Incorrect Offside Decision

Recommended Posts

This went in my favor so I'll take it but just wanted to report it either way. I scored a goal that was blatantly offsides but was allowed to count. The game may not have registered the previous player's touch even though he deliberately played the ball. The goal I am referring to is the Wigan equalizer.

I have situation where the team scored goal, but it was disallowed for offisde. When I seen replay. The player wich was marked as in offside, but he was behind goal line. So the player could by no means be in the offside, because behind the goal line, he is no longer part of the field. In the game it was offside. The rules of football say something else.

We apologise for not getting back to you sooner.

This is a good spot, thanks for sending this in.

We will update our offside bug with your PKM.

Cheers

Do you have a PKM for us to have a look at?

I haven't PKM. I have many situations in FM that I see and rate differently. According to players' behavior in reality. According to football rules. I don't have time to record every single situation. Also because I have other duties and I am not paid for it.

As I wrote. A player cannot be offside by the rules if he is behind the goal line because the area behind the goal line is no longer part of the field. No PKM is required for this. That's the rules of football. I write what I see in a match.

How do you expect them to do anything about it if you won't even bother attaching the pkm?

The correctness or otherwise of the decision is not in dispute.  In order, however, to identify why this has occurred and fix the relevant code, the developers will need a pkm of the match to interrogate the code.  Given that this doesn't happen very often in the game, without the pkm it cant be fixed.

I have so many points to FM that I could write a book about it.  One of the main points is the overstatement of unreal players and some clubs whose players play better than the best players and clubs in the world. They score goals with 100% efficiency from anything.  If I had to concentrate on what bothers me, I probably wouldn't be playing Football Manager anymore, given some special events in the matches. So I'd rather focus on why I like Football Manager than on what bothers me.

You made a post about a bug. You obviously care about it. What was the point of the post? Without the pkm it's just spam

Ref here; that's offside.  You can't avoid offside by "hiding" just off the field when the pass is sent

Law 11.4 --

"If [an attacking player] re-enters from the goal line and becomes involved in
play before the next stoppage in play...the player
shall be considered to be positioned on the goal line for the purposes of offside."
