(FMT20) We are Eastern of the East, can we beat the West and become the Best

Recommended Posts

In this save I will manage Eastern, who play in the Hong Kong Premier League. The board only expect a top-half finish this season. Although I am hoping to finish in the top two to book our place in a continental competition next season. The media predict us to finish in 5th place. My long term goal in this save is to win a Club World Championship with Eastern.

End of 2019/20 season:

After our top two finish was all but confirmed and us then qualifying for continental football next season, our title challenge went to the last day of the season. We were unbeaten in the league up until this point and only needed a draw to guarantee 1st place. Yet we missed a penalty and lost 4-3 to Kitchee thus giving them the title. However, I still won the FA Cup and Community Cup and so would call this a good season.

Next season we have the Asian Confederation to look forward to. Our first youth intake was nothing special, although we may have 2 or 3 future squad players to take from it.

I have not seen this before, a tug of war between two rivals to take over the club. One claims he will replace me if he completes the take over and the other will back me if gets the owner status.

End of 2020/21 season:

After failing at the last hurdle last year, we had an unbeaten league winning season and won 3 cups as well. Our run in the Asian Confederation Cup will continue in the new season. This year we had a better youth intake day.

End of 2021/22 season:

In our first full Confederation Cup campaign we lost in the interzone final against Kuktosh which is the round before the grand final. This season we also made our Asian Champions League debut where we just missed out on qualifying for the group stage losing in the final playoff round against Shandong.

In terms of our domestic games, we had a case of deja vu where we played 2nd placed Kitchee on the final day. This would be the deciding match in who would win the league title. All we needed to retain our crown was to draw against them and thankfully, unlike in the 1st season, we went one better and won the game. We also won the Community Cup and the Sapling Cup.

Next season I am aiming for a better time in the Continental competitions and I would like to win the Senior Shield which is the only competition in Hong Kong I am yet to win. We had a decent youth intake day this year, with this Centre Back looking especially promising.

End of 2022/23 season:

This was not our greatest season, but an okay one as we won my first Senior Shield as well as the Community Cup and Sapling Cup. However, we finished second with a big 10 point gap between us and the league winners Kitchee.

In the continental cups, we were once again knocked out in the Confederation Cup interzone play off final. This time it was Ahal, from Turkmenistan, who beat us. In the Champions League, we finished bottom of our group on 2 points.

This season's youth intake was our best yet. This goalkeeper was the best of them.
