from more successful times and actually we are not as solvent as we might be.

f28f704f8fd7784ecd7b1e7b47a5a298.png

The finances show that we were up about the £15M mark about 5 years ago and although we have been generally been losing money, there is a significant boost each season. As we are in League 1 rather than a big league, I would expect this to be season-ticket related rather than sponsorship, prize money or TV revenue.

Discipline. We have our 1st straight red under my regime. William Hughes (ENG) shown a straight red for a two-footed lunge that doesn't look like a two-footed lunge. Either way, he was sent off and I haven't appealed and also haven't fined him. As far as I'm concerned he can get stuck right in again as soon as he is available again.

fd77ac8c89579d15dcca6c110bc7b743.gif

We weren't able to overhaul Shrewsbury and Bradford in the yellow card stakes, but I'm positive that we would have topped the list had I been managing for the entire season.

Red cards were less satisfying and I put this down to us playing "defensive" at the start of my tenure.

Ok.... so that might be a problem. I didn't realise it was going to be that expensive. :( We have 5e279e0243c47bdde10d1ef443ebeaf4.png in the bank now and I have 5102271caada616aba9d988f0fc2523a.png of that available to spend on players. Anyone who reads my stuff knows that I like building up an early surplus of cash to keep the board away from selling players that I want to keep. I'm hoping to get into the Playoffs at least this season and with that sort of consistent form comes attention from other clubs. It's not easy to go straight out and sign new players because of the restrictions we've placed on ourselves, so we could be leaving ourselves exposed. Having said that, I'm desperate for some good intakes. It feels like an age, (over a decade I think), since I had a good one.

Summer Transfer Window. Sept 2050

Dom Owen (WAL) has a "nasty" DNA rating of 44, (minimum requirement is 40). He's Welsh and he adds some depth up front and can cover both flanks.

b9d0ab5a053c9ff248ca9bb599a465f1.png

I really don't understand player valuations. Colin Page (WAL) was signed on a free to provide a little more squad depth, and in posting this I have just realised that he is somehow worth £2.8M! His "nasty" DNA rating is 50 and he is Welsh. He also has the "dives into tackles" PPM. I think I see him more as a MC than a SC, but he's here in a support capacity.

b6da0fe1350d2072304d42f86e0a6c46.png

John Lloyd (WAL) isn't much of a player, but I just saw his aggression level and thought he would do for me. His "nasty" rating is 43 and he's Welsh and he has the PPM "dives into tackles". That'll do for me.

6d8733b64c78f91dcb097628247bd2a7.png

Although (47d) Andrew Topley (NIR) is N.Irish, he also has Wales as a 2nd Nationality. His "nasty" rating is 50.

a84b679f471fe1d02c9ad8e1cb15e227.png

(36) Callum Green. (WAL) came through the Cardiff Academy 14 years ago. He has a "nasty" rating of 53 and will offer depth at centre-half. He's adds to the growing number of players at the club who has "dives into tackles" as a PPM.

d6bf804fefd1b529d415c8a03cc21825.png

McCarthy-Richards (WAL) isn't really my type of midfielder. He's more of a destroyer than a playmaker, but he sooo fits into the "nasty" DNA with a score of 56 and has the "dives into tackles" PPM. He's perfect for us so I have snapped him up. @ellzoasked recently if I was going to sign players who were maybe not quite up to standard but who fit the DNA and this player is a perfect example. I have already chosen not to sign players who fell short of the 40 points "nasty" DNA score and I will be sticking to this.

fa45dfd15ecb09e6324f3ceae33b93c5.png

We didn't really need another centre-half, but Arwel Jones (WAL) is Welsh, has a "nasty" score of 57 and not only has the "dives into tackles" PPM but also has the elusive "argues with officials" PPM. I just HAD to sign him. Now to find someone with the "winds up opponents" PPM.

ec14f915204ebaf789aafa6b262b8348.png

I'm usually not overly keen on signing loan players, and while we really don't need a centre-half, the idea of signing Jones (WAL) * is more about hoping that we can sign him on a permanent deal at some time. (The plan is that we get promoted this season and then sign him next season). He has a "nasty" score of 57 at the age of 20 years old and of course he also has the "dives into tackles" PPM. I can't remember if I van mentor a player in on loan, but would love to get him arguing with ref's from Arwel Jones (WAL).

