Suspended for how many games?

I'm selecting the squad for the SA KO Cup Semi Final against Sundowns and when it comes to the centre-backs I notice that 2 players are 1 booking away from a suspension.

I look at Therlo's "Bans" page, and it suggests that all South African domestic games are grouped together in respect of discipline, with the exception of the South African FA Cup and that's good to know in advance.

571981b14626a4cdf6350cc28bdbb012.png

No let's have a look at Njabulo's "Ban" info.

e82c2f87cf66f35355b390fd1092f6e0.png

WTF!  He got a 9 (NINE) match ban for something! When did that happen and what did he do?

These are the disciplinary rules in the South African FA Cup and it's still not clear. Could he have assaulted another player and then had the suspension increased?

He hasn't been sent off this season.

Although he was sent off 3 seasons ago, it was in the League rather than a Cup match so that can't be it.

Ok, here we go. He was sent off in a Cup match, (and in the league), 4 seasons ago.

4 seasons ago would make it @andycharin charge. I would love you to see if you can have a look at this and maybe try and work out what he did please?

He was playing for Ajax CT at the start of the season, but it actually happened after he was transferred to Highlands Park.

[Edit]

He was sent off in the Final, (which they won).

I can just see the commentary now. "Njabulo's Zidane'd him!

is it a 2 match ban for the red card? then the serious offence tagged on top?

Maybe he slapped 7 other players, rather than just taking it out on 1.

Also. Mbombela were top and undefeated? they only got promoted last season!

I think they were only top because they had played more games. They've dropped to 5th now but have still won 5 of 8 games. (Although interestingly they still have a negative goal difference).

SA KO Cup. We have 3 Trophies in the bag and we've made the final of a 4th.

African Confederations Cup. We've been given what seems to be an easy group, (although isn't Egypt domestic football strong in relative terms?)

Goal-scoring keepers. After Mashigo SELL got off the mark from the spot against Ajax, Mofokeng came in for the 1st Sundowns game and although we won all the games this month, no more GK goals were scored. I was hoping that I was going to be able to register the FGN players for the group stages of the Continental competition, but either we weren't able to or I missed it. Either ways they still can't play. :( As it happens there are more than enough games at the moment so that it doesn't matter, but I would say that we're probably not capable of winning it without our FGN contingent. Mofokeng will be annoyed that he wasn't able to add to his tally against Young Africans, but Sibiya was on a hat-trick when the penalty was awarded and I had forgotten to untick the box.

Jimbo what’s your reasoning behind always having your keeper on set pieces? Is it purely for a bit of fun? You must concede quite a few from counter attacks?

I think that it's quite appropriate that I share this goal with you.

He had loads of time to get back in goal. He just chose not to.

That takes a wicked bounce ! When it lands it looks like it’s going wide, then it spins inside the post !

Can you please tell your keeper that if at 1st he doesn’t score? But gets a second chance.  Can he please welly it preferably in the top corner but anywhere will do

I was sure it was going wide!

When I get back to Cambrogi I will experiment with changing the SK(a) role to something else and see how that works. I'm sure the GK never used to stay upfield as long as he does now.

I make that a quadruple, (of sorts), but the media don't agree. The trophy cabinet does not lie though. d5223ce69a31c631b13bc3f2de14adbc.png 4 trophies means 4 trophies. ;)

African Confederations Cup. We're comfortably easing through the group and are yet to concede a single goal, (even without our FGN contingent).

South African Premiership. We just keep winning. As time goes on I'm becoming more and more agitated about the game that we lost. Without it, we would be unbeaten and as it was my fault it sort of weighs on my mind more than it should.

Winter Transfer window. Feb 2040

I'm not sure if we're going to be here next season. I suppose it depends how I get on over the rest of the season.

20ae28c1940320e6e39dcb92a2449e8f.png

Qwabe was signed for £50k. It was a bit of a punt and I'm not sure how good he's likely to be. He is cheap, young and adds some depth.

4cab28f1e366d8780080c090df9fd5d3.png

Tefu was signed for £200k and I bought him based on a 5.0 PA scout rating that has reduced down to a 4.0 PA coach rating.

799850d3562e93c0d2e16550ec93fa66.png

Baloyi was one of my main targets. Although he's only 18, I can see him making an immediate impact. We pent spent £250k on him, but I think he will easily be worth that.

53536ecec3887ea65010b31416aef800.png

Mayambela * came with a hefty price tag of £1M, but he was my main target and I think it will be a good investment.

ff3df3bf05a495192054e17ac104049b.png

We spent £200k on Shangase and again, it's an investment based on a scout report. I like his passing/technique/first touch for a 16 year old though.

08e6738e1621747ac60478e29ea43098.png

I was actually looking for a right back rather than a centre-back or a utility player, but I really like his physical ability and while Moeketsi is more of a centre-half than a full back, he will do a job. The DoF actually arranged this deal and I was happy to agree.

8947c783e96c7145fc64649708ad930b.png#

Pule was another who was signed by the DoF and again, I'm only too happy to agree.

f66e17318ccc3faec87a624c74bebf06.png

Regi is the last signing of the season and again he was signed by the DoF. I obviously love that he's 6'4" and has 17 for jumping. He's good enough to feature in our midfield already.

