Hi everyone.

Just downloaded and installed FM20 via steam, on load though - I just get a black screen and a cursor.

FYI I've tried all the fixes for similar problems on previous games:

  • Re-Install
  • Install DirectX
  • Delete Cache and Preferences Folder
  • Verifying Game Files
  • No Antivirus except Windows Defender
  • Graphic Cards are up to date (In FM19 I have a similiar case, it solved when I install graphic card via ASUS website. But when I updated the graphic card, the game is always blank when launch until now. So, I have this blank problem in both my FM19 and FM20)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey,

Sorry to hear you're having issues. First of all, it sounds like you've tried some of the steps suggested here but not necessarily all of them. Worth giving them a go:

If that doesn't work, from your post it sounds like there could have been a problem with installing the driver update. Could you uninstall and reinstall your drivers:

Thanks,

Jack

Hello @nanda7prakoso,

Sad you encounter that issue.

Just a couple of questions, do you use any custom files (eg Skin, whatever?)?

Could you try a couple of steps please? Hopefully it could help fixing your issue.

1) Try to launch the game as administrator.

Go to the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2020
- Right-Click on the FM.exe
-  Click 'Run as Administrator'

2) If that still doesn't work, please continue to the steps below:

- Open Steam and access your Games Library
- Right-click on Football Manager 2020 -> Properties -> General -> Set Launch Options
- Type this in the box: --no_exclusive_fullscreen
- Click on OK, close the window and launch FM19 through Steam

Hope it could help

Regards

No, I'm not use any custom files.

I've done that steps before. But still blank when I try to launch the game.

Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure if it might help but here's a list of conflicting programs.

I'm afraid it needs somebody more experienced than I am on technical issues, hopefully the technical team would be able to help you sorting this out. @Neil Brock

Best regards

Can we ask you to increase the virtual memory of your computer and see if it helps, please?

We would suggest you to note down the initial virtual memory so you can revert back after testing this out.

Details on how to do this is here: https://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/post/2016/05/10/how-to-manage-windows-10-virtual-memory.aspx

If you have any issue please let us know.

Thanks.

Thank you we will take a look and let you know we can spot anything that might caused this issue.

In the meanwhile, we have released a new version of the public beta which includes some stability fixes so we would suggest you to give it a go and see if it helps (would also suggest you to delete caches and preferences folders once again), please?

Thanks.

Just to confirm have you done as shown below?

First of all, right-click on your desktop and select 'New' -> 'Folder'

Create a folder and name it something to distinguish it (say SI backup)

Once you've done this go to your Sports Interactive folder found within 'documents' which by default is at the following location - C:\Users\[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020

This should contain folders like 'games', 'crash dumps' etc. Please cut every folder from here and paste them into the folder you've created on your desktop.

Once you've done this and the Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020 folder is now empty, launch the game. If it works, copy back the files from the desktop folder and hopefully it should now load without any issues.

Are you on 20.4 now, still with no custom files installed?

If so and it's still having issues - can you send us your Belarc report, please? Instructions below.