323f3c03231bb769e4a7ea6ac9dc379e.png

The transfer window is about to close and I'm really looking for a striker, and in particular a young striker. I haven't managed to find one though that meets our "nasty" DNA  restrictions. Here is the sort of player who I would usually have been interested in signing, but have been unable to do so because of the "nasty" DNA.

George Griffiths HG was a player who was poached from the Ton Pentre Academy but who I then signed later on. He is out on loan at Barry and I would love to sign him but his "nasty" DNA is only 39, (so he falls 1 point short of the 40 point target).

94013ee6a19922a3006a53d266e60c99.png

(37a) McGoona (WAL) was one of my favourites at Ton Pentre, but we evolved past his level of ability and I had to move him on. He's Welsh, a much needed striker and his "nasty" rating is 43 so he just slips in on loan.

961e34931448249f993da472f08d2069.png

67e8a255f745ab347739a95557fd4af1.png

I was looking as a young striker who would come in and be happy sitting on the bench and Neil Holden (WAL) is it. He's Welsh and scores 51 on the "nasty" scale

Pre-season

a36f1d09ce768a30653599d8fc470494.png

Domestic games. I'm happy with our start in the league because our best player Harry Grew (ENG) has been out injured and only returned in the last game. He scored 30 goals last season and is obviously a big loss. The 2 defeats in the Cup were actually draws that resulted in defeat on penalties so there are very fine margins involved.

Goal-scoring keepers. No goals so far this season, but on the plus side we haven't missed any penalties. Last season we seemed to miss loads.

Discipline. We've received 24 yellow cards during this period

Frustratingly we haven't had any red cards yet this season, and I'm particularly envious of Coventry and Swansea who had already received 2 red cards.

Domestic games. We're obviously better at home than we are away, but winning at home and drawing away will do me fine. An unbeaten month is always good.

06659cdbbfcb095cae1af74af7382458.png

cf6f9caceebc9c7eb94dc70c6d84c083.png

Goal-scoring keepers. Kennedy (ENG) has had 15 shots this season, 9 of which have been on target. Unfortunately none of these have been penalties and he remains goal-less this season.

a53fc33b8e2720b9541adc27e6d64c81.png

Discipline. We are 2nd in the table of yellow cards, which is good going considering we are 3rd in the league and the only side above us are Maidenhead who sit in 18th. Obviously it's easier for the poorer teams to collect cards because by and large they will have less of the ball and spend more time defending. We only collected 14 yellow cards this season, but perhaps that's a price to be paid for going unbeaten.

93e670cf49db6bdf901a7c5dc31980c9.png

Dafydd Jones (WAL) has received 6 yellow cards in 8(1) appearances. We need a few others to follow his lead.

024bdb247edc794c392e1962b6a8f5e2.png

We still haven't received a red card this season, but there have been plenty of them elsewhere.

ccb787597cf75d0a99e0f841ebcd9e1e.png

Discipline. The top of the table clash with QPR was an eventful affair. Injuries, penalties, and 3 red cards topped off with 3 great big points and an equally satisfying clean sheet. The only thing that I would have changed if I could is that I wish we had earned more than 4 of the 10 yellow cards on show.

eda72e87f70e5b56f999e97ba2f81fcb.png

Dafydd Jones (WAL) was shown 2 straight reds this month. :applause:As well as the red in the Cup defeat to QPR, he was also sent off against Wigan. As well as the 2 reds, he's also accumulated 6 yellows in just 13(1) appearances.

We're still trailing Maidenhead by 3 yellow cards.