If it goes boobies up between now and the end of the season, I haven't completely ruined things and if we have to stay we will be in a VERY strong position.

Didn't expect to play so soon.

Congrats @noikeee in the Mexican campaing and winning the ConcaChampions. And it's interesting to see the development brought by @Mandy42 and @Jimbokav1971 going to South Africa. It's a shame that the game doesn't have other options to play in Africa without custom leagues. About the first club, I concur with Jimbo assessment that a manager with Managervich reputation shouldn't be in the bottom division of the country. And when I saw talks about going to South Africa, I was pretty sure that we would end up where we are now.

With how well we are doing in charge of Kaizer Chiefs, I think I made a significant error in leaving FSS. At the time though I thought I was going to be for a season of toil and slog and didn't really fancy it if I;m honest.

I was wrong. This is how they are doing this season. They sit 7th in the league, but if you look a little further you will see that the team that @Mandy42built, (I can't remember if I made any signings), has only lost 3 league games all season. I am absolutely positive that with the addition of a couple of centre-backs and my set-piece nous, we would have given the top 2 a right run for their money. In hindsight I wish I had stayed and won SA National First Division and THEN let @Makoto Nakamuramove on to somewhere like Kaizer Chiefs. I feel all cheap and nasty. :(

It is Mexico mate, every WC is a good one.

They are a like England, without the obscure WC, of course. Competing in the highest level is always a overperfomance for them.

African Confederation Cup. We finally conceded a goal in this competition. Must admit I was a bit peeved.

4431232d5eaebec6ae5cb27325a8ba4e.png

The most obvious answer is for Comitis to come in and start games, (and he will), but the problem with that is that although I have now been able to register the FGN contingent for the African Confederation Cup, but unfortunately could not include Comitis because he represented Sundowns in Continental competition prior to joining us.

52aa232841873eca87868b4f7245a53e.png

In truth, Comitis appears to be significantly better than MofoKeng, so we will only struggle in the African Confederation Cup, (where we are at the Quarter Final stage), and where Mashigo SELL will have to play.

Amazing defending. Mar 2040

We've just drawn a game, (against Mbombela Utd in the league), and there was the most amazing tackle by them to save a certain goal that I thought I had to share. 7

Youth Intake Day. Apr 2040

7a049539a2136d7b23f0ce2507d6b696.png

Squad by PPA. The biggest thing that I should point out here is that we have 17 players in the intake rather than 16 as is usual. I'm guessing that this is because we have poached the above GK from Chippa Utd, but I must admit that I have missed the poaching message. Apologies.

7a3e6d396758e8e8c048cf9a3fa79ff0.png

Now I know that we all play the game in different ways but something I have been doing in my Cambrogi save is using the editor to look at players on Youth Intake Day and compare the PPA, (Perceived Potential Ability), PA, (actual Potential Ability), and CA, (Current ability) so that we can learn a bit more about Youth Intakes

I appreciate that some people will be dead against this, so what I'm going to do is hide this info as a spoiler, so if you don't want to look at it then you don't have to, but if you are interested then you can have a look and see what differences there are.

THE FOLLOWING SPOILER CONTAINS CA AND PA INFO FOR THIS INTAKE. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS INFO THEN PLEASE DON'T OPEN IT.

Spoiler

So the 1st thing we are going to look at his PPA. (Perceived Potential Ability). This is basically the PA represented in star form that most of us use on a day to days bases. The squad is ranked by the PA stars here and that's also what I use to nickname the players.

3287f73eb98c4f44306f3b0fb8293865.png

Next we are going to look at PA, (actual Potential Ability), which we usually can't see. The reason I started doing this in my other thread was to show people quite how far out the initial star ratings can be. If people are making snap judgements using the stars, then they need to be aware of how accurate this info is.

4aa97760f0d316fb93ea02c7654d04fe.png

Now let's just look at the PA stars, (the squad is now ranked by actual PA rather than perceived PA and see how much of a difference there is.

d1750b332788656a102f5cad91d29245.png

That's a huge difference.

(40m) Siphele Thwala was ranked 13th of 17 in the group by PPA, but by actual PA he is now ranked 5th of 17. (+8)
(40q) Moses Mekoa was ranked 17th of 17 in the group  by PPA, but by actual PA he is now ranked 9th of 17.  (+8)
(40i) Menzi Nene was ranked 9th of 17 in the group by PPA, but buy actual PA he is now ranked 16th of 17. (-7)

Some of you might be surprised by this, (others less so), but I would say that this particular intake isn't a very good example of how things work because they got the top 4 players up at the top, (albeit not quite in the right order. I would say that the star rating in this intake is significantly better than average.

I also usually put the CA stuff in there, but I don't think it's appropriate in this case.

Anyway, I hope that this post reaches some of you who haven't read stuff like this in other threads. If it interests you, come and have a look in the Cambrogi thread.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE. Not everyone wants to know the CA and PA of players, (even though I hope we will be moving away from South Africa next season), so please don't post info that is in this "spolier section", in the general thread. If someone has some specific questions that need the quoting of info, then please use a spoiler yourself, or post it in the Cambrogi thread or PM me. Thank in advance.