86b061fa991dfeabc1a821ed637f1e6f.png

Dafydd Jones (WAL)  is doing his best as far as yellow cards are concerned, but 2 red cards mean a 3 game suspension so he's missed out on the opportunity for more.

DNA PPM's. Jan 2051.

Dives into tackles. This is the 1 PPM on the list that doesn't have to be inherited, It can just be trained which is obviously much easier. Arwel Jones (WAL) is the only player on this list who has a 2nd "nasty" PPM.

McCarthy-Richards  (WAL)
Nathan Jarrett. (WAL)
O'Connor (ENG)
Tom Wilson (ENG)
(36) Callum Green. (WAL)
(49) Jamal Thompson. (WAL)
Arwel Jones (WAL)
Bradley White (ENG)
Colin Edwards (ENG)
Colin Page (WAL)
Dafydd Jones (WAL)
Jones (WAL) *
(46) Will Redwood. (WAL)
(50h) Terry Moore. (WAL)
(49) Craig Giles. (WAL)
(49) Kai Moss. (WAL)

Winds up opponents. We don't have any of these but I'm still on the lookout and very keen to bring some to the club.,

Argues with ref's. We've got 2 players with this PPM and 1 of them, Arwel Jones (WAL), also has the "dives into tackles" PPM.

Arwel Jones (WAL)
(50j) Lee Thompson. (IRL)

Gets crowd going. I haven't managed to find a player with this PPM yet, (never mind about been able to sign one). I think it's really important and I can only dream of a day when we create a terribly aggressive environment to play football in, with players diving into tackles all over the pitch, the referee losing control, opposition players getting frustrated and reacting, and the crowd baying for blood. Is that too much to hope for?

Domestic games. We're generally ok going forward, but we're conceding too many goals and it's that which is costing us. Luckily, those around us are not taking advantage of our frailties.

149447687b1f043d3fc23da373d27306.png

Discipline.  Dafydd Jones (WAL) is trying to keep the number of red cards up on his own. This is his 3rd straight red of the season, and at that time nobody else at the club had even received 1.

Inspired by his actions though, Bartos (ENG) became the 2nd player to receive a straight red in the very next game. Personally I think he was unlucky, but I won't be appealing and I certainly won't be fining anyone for getting a red card.

Youth Intake day. Mar 2051

It's actually a little better than I was expecting, but that's not saying much.

Domestic games. An unbeaten month sees us top the table by 6 points with games left to play.

Domestic games. When we lost against Millwall & Ipswich I thought we were going to choke. We just got over the line in the end.

Goal-scoring keepers. Kennedy (ENG) finished with 6 goals from 8 penalties attempted.

Discipline. We're still in the early stages of this ill-discipline thing so I'm not sure if these sort of levels are good or bad.

Yellow cards. Frustrated to drop from 2nd to 3rd so late in the season, but I expect to have more luck next season as we get battered in the Championship.

over a hundred yellows is very dirty, are one of the other 2 teams a league record? Not sure i've seen as high as 131 yellows.

Edit - looked up my game to see how i compare, 2 seasons ago i managed 136 Yellows, 6 reds in Ligue 2 (38 games), only 111 yellows and 2 reds this season in 40 games .

Looks like you have some work to do as i make no effort to actually be dirty.

We're in the very early stages in terms of discipline.

You can't hope to set records when you are winning the title because we have the ball too much.

As the level we play at increases I would expect the card count to also rise.

This is League 1. It's interesting that the general trend for yellow cards is on the up year by year, (no idea as to a reason at this point), but also that the red card count this season was much lower than to be expected based on previous seasons.

I think this possible suggests that while you might not be trying to be dirty, 136 yellows and 6 reds is pretty dirty. It would be interesting to see the discipline history in your league/save @Thebaker

11 yellows is reasonable for Cardiff, but when you consider that he was shown red cards which means that he missed a total 11 games suspended. Either way, we "improved" things from last season to this.
